Great room with balcony and a nice view is the city.

The swimming pool is not available (due to renovation).Lots of noisy work is done outside the window during the day.

The room was a bit small compared to other rooms in the hotel. The view was really bad, a wall just in front of the balcony 1m away. Moreover i could hear a strong noise most of the time, probably a generator.

The hotel at large is good, nice restaurant and spa area. The location is great

The standard business room is far too small, squeezed and outdated. Its in the old part of the hotel and definitely not upo to standard. The Hotrel itself is good, just the room was really not what i had expected

Service from the staff was good, really good, as compared to other hotels visited in Tana, and i loved the food and bakery in front.

the amenities though were old and need refurbishment, the shower was soso and I did not enjoy 'showering' at all, it was a burden.

The staff, incompetent . Service not as per the name. The food not well prepared. The lamb cutlets too chewy. Had to ask for butter. Mustard ..lack of training .The prices are too expensive..through out. From local beer, water , etc..

Room service did not entirely clean up properly. The mugs with green tea bags were left there as is, bin not cleaned.The object display were not available - we understood that the person holding the key had left and would not be back until the coming Monday.

Once the Grande Dame of hotels in Antananrivo, the hotel has seen its better days. I stayed here with my crew in 2004-2005 on three occasions. It was not bad. Now, not very good. First, since I requested a standard room, i was put into the old wing in a room facing the street. Access to the floor is at the very end of the hallway, past construction and up stairs covered with an old, threadbare carpet badly in need of replacement. The hallway to my room...the last, at the end...was dated and depressing. The room however was nice. Clean, seemingly freshly painted. It was on the street and could be noisy when the window was opened for fresh air. Weather was such that I didn't need the A/C...an open window was sufficient. The mattress was adequate. The bathroom had a toilet slotted between the wall and shower enclosure...let's hope you are thin if you want a proper "reach around" to wipe because their "just ain't enough. room" to get back there. What really bugged me was the breakfast. Hadn't change one bit in 20 years...same tasteless scrambled eggs, cheese, ham slices, and veggie platter brought out of the fridge day after day...lightly rancid butter. One day had some kind sausage that wasn't bad...and the same choice of breads. Same, same, same, boring faire day after day. Bring some creativity now and again. Weak coffee. Finally, unless you have business in central Tana, there really isn't much of a reason to be in central Tana. Taking a walk is tedious with the constant presence of beggars. It is near the Irish Pub but even here, I would use a cab for the few block walk day or night to avoid the beggars and uncertainties. Sorry...as much as I recognize the place the Colbert has in Tana's hospitality history, and the fact that it is locally owned and in that regard, deserves to be supported, I just can't stay here anymore.

The hotel has an old-fashioned Grand Hotel Budapest type of vibe, especially with all the facilities like spa, pool, bakery in the hotel etc. I absolutely loved the quality of service, the care provided, and the experience of staying there. I'd definitely come back and would recommend it for the stay not only because it's comfortable and central, but because it has a special vibe and makes an experience special. I used their spa twice and it was a great experience! So do go for that massage, a swim, or a facial!

The downside is that the furniture is a bit old but comfy and not beaten down that much. The only thing that bothered me truly was the lack of shower curtain, since I was making a mess every time I was washing.

The pool and spa was out of service and it was not mentioned upon booking , so that was a major disappointment, since that was one of the main reason for choosing Colbert.

The staff were friendly and helpfull.

Pool under renovation so couldnt use the pool, Patisserie under renovation, bar under renovation! everything is squeezed into one area making is rather uncomfortable.

A very interesting hotel to be in, with a great restaurant, bakery/patisserie to sit for coffee and close to other restaurants. The room furnishings in the suite that we were in were very nice. Good customer service in general. Safe and convenient.

The pool was not available to use for us which was disappointing and when asking for spa services, was told that the person was not available until after noon. It could be because it was only available at certain times but we were not aware of this.

Bar prices were too high and was almost empty due to this.Only one towel provided for 2 guests.No plug socket near bed on either side.
