Argued about letting me lock a high value bike Because I moved it back they rudely awakened up to tell me I’m banned get out just after I paid for another night the room was dirty bedding had stains on it the also got me arrrested for arguing for a refund and pushing a leaflet stand over absalout horrible management do not stay here More time u will come home with bugs
Staff the hygiene
The location just a short walk to the city center, quiet and comfortable.
Poor internet connection in room, tv signal weak
Reasonable cost for a bed for the night
Tv had bad signal problems and was unwatchable. Remote control for tv was a replacement and wouldn’t switch off the subtitles.
Convenient location and parking available.
A little old and tired. Good friendly staff BUT not enough of them to handle number of guests in bar/ restaurant and breakfast area.
The staff
Unfortunately we was there when a fire broke so was evacuated through a side door which quite frankly needs work as your climbing through brambles ? I know they can't do anything about a fire (depending the cause) but the exits etc they can. I do not recommend if you want to take kids either due to the clientele one other guest called it the local crack den. Beds are standard for a hotel
Location and parking + breakfast all good.
Could do with some updating. But good value
The cost, including breakfast for the two days which they charge £7.99 for, was exceptional and it seemed you could just keep going back for more and was included in my price of £74.00. The location was great as there was McDonald's, Chippy, Pizza Hut, Kentucky and Costa within a five minute walk. Carlisle town centre was up to a 20 minute walk away and you pass so many food, and bizarrely barber shops, along the way, including an Adsa store. Parking was free also. All the reception staff were affable. The "chef", had a face like a slapped arse!! But he could of just had a bad day and didn't know how to cook sausages.Room was adequate for for me and also had a bath.Access to the M6 was within a 10 minute drive.I would stay here again but my needs are more basic than most. I did see older couples here too.
Not in any particular order. The heating could not be adjusted. Even though the radiator was turned off there is a hugh pipe underneath piping hot so the window was open all night. The free soap provided, whilst taking a shower in the bath, needs to be relocated as it was too close to my right shoulder when showering. No shampoo provided.Second morning they run out of eggs for breakfast and the sausages did not looked cooked properly.Carpark needs resurfacing as there are large pot holes that will damage tyres.Outside facade and signage needs a major facelift along with aspects within.
The location was good for the football
Dodgy characters hanging around everywhere
The staff were very welcoming and friendly
The mattress was completely done for, the springs gave up a long time ago and had a huge dip in the middle, it was like sleeping on a hard hammock, there was also hair in the bed and a big chunk of dead skin like someone pulled a blister off and left the skin in the bed. We slept fully clothed for fear of what else might have been left on the sheets. The room had big wads of hair on the floor and a huge wet patch next to the bed, there was black mold taking over the shower, the TV had no sound, and the room smelled like a combination of blood (metallic) and vomit.
Free parking, large room and perfect for a cheap one night stay. There was a mix up with my room but the lovely lady at the desk was very apologetic and fixed it right away and offered a complimentary breakfast (which I couldn't take so can't comment on breakfast).
Someone was able to access my room when I was in it (again, because of the mix up). There was no mirror near a plug socket - I was getting ready for a wedding so very hard to blow-dry/style hair. You have to request a hairdryer (not really an issue but ask early because there are only so many). The chair had many stains on it. Bit grim.
Spacious room. Friendly, helpful staff. Availability of breakfast and dinner.
The wrong name on the building was a bit confusing - still branded as the Hilltop Hotel.
The receptionist in the evening was friendly
The room was unclean and smelled mouldy
Easy location to find. Room was clean.
The outside of the building doesn’t make you feel good about staying there. The halls had a strong smell to them
Not much except the Price.
Seriously dilapidated establishment that made it all seem quite unacceptable, to be honest. Even the hotel name sign on the road was damaged/missing, and you'd think the owners would deal with that asap!
Location. Friendly efficient staff who were rushed off their feet doing multiple jobs.
No draft beer. No bacon for breakfast
Easy to find. Great free parking. Near to the centre of Carlisle. Rooms basic but comfortable and warm. Beds very comfortable. Good big screen tv. The full English breakfast was great if too much. Toast tea available etc.Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good value for the money.
Wifi in room not too good but ok in reception area. No fruit in breakfast. The hotel seemingly has just had a refit and is still a bit quiet but that was not a bad thing.
Good location for our needsVery friendly staffGreat bar prices - £2 cheaper than the nearest barClean, spacious roomLovely cooked breakfast
Breakfast was huge - it was lovely but too much. Felt bad wasting food.
