For exploring Salamanca's amazing historic district, this hotel is very hard to beat. It's located right next to the old Cathedral, it has its own secure underground parking (yay!) and friendly / knowledgeable staff who work the front desk and guest relations. We loved being able to just walk out into the core historic district with only 5-6 city blocks to the Plaza Mayor with an attractive selection of restaurants, bars and tapas places. Our room was spacious, modern, clean and perfect for us as a couple. The bathroom was large and weell done. I will note that there were 3 steps to navigate to traverse from toilet/shower/vanity area and the beds. This particular room configuration could challenge a disabled guest. The beds were comfortable, the WiFi was good, and the small desk and couch/loveseat were welcome additions. We did not eat at the hotel, so cannot comment. The choice of places for breakfast were numerous. Had we stayed longer that one night, we would have tried the breakfast.
The breakfast, location, comfort of bed
It's starting to look a little worn, but still a lovely place to stay
The staff, particularly Miguel, were incredibly helpful with recommendations, last minute parking arrangements, and other personal touches. The location is amazing. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and very comfortable. Would return.
Location
Beds, pillows, extremely uncomfortable!!!
The reception staff was very accommodating and helpful (we have a wheelchair user, and it gets difficult sometimes to park and navigate in Spain)
Loved everything. An old building beautifully restored with a wonderfully modern interior, sitting right next to the extraordinary Cathedral. We're coming back to Salamanca in a month and we're staying here again. It's an exceptional hotel in an amazing setting.
We struggled to find the building as it's a maze of streets and narrow roads. Reception stayed on the phone to talk us in and we arrived to a very friendly welcome.
We knew we were coming to a good place but we didn’t imagine the hotel was so good. The hotel is well located, the rooms are superb, well appointed and very clean. Ample bathroom with all your needs covered. Our arrival was awesome , we were greeted by Elizabeth , a wonderful young lady who introduced us to the city and gave us directions to the major venues in SalamancaOur staying wouldn’t had been the same without her help. She is always cheerful and helpful. We should also commend Martha who also helped us a lot during our staying. What makes the building a great place for staying is its history and the staff.I wouldn’t doubt coming back again.
Lovely staff, lovely comfortable hotel, super location
Lovely experience. The Hotels Restaurant El Bardo (which does not belong directly to the Hotel) was absolutely lovely and great food. Many thanks to Josue, our server, who went above and beyond to make us comfortable at the Restaurant.
Good breakfast. Excellent location. Helpful staff. Nice bath.
Bit pricey for what you get.
Immaculate, quiet, private, ideal location. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfasts beyond fabulous.
Zero complaints!
Location is amazing, besides the old cathedral, really close to everything in Salamanca.Breakfast was really good and the staff very nice.
The room was bright, clean, and comfortable. Our room had an amazing patio with direct views of the New Cathedral, and was easy walking distance to the Plaza Mayor and university. There was a mini-fridge in the room. The bathroom had a large tub and a separate shower. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet had many choices.
The room had significant light pollution at night. While eye masks were provided, they were very uncomfortable. We ended up using the hotel robes to block light from the top of the curtains and our bags to press the curtains to the wall to reduce light from the side gaps. Roll-up binds or shutters would be more effective than the curtains. There was significant street noise, but we found that facet to be charming and everything was very quiet between 10pm (20:00) and 9am (09:00).
Modern business style hotel in an unbeatable historic location
Unimaginative breakfast with truly bad coffee
Location! Right in the ancient downtown!
Parking is very tricky. When we arrived there were no available spaces, we were several blocks away out of old city to park and it was not easy to find the location
Perfect location, it cannot be betterGood service, nice breakfast. Everything is good
Parking is available but not convenient. Small parking spaces, not clear how to exit it. (I would suggest to the hotel administrator to provide the customer with an explanation page, illustrating where and how. )But eventually we parked and left all right. So it was all fine
