- Location, swimming pool, food and staff
- The Resteraunt, first night very good second night no availability had to eat in the Bar.
- Breakfast was nice wkth a good choice
Cons -
- Steam room was not working in the morning
- Very basic room, wasn’t cleaned the second day wasn’t told that we actually had to request it, no milk for tea or water.
- When we arrived our room was at the end of the corridor as all the other rooms on that floor were being renovated, tools all out in the corridor, banging and drilling at 8am. We was not informed of any work being done in the property before booking or even check in. There was no robes or slippers in the room so we had to request them after breakfast.

The staff were incredible (Steph was so lovely!). The facilities were outstanding and we were in a refurbished room. It had everything we needed and more, I absolutely will stay here again 100%
The plug in the bathroom did not have the chain on so was a little difficult pulling it to let the water out
No sleep, unable to wash...
Bed was broken, no hot water in sink, room cold with just a mobile rad
Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly.
Over priced
Beautiful atmosphere, lovely staff.
Drinks and food rather expensive but it is 5☆
Good size room, tastefully decorated.
I booked this hotel primarily because it has a pool and was at a good stopping point on my long journey, needed a swim and a wind down. Pool was out of action and there is other maintenance/refurb work going on in the hotel which started about 8:30am. The room had obviously been recently renovated and while this has been done to a good standard, the door to the room from the corridor either does not fit well enough against the seal or is simply too flimsy because the noise from the corridor was very apparent. The breakfast was no different to any of the budget chains, standard buffet affair, self service coffee machine etc. Not really a 4 star experience.
Good location, decent parking. Really nice welcoming entrance with log fire
Not easy to find lift to rooms. Hotel is undergoing renovation which wouldn’t ordinarily be an issue but rooms are being done on a room type basis so on our corridor alternate rooms were covered in plastic sheeting and being used for guests. It felt eerie being essentially in a building site. Water and milk is provided in chillers on the corridor - opposite ends of the corridor. Our carpet had a lot of marks, sofa was marked , walls marked. Room itself and bathroom nicely furnished but marks off putting. Bathroom shower screen has a gap between the bottom and the bath so that the room flooded when shower used. Lovely tea/coffee supplies and mugs. Woken early by workmen starting work - soon after 7 am. Heavy drilling against out room from 8am. As we left builder laughed and said has the noise driven you out!! Had paid via Booking.com but hotel records did not show this and insisted on taking a payment again which they said would not be put through if not needed but felt unnecessary- no interest is my booking.com receipt.Reception staff not all that helpful and no senior staff were due in until later morning/afternoon. Hoped to swim but at £15 each did not seem worth it. Was told room service was 24hr but when used QR code in room said no slots available.
Food excellentfamily room well laid out (if a little small vs impression in pictures!)
Pool at extra cost (meant for us we didn’t use as weren’t sure how much time we would have to get value for our additional fee).
Bar & spa .... very good location fantastic
Building works started early & finished late lots of noise from the works ..... we were not told about the works when booking
Location perfect breakfast great
The hotel is going through a refurbish atm and 90% of the rooms on our floor were being worked on with lots of dust. Probably better to close off the whole floor but it was ok
The beds where very comfy, rooms very modern
House keeping knocking up 3 times even though check outs not till 11 Spa was to crowdedCould hear a pin drop from the next room
Over priced and rubbish, not...
The room looked as if it had been recently fitted out by Ikea for a Travelodge. You could easily slip into and out of the bath as the grab rail was in the wrong place, especially when carrying wash bottles into it. You could hear the continued hum from both the nearby factories and the M6 Motorway, not good for any light sleeper. The cleaning staff were wanting you out of the room by 9am and continually knocking on the door. Checkout was stated by 11am.You have to pay extra for spa access, which is a complete and utter waste of money, especially for the price you pay per night, (this extra cost was not originally stated on the Booking.com website at time of booking). Half the carpark was overtaken with building work, so hard to park your car.If you want a light meal in the bar (rather then the restaurant), you can't, as they don't serve food food in the bar, even though they have menus on the tables that states you have to use an app to order to the table. After trying to use this, we were told by a member of staff this was for room service only.Overall, there are better places to stay in Penrith and North Cumbria, especially if your looking to visit the northern lakes.
The Staff were very good and friendly. The food was very good both the evening meal and the breakfast.
The bed was horrible with various stains on the mattress. The mattress protector retaining straps were broken. The sheet did not fit the bed. The two halves of the bed were not connected. The zip connection was broken. The shower you could not get this to control ie cool down.
Very smart and clean, and has a good atmosphere..
Not happy that you pay a substantial rate for your stay and are expected to pay £15 each for a bit of a swim ..
The spa and swimming pool .The restaurant
t was very busy so the staff were a bit stretched.
I wasn’t happy it all with the full experience
I didn’t like how I never got told where my room was or any info for breakfast or about the spa I thort it was included in price for £183 it wasn’t the room wasn’t very big at all the staff didn’t giv me any information about anything
Location Friendly staffSuperb rooms with attention to detailGreat leisure facilities
Location and staff were great
We had to pay extra to use the swimming pool. Most hotels with a pool let you use it as part of the price
