    Pros +

    • Location, staff and food
    • Staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating. Location was perfect between the Gumbalimba nature reserve and the beach and restaurants. It was quiet and felt private. We were able to easily visit the Gumbalimba monkeys, iguanas and macaws. The macaws came to the hotel as well. We loved the wild life hanging about including cats, bunnies and agoutis.
    • Small, quaint, clean and quiet. Good food and drinks. Reasonable prices. Very friendly staff.

    Cons -

    • Being stuck in our room for a few days of rain. Not the resorts fault. Television and wifi signal in our room was poor
    • It is hard to find a criticism. Just a suggestion- It would be nice to have a self- serve coffee station from 7-8 before the restaurant is open. The staff was more than happy to provide coffee upon request.
    • Beds a little hard, pillows flat, no sitting area in the room, no where to put clothes away on the first floor of the family bungalow.

Really nice little resort with friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, free airport shuttle, short walk to West Bay beach

Resort's own swim area was not that great, but it's only a short walk to the beautiful West Bay beach.

The staff made this enjoyable the food is well priced and plentiful. The drinks are well made and service was very good. Winston stood out as very helpful. Always attentive to your needs the chefs did a great job in a small and busy kitchen.

The room be warned is very basic, Just a bed a wardrobe and sink shower, Toilet works fine but it does not take Paper being put into it so it must be thrown into a garbage container next to the toilet. Which is the sewer system not the hotels fault just a heads up.There is nothing to do here if you do not dive sun , Sea, if you are looking for a quiet break this is perfect if you want entertaining no.

    Great quiet location

No security or staff at night. Food was mediocre

    8MonicaPosted on: 10-21-2025

Our family enjoyed having a different local breakfast daily. The plunge pool next to the ocean was a great feat.

    Beds need more pillows.

This property is beautiful, right on the ocean. The view is stunning! It’s quiet at night but has a nice restaurant and small bar. The food is good. And breakfast is included in the cost of the room. My bed was very comfortable! All of lower West Bay is a short walk away. I felt safe at this property. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

There was nothing to complain about.

This is a great base for diving, the boat is on site and the dive spots are nearby. The more you dive, the better the prices get. The staff is kind, conscientious and helpful. The resort itself has beautiful greenery, shady trees and stone paths. Taxi Boats to West End stop there and West Bay is a quick walk away. The simple breakfast is nice, the coffee excellent and always available. Potential drinks are poured at a reasonable price and there is a 2 for 1 happy hour. The pasta and fish dishes are yummy, the seafood soup is very good. Transfers to airport and help with any issues or necessities that might arise.

The noseeums can be hellacious if they decide they like you. Make sure to research the best repellant specifically for noseeums and stock up before you go. You will be applying it every day. For these stinging Valkyrie of the devil, The winter is not as bad as the summer. Avoid lobster specific dishes; it is previously frozen, tough, and salty, salty, salty.

The location is close enough but not too close to everything on West Bay. The restaurant deck, terrace and pool on the water's edge were so relaxing, The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was enjoyable with a daily "hot" special to accompany the fruit and breads, and the senior morning breakfast attendant was particularly pleasant and always one step ahead with coffee and the hot plate. The lunch/dinner food was good and decently priced. The rooms are cozy, comfortable and clean.

Not a complaint, but the times we ordered from the menu (not breakfast), the restaurant ran more on island time, even at off-times when there were fewer customers. But the food was always delivered hot and tasty.

    9DeborahPosted on: 5-31-2025

Fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, and a rotating hot plate menu included every morning for breakfast was great! The dinner and happy hour were good enough that we never ate anywhere else. The location was minutes away from West Bay beach, but offset by a little to give more privacy. Private dock and dive shop on the premises (though I did not dive with them). AC was outstanding.

The water pressure in the shower could be a little better, and the mattress is a bit too firm/springy - whenever my fiance moved at night, it trampolined me a little, decreasing the quality of my sleep. While the area is known for no-see-ums and mosquitoes, you can manage this pretty well by keeping the main door and bathroom door shut (though I think mosquitoes were coming in through the shower drain)

We stayed for 4 nights. It was a good value oceanview resort in a quiet area. Our lodging rate included breakfast. Our room has a double bed and a twin bed. It was spacious. The room does not have a safe and the front office has a safe for customers. The only drawback is that a customer can only access it at certain times. I learned that it was because there are only select people that has access which make it more secure. There is a security guard that patrols the resort. The resort had a restaurant and bar. It had a nice view of the ocean and it was nice to see sunsets. It has a very small pool which is more like a jacuzzi. The resort is next to a small beach. There was a walking path to the resorts/hotels/restaurants/bars & white sand beaches of West Bay. This was one of the benefits of staying in this resort. It was in a secluded and secure location yet walking distance to many key places.

We had a cabana with mini-fridge stacked with drinks and snacks. They had an interesting rule that if the customers remove the items and placed our personal items that they will charge $15 per day usage. We had an a/c which is nice; however, it had an irregular “ticking” noise and was annoying at night when we were sleeping. We mentioned this issue with the front desk staff and we don’t think that the maintenance man figured out how to fix it.

Staff was excellent. Friendly and helpful. Restaurant and bar were very good. Location was peaceful and clean. Close to the beach but without the madness.

Try to avoid a lower level suite. The floors are bare wood and you will hear every footstep and sound from the unit above.

Location was great, and the room was just as advertised, very tropical. Loungers on the waterfront were a great place to watch the sunset. I enjoyed the extra rickety boardwalk to Westend, but it was pretty sketchy.

Restaurant overall and included breakfast were meh,, staff pretty blasé. Eggs might be ice. Cold, drinks might be served in a semi dirty glass… The little pool was out of commission for three days they were there. Due to lots of rain now mosquitoes were fierce.

Everything food, location, the rooms we had a great time and the stuff were very attentive.

The property is perfectly situated in a quiet spot minutes from a busy beach. The property has a small beach with swimming area that is very quiet. Geraldine at the dive shop was fantastic. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming. The property is well maintained and there is security on site. The resultant is situated with a deck overlooking the ocean. We liked everything we ate at the restaurant. The Papuans were my favorite. The happy hour has great drink specials. The monkey lala is a must try cocktail.

The bed was a little too firm.

This is a great place to stay as it is centrally located (a quick walk to the beach at West Bay and a quick boat taxi to West End) and super convenient for diving. The airport transfers were included and very helpful. All staff were patient, kind and helpful. The room was spacious enough and had a hammock on the porch and the luscious gardens and palm trees were tended every day. Drinks were potent and a bargain. The food was generous and tasty. The diving is fantastic.

The restaurant was convenient and there was plenty of tasty and reasonably priced seafood on the menu. That said, the menu needed more healthy options. Fried food dominates the menu. Also, most of the food is excessively salted. The conch soup had a wonderful broth but it tasted like a handful of salt had been added. The room needed some TLC--re-plastering & paint mostly, rusty shower curtain rod, moldy grout in shower. Also, the room service was kind of hit and miss. Wash cloths were either not provided or we received only one or one that was ripped, worn or stained. We ended up short of soap and TP a couple of times. The staff, however, was responsive. I mention these things not to to issue heavy criticism but to bring attention to them because they do matter and hopefully management will take note. We enjoyed our stay and would be thrilled to return.
