Cityhotel Amadeus - 3 Sterne Superior

The morning of the second day, I had the no disturb sign on the door, staff started knocking on my door at 8 then again at 11 and it was very noisy the entire day. And the internet was non existing was not even sufficient for a podcast let alone working on my laptop.

We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the train station. We had an early morning train trip booked and we did not have a car. We walked to the train station easily in about 10 minutes from the hotel. We did book the buffet breakfast because there are no close-by restaurants and we wanted to have a full breakfast before our trip. There was a nice selection of both hot and cold food on offer. A carafe of coffee was provided for the table. The hotel room was kept comfortably warm.

We don't really have anything negative to say about this hotel. It was nice and cozy and met our purpose of being close-by the train station.

Cozy place in a great location. Had everything that one needs. Good breakfast with nice reception staff and owner.

The walls are practically made of paper :) You can really hear when someone is walking down the hall or moves a chair in the other room. So just hope for a quite night ;)

The staff was quite friendly, however they didn't agree to switch my room when I asked as it was very very close to the train tracks and I expected it would be difficult to sleep. The location of the hotel was good.

My room was facing the train tracks. Super close. During the night it was absolutely horrible and difficult to fall asleep, as the trains kept passing and honking without a pause. The bed was basically 2 single beds put together so not really comfy to sleep. The room and its walls were not noise isolated, I heard my neighbors of the next room screaming and talking. No shampoo or conditioner in the shower. Room was quite small. Curtains didn't close so there it was not possible to make the room dark. Also it was very warm in the room even that outside wasn't - I wanted to keep the window open but I couldn't, because of the noise from the trains passing and honking, but eventually I did, what actually didn't even help the noise and was still warm in the room. (no air conditioner). Overall quite old hotel and expensive for what you actually get. I don't think I will stay again there.

Easy enough to find, walking distance to the harbor, grocery store, bakeries.

The room is very small, but otherwise nice. No AC but it’s probably rarely needed. I was comfortable with the provided fan.

Noisy environment

Close to downtown and railwaystation. Around 5 minutes walk. Perfect when you walk home after dinner party. Quiet area.

Poor first impression due to scaffolding on building and entrance doorway very basic. However the reception was clean and pleasant, the receptionist was very helpful and helped change our first impression of the hotel. The room could not be faulted. I think this hotel was a great find.

Good for oldies and retired folks and not for young people

No staff to unlock entrance door after 10pm. Location is quite far from the centre. Others preferred and cheaper. No English Channel or cable television. Just regular free channels on television offered.

Well located hotel with clean rooms and a decent breakfast.

It met all expectations

The hotel is alongside a busy road but you are not bothered by it during sleeping.Our room had access to the balcony that you share with four other rooms. No problem as you can easily lock off your room via the electric blinds. Also quite handy to darken the room as the curtains are not very dark and don't close very good. The hotel has a separate garage for bikes as we were informed beforehand through quite direct messages and responses. Apart from that there is not a lot of facilities the hotel offers other than cold drinks from a central fridge and a small aircon unit that works with water in the room (we didn't try it though). No fridges or coffeemaker in the room. Simple amenities in the bathroom.

The staff was a bit distant, though there to help. The hotel room was sufficiently spacious and had sufficient seating, but the bathroom was really small. It didn't have a working ventilation so everything got very damp soon. Also because the warm water regulation was difficult. Also the elevator is quite small and you need to go up some stairs before getting to them. So not accessible a all for handicapped people. The entourage of the hotel is all a bit faint and there is hardly anything that you will remember of this hotel after a while.

The bad thing was that there was no refrigerator in the room, no kettle, no breakfast item in the room and they called me to check out before 12:00pm

Everything was ok.

The staff was amazing. Got there early for check-in. They were very accommodating, even serving coffee in the lounge. Katie gave directions to the Messe, where Cavaluna was taking place, as this was my overall goal. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the train, the harbour and the Messe Centre. Room and Bed were comfortable. Enjoyable stay.

There is an elevator, but there are steps to get to it. Maybe a ramp on the side would make luggage easier.

Reception staff was very friendly and accomodating! The room (to the back, towards the train tracks) was surprisingly quiet with the windows closed. I found everything clean and the bed quite good for a hotel bed (as in not too soft). The lounge area with a small bar looked welcoming and inviting.

Wifi in the room, the last one on the aisle, did not quite reach the bed.

Hotel room was clean and generally comfortable. Breakfast was EXCELLENT, and the breakfast host was friendly and attentive. Front desk was also very friendly. The location was all right. Close to the train station.

Our hotel room faced the train tracks, which wasn't a big deal. However, on Friday night and well into Saturday morning at 7 am, you could hear music from the nearby nightclub or disco. Since there is no air-conditioning, it was not easy to keep the windows shut all night. So, with the windows open, you could hear the music blaring from 9 pm well into 7 or 8 am.

Our room was ready when we arrived and we were allowed to checkin 3o minutes early. The hotel is familiar with the Münsterland Giro and made accommodations for it, including secure bike parking in the conference room, serving breakfast earlier than usual, and providing luggage storage and showers after checkout. The staff working in the breakfast room were especially friendly and went above and beyond to take care of us.Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The beds and pillows were comfortable. There was plenty of hot water. A locked garage is available for touring and eBike storage. Even though the train tracks were not far away, we were not bothered by noise outside and slept well.
