Pros +
- Amazing location, exceptional staff, always there for you and willing to help. It was an adventurous stay for us, and we were amazed by the readiness of the staff to be there whenever and for whatever needed. Huge thanks to Lucia!
- I loved the view and surrounding area as well as walking on the property seeing the animals. The wellness spa was really lovely even though I did not have a treatment, i enjoyed the jacuzzi, steam, sauna etc THe breakfast was great and so was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff
- The location is beautiful; it is true Tuscany in every way. The facilities are fantastic, more than anyone could need or imagine. The staff is not just excellent, the people are special. Everyone treated us like family. I also rented a meeting room in the old wine cellar. It was clean, beautiful, the temperature was easily adjustable, and the location was perfect. I'm already thinking about doing a business conference at Villa Petriolo. I didn't get to eat at PS, but Golpaja was delicious. I'm so glad we stayed long enough to try several of the dishes.
Cons -
- the spa was in another building, so was not able to go back to my room in the gown and slippers as it is December and just cold
- Unfortunately, the same as our first stay we were completely ignored by the manager even though he personally greeted the other 4 guests checking in at the same time as us. He also personally walked around the pool saying hello to guests but actively ignoring us. I am not sure why our money is any different to any other guest. We staid in the presidential suite in July for 4 nights and this time just one night but with 2 rooms. We provided feedback on our first stay directly to the hotel which we never received a reply on and were excited to see a difference in the second stay however this just did not happen. We wouldn't stay again based on this. The hotel is beautiful but the lack of service means other hotels in the vicinity that are just as nice will get our buisiness.
- One of the 2 x properly access roads was blocked due to olive harvest. When we called asking, they knew it was blocked - they should have communicated that so that we knew we needed to reroute maps to get there. Google maps didnt pick it up.

Wonderful calm Tuscan nature experience. Stylish design of interior. Front desk staff was friendly and exceptionally helpful.
Our stay at Villa Petriolo was the best.. The staff was very accommodating especially Michael.. The place has all the amenities you needed. The breakfast was amazing and fresh from their farm... They have 2 restaurants but we were only able to try one as the michelin starred one is always fully booked. Overall, we will come back for sure...
As our stay in July, the hotel is beautiful and the amenities are wonderful. The lady at breakfast is a star but I didn't catch her name. The hotel is very lucky to have her.

Very beautiful villa with friendly staff and great activities
Our room was stunnig with frescos on the walls and a view from the bathtub. We enjoyed the facilities including both pools and the spa/sauna. Loved a sunset cocktail too.!

Beautiful place, spa was excellent
A bit out of the way, tough road to drive at night
The Breakfast, and the staff at breakfast were wonderful. The room and facilites were beautiful as was the spa. The cake that was organised through the restaurant was wonderful as was all of the food. We were slightly disappointed by the fact that we assume the hotel manager made the time to speak to what felt like every other guest there but seemed to ignore us despite the fact that we were staying in the presidential suite for 4 nights. Regardless the other staff were wonderful and we would return for the property we just hope that the service is more attentive next time.

