The Maria room was clean, private, and relaxing.

Was not crowded, the boutique hotel was very relaxing and quiet.

The place is incredible! So beautiful and peaceful. Just a few rooms so nothing feels crowded ever. Perfect place to rest by the pool or lake and enjoy a few drinks.The team is amazing! If I may be a little picky, the wifi was not the best. But hey.. it was great to disconnect! Hehe :)

Everything was extraordinary. The location was absolutely stunning, everything was truly perfect. The staff, every one of them, was pleasant and helpful. The food and drinks were delicious. It was the perfect hotel.

Beautiful lake-facing property. Had one of the two rooms built into a cave on the water which had a fun mini private beach/jetty area. Very lucky to be here in the first few days of the season in Spring with sunny weather. Splashed out on the tasting menu with wine pairings which was a very memorable special meal.

The room was very nice. The property was great too. Staff were very friendly and professional

The hotel was stunning and the staff were very helpful. The drinks and food were amazing and they offered a hotel taxi service for less than any other taxi you could book away from them.

Even though the gardens and pool are stunning, they had hundreds of flies on the pool furniture that made it impossible to use. It was probably because of the time of year and it was hard to control nature being so close to the lake.

Hotel, Garden, Balcony, Lake and Swimming pool arrangement is amazing, so uncomplicated and unobtrusive, but excellent service on highest level, every wish fulfilled bevor asked.Our beloved dog more than welcome too.

This is one of our favourite places in the world:) we love Lario and all of the stuff, we had our wedding here 5 years ago and the place is just stunning as well as its amenities, food and people who takes care of the guests) thanks a lot to Lurde, Alice, Thomas and chef Luca for making our stay superb and making us feel that we are welcomed. We feel like we are at home when visiting Lario.?

The villa is absolutely beautiful. The photos don't do it justice. The grounds are beautifully kept and the view is breathtaking. The rooms are very clean and stylish. We stayed in a converted cave room which was very different and so unique.

The hotel was beautiful with lovely grounds. The staff were incredibly helpful. We had one meal in the restaurant which was magnificent.

Thought the bar area was lacking in atmosphere.

Amazing Villa with a 5 star views of the Lake and restaurant. Staff was extremely friendly and all the amenities were great, including the pool and the garden. Location is also very nice, walking around town was very pleasant.

We had some issues with the shower, if we wanted to use the big shower head, the whole bathroom was getting flooded. Also hot water was not available one of the evenings, and nobody reached out to us to tell us, until I called reception to ask. I'd expect better for the money we paid.

Gorgeous lakeside setting, efficient and helpful staff and lots of lovely places to relax when the sun shines.

Our room was a bit dated, with a terrible shower and very uncomfortable leather armchairs. We also didn’t love the fine dining restaurant - so much raw seafood.

The resort was outstanding and we had a wonderful time. The view from our room was exceptional. The reception staff were very helpful in suggesting restaurants. The restaurant staff were very attentive.

I did think the drinks at the pool bar and in the grill room were a bit overpriced.

The hotel and the room were lovely and in a beautiful location.

The food was abysmal. We had lunch when we arrived and the pizza we were served was awful. It was basically tomato and mozzerella on a large pre-made bread roll. We then had breakfast the following day and that was also awful. My husband chose the eggs benedict which resembled cheese on toast with an egg and some poorly cooked bacon on top. If it was hollandaise sauce on top of some bread it was not freshly made. I ordered the crepes which appeared to also have been made previously and then slightly warmed up that morning. My bacon had not been cooked properly and was still soggy.When I mentioned this to the receptionist at check out she just smiled. She clearly didn't take my criticism on board as no one from the hotel has been in touch to apologise.

Absolutely wonderful stay. My wife and I visited for our honeymoon, and were treated like absolute royalty. The property itself is gorgeous, with sweeping views of the lake. Our room was finely furnished, and had a large circular window looking out directly onto the lake. However, what really stole the show was the service, in particular, the concierge Lurde. She is so friendly and knowledgable and kept us from making more than one travel blunder. Yes, Villa Lario is expensive, but we felt it was more than worth it.

A few things - Villa Lario is not easy to get to, and you have to take a taxi to get to the main ferry stop in Varenna. It also would've been a bit better if there was a cheaper dining option on site. Amandus, the restaurant, is very good, but it is an upscale restaurant.

Everything but especially the staff (Alice!), the location directly on a peaceful part of Lake Como, the service, the privacy, the food and the incredible room.
