    Pros +

    • It's a great facility. And we have no regrets. It's worth knowing, though, that travel by car is recommended. We travelled by bus and then had to search out a taxi from Tipp Town....not easy! Lovely people helped, both in town and at the site. But it would have been good to know ahead of time. We could have been stranded. We learned that the Estate is used primarily for weddings - not for casual travelers. The forest setting is special.
    • Staff, food, location
    • We rented 3 cabins total, and each one was perfect for our families. Large well-equipped kitchens, huge bedrooms, and a bathroom for every bedroom. The view out back was a showstopper! Dinner at the lodge (not included) was fantastic. Breakfast had a great assortment but was not consistently restocked. Easy to find and plenty of parking, even for large vehicles. Would absolutely stay here again.

    Cons -

    • We had a message ahead of time that we should take a taxi to the Lodge from town....but that information was a bit misleading as taxis are not easy to find in Tipperary. Giving us an actual phone number for a taxi ahead of time would have been more helpful.
    • No liftNo air conditioning Shower temperature awkward to manage
    • WiFi did not work well in cabins - thats the only complaint.

Break fast as well as room was good but I had a bad experience by the staff as they alloted the room for another family at 11 pm. Opened our room while we were sleeping. Also someone tried to open the door at 12pm. Didn't got a comfortable sleep.

Proper check as well as training to the staff needed and it is not acceptable to give the same room to someone else when we are sleeping

The patio had a nice view of the mountains

The WiFi did not work in the rooms , and there were not any usb charging outlets to plug into.

The property has a great reputation - when we were asked where we were staying and mentioned the Aherlow, everyone commented on what a wonderful place it was. The view from the terrace is lovely and overlooks the rolling hills. It was well located for our journey.

Wonderful view, houses kitted out with anything you might need. Spacious rooms, warm water, etc. Food in hotel was good and you could bring pizza etc back to the houses, 2-3 minute walk. Barstaff very nice. Nice bedding, comfy couches. Short drive to a few towns for entertainment.

House not kept clean and in need of much repair. Gaping open windows allowing in wind and cold, buildup up of dust and dirt. One bed was being supported by a beer crate, floorboards pulled up, beds glued back together, pillars falling out of balcony, full ashtray on balcony on arrival, beside lamp not working, to name a few.

The Hotel was excellent.Slightly dated but it didn't matter we liked that sort of thing. The location was stunning.Staff was very pleasant and attentive.Food was very good, our room was lovely,We felt like we were in the tree tops.very quite place,.Bed was very comfortable.Thank you all so much we will be back.

Big open fire. The weather was really wet when we visited, the open fire in the bar was very cosy. All the staff we met were great.

Disposable cups in the bedroom, instead of real/ ceramic cups. A waste that could be avoided.

Breakfast and sandwich that I requested was very good

The noise in my bedroom was loud up to 11 o’clock and then stopped till sometime after 4 o’clock in the morning when the noise started again which I had to turn on the television to drown out the noise. The noise was like a engine cutting in and out every 10 or 15 minutes to degree in the morning I had little sleep and one hell of a pain my head from just from the engine cutting in and out. Had a long drive the Tuesday evening and had another long drive the following day with very little sleep. Disappointed as a place I went with my parents when I was young and that is why I wanted to stay there that night. This is the first time I have ever complained about my stay on any hotel

Location and all staff were friendly

    Not enough hot water

    6MaureenPosted on: 4-14-2025

All 3 rooms had an ensuite with showers which was so handy, the balconies were lovely as well as the views

There's no WiFi in the lodges and the kitchen utensils and cooking bits were very low standard. . The Lodge was nice but if they fixed up the place slightly it'd be much nicer.

Food, bar, room, quite location, parking, nice staff

Curtain in bathroom stick to my body when used shower, good maintenance should move little wider and if curtain is long enough to bath water will leak to bath
