This property with its office, breakfast room with terrace, restaurant with beautiful patio close to the lake was quite magical. We could not have asked for a better reception.

This family run business is a labor of love and they are so friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Breakfast is available starting at 8am. It would be good to start earlier, like 7am.

We loved our stay at Mamma Ciccia. The convenient location, just a short walk from the station, lake, ferry and plenty of restaurants and cafés. The apartment was clean, spacious and very comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and we would return.

A gem away from the maddening crowds, great location, good breakfast, the hotel restaurant was excellent and all the staff were superb

The lake is 100m away, you can have breakfast outside. The location is excellent, the nearby region is a hiddem gem.

Outside the room there is a little piazza and it was noisy until 22h. The people in the room above were often a bit loud until midnight.

It is in the center of town but away from noisy activities. It was on a very quaint small plaza. Breakfast was outside between two buildings that were lovely.

My room was the first one after coming up from the stairs and I can hear conversation from the registration room downstairs and people coming through.

So glad we stayed here. We were lost (just v. tired I think as it's very easy to find) and a lovely Signore assisted and found Ciccia who then walked us to reception. Lovely to walk around, greeting/nods by the locals like we were friends or neighbors. Plenty of places to eat, sit, smash ice cream, relax by the waters edge or park. Our apartment was spacious and clean. Thoroughly recommend staying on this side of Lake and taking the (hourly) train to Veranna to take the more regular ferries to the towns on L.Como.

The room was clean, spacious, and in a good location. The hotel and restaurant staff were friendly.

The parking situation is a bit difficult the first time you do it.

We had a truly nice stay at this cosy hotel, full of historical character and set in a peaceful, quiet town by the lake. The location is perfect—not only serene and relaxing, but also well-connected by train and ferry.A special thanks to all the staff, especially at the reception, who were incredibly helpful with tips and recommendations. Everyone was kind and genuinely cared about the guests, which made us feel very welcome.The breakfast was of high quality with a great variety, and the hotel restaurant served delicious food—I highly recommend trying it!All in all, a wonderful place to relax and a great base for visiting many nearby attractions.

Thin walls :(

We had a wonderful stay here. When we arrived something was wrong with our initial room and they were so kind about it and gave us a free upgrade. The location was amazing and the food in the restaurant is very good. The best ravioli I ever had! The breakfast that was included was also great. We just felt so welcome and so well taken care of, the whole staff is so kind and warm. We will definitely come back here! 10/10 would recommend.

Beautiful location in a middle of old town on a shore of Lake Como. We could enjoy view of lake just with one step from our room that led straight in to the street. Very cosy and chill hotel with nice restaurant. Breakfast was small but with good selection with something for everyone.

Weak Wi-Fi

I booked a simple 1 bed room but the bed was in fact very spacious and the room I good size - bigger than I anticipated. The breakfast was delicious - plenty of choice. Mamma Ciccia is located in a quiet village on the shore of Lake Como - with an excellent rail service a short distance from the hotel. I wanted to explore the eastern shore of Lake Como and the location was perfect. I ate at the restaurant every evening - the food was excellent - better than many restaurants I had visited during my stay in Italy. All of the staff were friendly and helpful - and were patiant with my attempts at speaking Italian. I needed to make a sudden change to my itinerary and the owner could not have been more helpful providing me with an apartment for my extra nights. I cannot rate this more highly.

Nothing at all

The location was perfect for a peaceful stay near the lake. The train station is less than 10 min away and there is a ferry pier too. The room is clean and nicely furnished with a new bathroom. Breakfast was served in the restaurant across the street, simple, but tasty.

We stayed at Mama Ciccia at the beginning of October and the weather was unusually cold. We asked multiple times at the reception to turn up the heating and always got a different answer. However, the result was the same - we had a freezing cold room almost the whole time. It's probably the city or hotel policy, that the heat can't be turned higher than 20°C, but it was just too cold for us. This made our stay uncomfortable. I want to note, that the staff tried to help us the best they could, with an extra blanket and checking the heaters in the room.

This location was handy to the ferry and an easy 10 min walk to the train. Fantastic breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and the staff both helpful and friendly.

Many of the local restaurants were closed for the first 2 days of our stay. Perhaps due to the slow season ( end of Sept)

The staff is very polite and accommodating. Breakfast had a lot of choices, even gluten-free section, meat and cheese selection and sweets.

The rooms are very outdated, not clean as you would expect it and it has a moldy smell. It was cold during our stay so we turned on the AC, but the moldy smell got worse so it was freezing instead. It was very dusty and spiderwebs everyswhere. The WiFi doesn't work and when it does work for a second, it's very slow (0.5 Mbit/s). Also, mobile network doesn't work either.
