    Pros +

    • The staff, the location, size of room
    • The room, both restaurants , the staircase ,the bar!
    • The hotel is conveniently located in the old town and you can rent a car at a paid parking

    Cons -

    • My husband and I stayed in an executive suite, it's the most expensive. Nowhere did it say that the room has 2 stairs, you need to go down 2 stairs to reach the toilet. There was no bathroom in the room, the outlet in the bathroom did not work, there was no hot water in the shower in the evening, all the windows of the room overlook the restaurant inside, so it is impossible to sleep until the restaurant closes.
    • The reception area was awkward to walk through to get to our room, usually through the narrow reception space to enter, sometimes we could walk through the restaurant, if the restaurant wasn't busy. The breakfast wasn't good for us, location in the back room was odd and a walk from the table. The food selection was ok but not the best for the hotel. The cost for our light breakfast of cereal, toast and tea was extremely high and the service was distant. Some of the hotel staff were very nice, some quite reserved.
    • It was perfect.

The hotel location, exterior, public spaces and our room were all stunning, a beautiful hotel in a perfect position overlooking a pretty park.

Beautiful renovated hotel in a wonderful location. Excellent bar and restaurants. The staff were lovely, the room was exceptional. The art throughout the hotel phenomenal. The bar has to be one of the most beautiful bars I’ve been in.

    It was perfect.

Everything. Adrian was so helpful, professional and welcoming. Dinner was fabulous and we especially appreciated the later check out to enable us to see the Beaux Arts Museum on Tuesday morning (it was closed on Monday when we planned our visit). This is truly s luxury 5 star hotel and well worth it. We recommend it and will be back.

Room service staff very quick. Spacious & clean room.

Tore my clothes on an exposed nail in a window seat - front desk staff/mgmt didn’t bother to come to the room to investigate (in fact they laughed when told). Subsequently they apologised but the initial reaction was severely disappointing and below the level of service I expect from a Relais & Chateaux hotel.

Nothing - everything was perfect - breakfast service was a little slow

We loved the location of this hotel. It is in a pedestrian area of the old city. The valet staff was completely helpful with the car and our luggage, thus the pedestrian only area made it even more charming. We enjoyed how intimate and comfortable it was. The staff is simply completely pleasant and helpful!! We had dinner in the restaurant there and it was spectacular! This is the place to go when wanting to go to the old-town area of Montpellier.

Some of the staff were attentive and kind, the location is beautiful, and the history of the building is undeniable. The rooms are all different and some are truly works of art. The creations of the bartenders are delicious.

The menu has one poor vegetarian option, and some of the staff seem bothered by your presence and it is not hard to hear the management's constant judgy chatter. The linen is uncomfortable, the service is a constant hit or miss. This hotel does not deserve its 5 stars, only the price follows that guideline.

    10JosephPosted on: 5-10-2023

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was outstanding. The hotel bar is an absolutely beautiful, relaxing place to have a drink, and the restaurant is excellent....I can't say enough good things about the whole experience.
