Sol Torremolinos - Don Marco Adults Recommended

We was here one year ago and breakfest, launch and dinner was much better.

The room was tiny , there was a smell and air con wasn’t cool , they sent an engineer but was no better .Paid for pool view and didn’t get it as hotel was full

Plenty of sunbeds, several pools to enjoy, very clean and spacious room. Helpful and nice staff:)

No hair dryer or slippers in the room. Air conditioner wasn’t working on arrival, though it was fixed quickly. I expected everything to be ready without needing to call. Buffet could be better, and it’s a pity that drinks are excluded.

Breakfast was nice, room was fantastic, has everything you could want and location is perfect!

The rudeness of one of the male members of staff behind the bar. My 18yr old son stood waiting to be served for a good 20 minutes, it wasn't busy so I went to see where he was. He was standing at the bar with cash in hand and a group of older women approached and were immediately asked in front of my son for their order. He was clearly waiting to be served but not one member of staff acknowledged him. He told me he was repeatedly ignored by this one particular bar man. Why?

Very nice and professional team at the front desk, hotel is very clean and maintained, parking garage right under the the building. I would recommend rooms with direct Seaview.

Breakfast choice is good, but could have a bit more variation.

Great location, room was in an ideal place, plenty of sun beds and pools. Adults only areas . Good selection of foods. Only short drive from airport.

Food choice seemed repetitive , could do with variation. Indoor pool needs updating it was a bit smelly.

The staff were, in the main, friendly. The location is good, near the beach, bars and restaurants. The room was modern and comfortable.

The room could have been cleaner. The pool areas are in need of some TLC, repainting, touch up etc. The main thing was this is advertised as adults recommended... which is misleading as this is clearly a family and not purely for adults . The over 16 pool was regularly frequented by kids as a the jacuzzi, with no staff in sight to address. The restaurant was v busy and, although the food was very good and plentiful, the overall meal experience wasn't great. Way to busy, kids screaming and running about and just too many people in the one place so it was an ' in and out' facility.

There was a lot of construction on whilst we were there but I suppose it has to be done during the off peak seasons

The reception staff were very helpful and the hotel was very clean and modern. The only real downside for us was the food, I would definitely only recommend to go b and b as the food was repetitive and bland. We paid for half board but didn’t use it all the time due to the lack of choice of food.

We loved the friendly staff and the sea front views from the sun deck. There were always sun beds available throughout the day as they have multiple pool areas.

Our room had a couple of maintenance issues which didn't stop us enjoying our time, but it did mean we had a couple of disturbances during our day. We were slightly annoyed to find one entire hotel being completely refurbished and once again it didn't stop us enjoying ourselves, I would just have rather received information on this before arriving.

They had nice pools outside which we didn’t use due to travel during winter and the weather wasn’t suitable. We opted for half board, and the food options were nice. My friend required gluten and lactose free foods and they had a pretty good selection of foods for her to choose from.

They couldn’t maintain a comfortable temperature in the dining areas. When it was full of people, it was not only hot, but there was a sense of lack of air, very stuffy. I asked the staff about it, but they simply said the AC was centrally controlled. There was no bathroom in the room per se. The toilet and shower opened directly into the room and the sink was literally inside the room. Since my friend and I weren’t a couple, it was uncomfortable to undress for a shower for example. Or to use the toilet at night as handwashing was done right in front of the other person. The garden area was great with sunbeds.

Bathroom situation is dreadful

I have stayed in the main Melia costal del Sol hotel for over 12 years. This year I chose Do Marco. It was very nice, great food, very quiet room, friendly staff, just two small negatives - bed pillows were very uncomfortable - too soft, not supportive. Second negative, choice of wine in restaurant was poor. I couldn’t buy a glass of wine as a solo traveller- and when I bought a bottle of wine, it wasn’t good €21!! I left it behind! The hotel needs to review wine list.

The sun all day.the beautiful views. The spotless rooms. The evening entertainment. The food.all fabulous.

Cute room with comfortable bed, breakfast with lots of options and without having to wait. Location is convenient for the beach, dining out and to get to the old town quickly. Lots of sunbeds where to sunbathe or relax! Being low season it was easy to park nearby for free.

Being on the first floor the view wasn't as beautiful as we had imagined from the pictures. Cleaning prior check in could have been a bit more thorough.

The room and location was good and very clean. That’s all we can say about this hotel.

The Don Marco has no Dining Room and meals have to be taken in the adjoining Don Pedro Hotel. There were lots of children in this dining room and it was very noisy defeating the object of the advertised “Adults Recommended” tag for the Don Marco. You shouldn’t be expected to stay at one hotel and use facilities in a different hotel which is cheaper. The Bar area in the Don Marco was again very noisy because hotel guests from the Don Pedro including children used this facility. There was also no waiter service at all, only to clear glasses. Not a good experience for a 4star hotel.