Stunning Hotel. Gorgeous pool and facilities. We loved the walk around the estate which had animals and beautiful vineyards. The staff at check in were nice and helped us with luggage even though we arrived late. The bar where you have aperitifo is lovely and the staff are great! Location is not so far from Florence so that’s a plus.
A few things mainly revolving around service and what a 5 star hotel standard should be. 1. We found the staff at breakfast a bit abrasive and not very welcoming. For example, when you sit, no one will come to your table and ask you what you want to drink/ whether u want eggs in a certain way.. etc. We found ourselves constantly “looking” for staff to ask for something. 2. The tables for breakfast are not set. A luxury hotel would have set tables. Not cafeteria style tables. See photo. We stayed at a 5 star hotel in Garda right before and the service was simply not comparable to this one although they are the same price.3. There is no service at the pool. For example, want shade? Move the umbrella yourself. Want a drink? Walk to the bar or wait an hour until someone passes by by chance (they don’t pass by and ask would you like to drink something?). Interesting service model for sure. 4. I wasn’t a huge fan of the food. Florence and Tuscany have much more amazing food. 5. Spa facilities were not included in the already high price for the room. I wonder, what luxury hotel doesn’t allow their paying customers to use the sauna as part of their stay! I understand spa services are an extra charge, but the spa itself should be open to the guests. I booked a massage and even then the spa facilities were not included. I have never heard of this. The massage itself was fantastic and Laura was lovely and professional. I highly recommend her. 6. No one told us about the second outdoor pool that we could have used (it has a nicer view check it out). 7. The prices are almost New York standard. A small beer is 8.5 euros (almost 10 dollars), cocktails are 18 euros.. etc.
The views from the hotel, the facility, food and service are all 100% perfect! Love the stay here for the Tuscany vacati
Beautiful property. Unreal scenery. Very helpful staff.
The food was good, but a bit difficult with some particular pallets. Would have liked a bit more selection.
This was such a beautiful place to stay! The entire property is beyond beautiful! There are sheep, goats, dogs, and ducks. We loved watching the baby sheep and goats running around. The pools overlook the green Tuscany views. They have a lovely spa with lots of different rooms and great staff to show you around. The restaurants are phenomenal and were more than happy to accommodate me as a vegan! Most of the food you eat there is straight from the property so it is very fresh. Our room was nice and we loved the bathroom and views! An extra thank you to the staff!! They are great.
It was a bit rainy during our stay and you have to walk outside to get to the restaurants.
Pool, wellness centre, views, farm to table food
We had our laundry done and weren’t notified of the cost prior to organising it. It was incredibly overpriced.
First of all, we sincerely appreciate the kindness of the hotel’s restaurant staff, who waited for us until 10:30 PM to serve dinner after we were delayed on the road. Their hospitality was exceptional.
The next morning, we checked out but asked if we could still enjoy the hotel’s public areas (like the pool and lobby) since we arrived late the previous night and didn’t have time to experience the facilities. The staff warmly assured us we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted. We had lunch at the poolside bar and later relaxed in the lobby, taking occasional photos—just like other guests.Unfortunately, our pleasant stay was overshadowed by an unpleasant encounter with a middle-aged, short-haired female employee. While we were sitting quietly in the lobby (not disturbing anyone), she kept pacing nearby, giving us unfriendly looks without greeting us. After about an hour, she approached us in a very rude tone, accusing us of "taking photos for over two hours" and claiming that "other guests needed the space."This was completely uncalled for. We were not continuously taking photos—just a few occasional pictures (maybe 30 minutes total)—and mostly just sitting quietly. Many other guests were also taking photos, and we never monopolized the space or caused any disturbance. It’s disappointing that such unnecessary hostility ruined our otherwise lovely day at Villa Petriolo. As paying guests, we expect respectful treatment, especially when following the hotel’s own policies. We hope the management addresses this issue to ensure all guests feel welcome.
Nice Property, clean, good size rooms.
The menu in restaurant is very limited having few dishes. Vegetarians have further limited options.
Good facilities and views
Cannot say no service at all but barely. Not recommended at all. Staff won’t help you with luggage, neither borrow you an umbrella but asking why don’t bring your own. No service in restaurants either. No hot water/kettle in room. Rude hotel driver. If you prefer a self-service, hidden place, faraway from cities, Wi-Fi with limitations then go ahead
Breakfast and dinner was great! Staff at the restaurant were very nice (but I cannot say the same for the front staff we encountered). The room was spacious and pretty.
Very poor service from the front staff. We felt that we were treated differently to other guests. We initially were offered different welcome drinks and were not treated with the same kind of friendliness. But to be fair with the comment, the morning shift staff were nice and helpful.
This place is absolutely beautiful. Pictures don't do it justice. The heated pools were a welcome addition to our chilly April stay, and the spa was rejuvenating and a much-needed stop during our packed Italian itinerary. The welcome staff at reception were also very kind and helpful.
Meals were extremely difficult during our stay. The restaurant also accepts reservations from non-hotel guests. That is fine and expected, but it leaves no space for those who paid thousands of dollars to stay at the hotel. Our first meal was great, but it went downhill from there. We booked three rooms, and our family often felt like an inconvenience to the staff at the restaurant. Again, the reservation requirements are not completely unexpected for the quality of the hotel, but if you can't get one, there are no other food options in the area, and we couldn't even find a taxi to take us into a nearby town for food. We traveled with our kids, and this was quite a nightmare, as the only alternative was room service, which had half the (not-kid-friendly) options as the restaurant for double the price (on top of a 15 euro per room fee, regardless of what you ordered). The hotel should ensure that there is enough space for guests to eat at each meal service and expand its room service options. Again, for the price of this hotel, I would have expected more support from the staff to help us figure out how to get some food for our kids. Even adding a pizza to the room service menu would have helped.
