Pros +
- Pools and proximity to beach
- Location was greatRoom was comfortable.Lots of variety in the restaurant.
- Location is great, hotel has exposure to the see front, you can go for long walks. We really enjoyed Italian a la carte restaurant. The staff was nice and friendly at the check-in. Not far from Malaga easily reachable by car/taxi.
Cons -
- all inscusive food offering was poor quality. Whilst the room booked was basic, it overlooked, and was overlooked by neighbouring hospital
- I feel the entire property should be non smoking.
- Despite December visit the hotel was very busy! There were long queues and waiting time to enter the restaurants. It was not clear at the beginning which outside pools are heated but the staff helped clarify.

Hotel is nice, clean in general Room cleanliness could do with little more attention to detailsFood wasn’t greatDrinks were fineStaff were ok, some great and some just a wee bit rude & uninterested
Food needs to be improved for a 4 * establishment
The staff, especially the cleaning crew, was super nice and hard working. There was a wide variety of food and three different restaurants to choose from, but after a few days, I got a bit weary of the same choices. Some in our family suspect they got food poisoning from the food, but it is hard to say if it was the food there or something else.
The rooms were not very spacious, nor that comfortable. The extra sofa bed was super uncomfortable to sleep on. The construction of the hotel buildings is rather flimsy and you can feel drafts coming through the windows.
Great hotel. This is our third Christmas here as they do it all very well. All The staff work extremely hard to make your experience at this RIU hotel very special at this time of year. Our room was on the sixth floor, side sea view which is perfect for sitting on the balcony watching the sunset. The room is a great size with tea, coffee, kettle tray and fridge. Also two seater sofa and tv.
There isn't anything at this hotel that we didn't like. Only the weather! We have had two Christmas seasons here and the weather has been exceptional. But this year it was hit and miss but didn't spoil our experience.
Everything was great! Food, pool, sun
Coffee
Good location, gym and sauna. Netx to the beach.
Staff, restaurants are noisy
Staff very friendly and helpful. Spotless rooms. Excellent choice of food
Nothing. We go there every year.
The interaction with the working staff was exceptional they were friendly.
We are a family of five who specifically booked two rooms at this RIU property and sent a request well over a month in advance to ensure the rooms were together and that a crib would be provided for our toddler. Neither request was honored. Instead, we were placed in two separate rooms—one on the ground floor and another upstairs—while traveling with five bags, a stroller, and three children. This arrangement was completely impractical and unacceptable. The so-called “family rooms” were shockingly small, poorly presented, and nothing like the advertised photos. Noise from cars outside made it impossible to rest, and the “view” was merely of parked vehicles. This is not what one expects from RIU, a brand I have stayed with before and trusted to deliver consistent quality. When I questioned why our clearly stated requests had been ignored, the dismissive response was that “you booked through a computer.” If I had known that booking through a third party would mean my requests were disregarded, I would have chosen a different hotel entirely. The staff’s unwillingness to take responsibility was deeply unprofessional. We left after just 24 hours. Booking.com had to intervene directly via my personal phone, as the hotel refused to respond to emails. Adding to the disappointment, the property was visibly overbooked, with busloads of tourists overwhelming the pools and facilities. The entire experience was chaotic, overcrowded, and far below the standard promised. In summary, this was a horrendous stay: misleading advertising, unkept promises, dismissive staff, and an environment wholly unfit for families. RIU failed to deliver even the most basic expectations of comfort and service. The only saving grace were the actual workers (not the front office staff) they were helpful and kind.
A number of swimming pools within premises, spa with Turkish bath, gate opening straight on the beach, ciringuito for snacks or lunch, all inclusive
Everything was very good! Would say it’s good value for money and you can spend all day there and it’s still close to Malaga.Food could be a bit better quality but there was definitely many options. Maybe make the selection smaller but quality higher would be a good idea. But all staff was friendly and facilities fine! We recommend!
nice family friendly hotel
bathroom had unpleasant odor, sink was clogged, wouldn't drain water. towels need to be replaced to different color, towels were very old. food was plenty but most of the time tasteless. Italian restaurant was complete disappointment.
Clean, good location ,good food. Although entertainment was just ok.
I found the hotel deep and not very wide I know it’s a town and sea front hotel But when busy a bit clostrafobic
Great location, three pools, place is clean and easy going.
One guy on reception was gruff and unfriendly (not Mario who was lovely).
Great facilities around the hotel plenty of pools and places to eat , had a wedding anniversary meal in Dolce Vita staff where really attentive and food was brilliant
The room we where allocated overlooked a mental institution facility which not only was a poor view but when sat out on balcony there was loads of shouting a distressing screams I get the hotel are unable to do anything about this but with no warning it spoiled the balcony for us would definitely choose to have a better room next time
For an all-inclusive hotel the food was of good quality and the selection was comprehensive. The fact that there were different pools in different areas of the hotel complex was also good because you could select the pool and the environment that worked for you.
I am highly critical of the sound level during the shows. I measured the volume for one of the shows and with 80-90 dB you should not really get too close especially not together with children (even though many parents did not seem to worry). What's more, even the sound at the mini disco was very loud (one of the evenings - not so much the other evening).
One price to pay and all inclusive, no hidden charges
Sone of the alcoholic drinks were watered down and not nice
The hotel was fantastic, very clean and welcoming. The staff are superb hard working and friendly. The check in and check out process is slick and courteous at every level. The choice at meal times was very adequate and lovely. The bar service was first class with good quality products.Well done Team Riu Costa Del Sol.We loved our stay and will return.
Nothing we had no complaints.
