NH Ancona

Very nice hotel

Restaurant staff: we booked dinner at 8:00PM Once seated the waiter told us that there was a big table ahead of us and it would be at least 1 hour before we would get served. That is ridiculous

Hotel was comfortable. Walking distance to the historic centre,

Access to the Hotel is up a steep driveway. The restaurant was closed when we stayed except for breakfast.

Great Breakfast

We were charged to park our car in the parking lot of the hotel. The website explicitly stated "free parking" as an amenity of the hotel..

We had a fantastic stay at NH Ancona for my birthday weekend! From the moment we arrived, we received a super warm welcome from the lovely and attentive staff. There’s even a welcome corner with water and sweets, which was such a nice touch.Our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and had everything we needed—kettle, bathrobes, toothbrushes, and all the amenities were eco-friendly, which we really appreciated.The location is also great, just a short walk to the city centre and with a beautiful view of the cathedrals.Highly recommend staying here—would definitely come back!

The staff was very friendly. The room they gave me smelled of cigarettes and I asked to change the room, they changed it without hesitation.

The walls of the rooms are dirty. Old building, only the hall is renovated but the rooms are very old style. I wouldn’t expect that for a four star hotel.

Maria at the desk was really terrific. She has a wonderful friendly, helpful smile.

The staff were very nice, all of them, from reception, housekeeping, and breakfast.The room was a good size, the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was ok.I liked that they had their own parking.

The view from the room (I was assigned a seaside room), the comfort of the facilities (even if it looked old style), the breakfast, and the staff were all great. I stayed in a low-season anyway.

Staff are smiley, helpful hsppy. Always a pleasure staying when in Ancona. Grest views across the sea and town below., Good restaurant

The hotel is fairly convenient to reach from the port where we were arriving from Greece early evening.As time was getting on we had our evening meal at the hotel which was excellent.

I didn't think the breakfast was up to the standard of other NH Hotels we have stayed at, but it was ok.

Stuff is great,friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is also good and there are all things you might need in the room

This time I got very small room with small bathroom and one plug only in each area

Rooms are a little dated. Clean and comfortable but dated.

It is a good hotel

No luggage service, no kettle in some of the rooms, everything is old fashioned.

That they didn't have staff to bring down the luggage at checkout.

Evening meal is not always available

We had a lovely stay at this NH property. Our room was nice, comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful. Especially since we had phone issues. So many thanks for calling taxi's for us and pointing us in the direction we wanted to go.

I wouldn't say Not Like. However, It is on a hill. So if you have mobility issues you may want a car or be prepared to take a taxi.

Surprisingly comfortable stay: spacious room, excellent bed, we had a good rest. Very clean, room had everything you might need. Good position, close enough to train and ferry, and yet close to old town.The stuff - gentleman in the evening shift - was VERY kind and gave us super helpful information about our upcoming ferry travel. Breakfast - also very good, plenty of options, home made cakes, pastries, local specialties, the best breakfast we had on our whole trip, my 11-year old boy enjoyed it. The old town is within 10-15min walk, easily.

Not really a minus, but the route to hotel is uphill, which can be challenging for some people, especially with luggage.

Overall appeal and cleanliness

Top of a hill as we walked from train station and no mention of that in directions

Close to the center on the port. The staff was lovely and helpful. Nice toiletries

It is on a hill. Making it difficult to walk too. If you don’t have a car you need to climb the hill every time. I asked for a port view and got a wall. For both me and my colleague. AC wasn’t working in the lobby and breakfast hall (it was 37 degrees and very humid). Poor staff was sweating. Rooms are simple. Was traveling for work and I needed it to be a place of rest, and it wasn’t the case.
