Passable
The bed was very hard, we had to move room due to the smell from the bathroom. No safe in the room, fridge empty, hair dryer smelled when turned on due to the amount of hair in the filter. Selection at breakfast was very poor. All the staff were very pleasant.
Amazing Spa, wonderful staff, lovely courtyard
Hotel just doesn't live up to how amazing the spas are, or the historic importance and integrity of the site. There was also a children's futbol team staying at the hotel and the kids were absolutely out of control and disruptive to the spa and relaxation experience.
Good location, staff were very helpful and friendly. Didn't speak much English, but they put a lot of effort in to make your stay comfortable.
AC didn't work in room. Also, car park lights turned off too soon.
The room was quite spacious, they had good breakfast and parking right in front of the hotel.
It's an old style building, very Spanish deco with a beautiful courtyard garden. The clientele is mostly elderly Spanish who are there to use the thermal baths, so there is an old world atmosphere about the place.
The staff spoke very little English, even at reception, which made things a bit difficult. Most were friendly and helpful except for one staff member at breakfast who was very abrupt. It all feels a little institutional - with very average quality buffet style meals and breakfast. Alhama de Almeria is a very run-down town, and whatever tourist attractions there are (e.g. el puente) are hard to find, with littered and unkempt surroundings.
spacious rooms
poor internet in the rooma bit limited breakfast
Passable
Catfish photos. Looks good on the photos but the rooms are dated and the aircon was like a jet engine running. The bathroom was last decorated in the 80’s.
Breakfast was good-Continental. Choice of cheeses, salami, bread, doughnuts, butter, jams, Spanish bacon, fried egg and frankfurter style sausage. Coffee and juice from a machine. It was all passable. Set us up for the day. Staff were lovely. A bit like stepping back in time, but in a good way. Everything was clean, views from the bar were lovely.Great base to see the area. Couple of nice bars restaurants within easy walking distance. Don’t forget your swimming costume, sauna and massages require this. I recommend it. I was pleasantly surprised what good value it was.
All good
