Pros +
- Stayed many times before, always enjoyed it
- The staff were genuinely nice, especially at reception, and the location was very convenient for getting around. Those were definitely the highlights. However, parking could be made easier. It wasn’t the smoothest process, and better clarity or more accessible parking options would improve the experience.Overall, a decent hotel with friendly staff, but there’s a lot of room for improvement.
- Stayed in this hotel previously for our annual theatre trip and shopping trip toLeeds Christmas market and never had any problems. Next to train station so great location.
Cons -
- Change of system regarding parking left me with £100 parking ticket and the hotel basically washed there hands of it,
- The biggest issue for me was the cleanliness. The room had bed bugs, which is completely unacceptable. I actually broke out in a rash, and it made the stay very uncomfortable. For a hotel that serves travellers regularly, this should never happen. They really need to pay far more attention to detail and thoroughly sanitise and clean the rooms before new guests arrive. I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels, and I have never experienced anything like this until now. This was a major concern.
- BED BUGS in the bed, crawling on pillow. We found them at 12.30am. They moved us to another room but when wanting a shower in the morning, the shower did not work, no water at all came out of the shower and there was no hot water coming out of the hot tap so could not even get a wash. We complained and asked for a refund to be told email us. I have emailed and was promised a refund but over a week later still not received it and now they are not responding to my emails when I ask where my refund is. Will never stay here again

Thought from the outside it looked lovely , didn't match up to expectations
Got there early 3 hrs to be exact & was told our room was ready , we could goIn at £20 per hr = £60! We have been in hotels everywhere , and always got in straight away ,if the roomWas ready , dint find much help with staff , so we ended upComing homeLate after killing times,OnlyToFind that our superior roomWas on the 4 th floor ! The lift wasn't working and we're in our 70s !!! This was a nightmare to say the least , got to our room and it was to small had to go up and down the stairs about 5 times as we then had to go back down for our bags ,
Clean bathroom. Central location for Bradford Live.
Dated appearance, lift broken, awful bar playing incessant Christmas songs.
Very poor
Had to move rooms 3 times. Tv not working in 1t room, waited 5 hours for someone to come and fix it, could not be fixed, moved to another room, no taps on bath and no running water in sink, third room ok. Now 10.45pm. Checked in at 4pm.
The location
Cold room. Broken lift and resturant closed
Location was great
Mattress was like laying on a jelly so could not sleep , pillows very uncomfortable , room was like an oven inside and diary. Bathroom smelled of sewage .
Staff attitude was good.
Mattress was no good, room was not clean enough. Heating system was not working. Under the shower tub, sheet was broken.
Good price, Great location, friendly staff and reception.
This was my third time staying at Great Victoria Hotel. Each time, the elevator was broken. On November 27th I stayed in Room 114. It looked clean, but urine was in the toilet, floor was not vaccumed, used towels were still hanging up on the rack and used coffee cups were not replace. On day three, after having the room serviced, the floors were not hoovered, dirty cups were not replace, the trash was not intirely removed, dirty towels were not replace, and the duvet was pulled up without making the bed, Nor were the sheets replaced. A new room was not offered. After checking out I requested a refund due to unhealthy house keeping. I have yet to hear back from hotel management.
Apart from the noise in...
I couldn’t sleep the first night. It was very noisy like coming from a huge ventilation system or a Big engine. But luckily the staff changed my room which was very nice and comfortable
Location
The room was cold. Even with heating set to max, it didn't appear to be working. I had to take the covers off the other bed to keep warm. The noise from an air-conditioning unit outside, kept me awake most of the night.
Great location
We should have been informed that the lift was out of order, it would have been helpful to know that the car park is now external and through an app - which took 5 goes to sort, the TV was problematic and we had to solve that ourselves. The room was very cold and it didn't feel like the heating worked in the room at all.
Most beautiful building, my favourite hotel. Love the big rooms, high ceilings, great decor & not clinical like some of the well known hotel chains.Great location next to train/bus stationPersonally, just wish I could move it to a different location as I don't live too far away & a real extravagance, treat when I should go home after a trip to the theatre in Bradford
The lift was out of order & had been for quite a while . Not a problem for us as we were only there for one night but would be a real issue for a lot of customers
Location perfect
First room we were put in had no working shower and no hot water. It was a penthouse on the 4th floor with no lift working. The bath in the room I discovered was just for decoration and had no taps. Parking app was a nightmare to use and had to pay £50 security fee deposit. We were moved to a new room which was comfortable but not for the price I paid. Bar was ultra expensive.
The location is ideal, right next to the train and bus station and next to St George's Hall. In the room that I was allocated the heating was not working, so I was immediately upgraded to another room. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, with ensuite bath and shower. The Hotel is in the quieter part of town, so you won't be disturbed by external noise. The staff are very polite and friendly and only too pleased to help.
Everything was good
The location is good for events at Bradford Live
My friend and I came away from the stay with several bedbug bites, confirmed by the doctor. We needed antibiotics to treat it and have been left with unsightly and highly uncomfortable bites 2 weeks on. The hotel have been incredibly slow to respond to messages about this. I have had no confirmation as to what they have done about the issue (for people staying there in future) or whether they are willing to refund our booking- given it has cost us more in medication than we paid for the room! The room was 212.
Proximity to St George’s HallStaff friendly
Stayed here many timesRoom 115 was disappointing, shabby , poor coffee, tiny bathroom , 4 hangers one was broken . Not enough suckers next to bed.
Bed
No lift no hot water lift be broke down for12 months parking was £5 now £10
Very tall ceilings and nice features all around
Extremely dated and not the most clean.
