Pros +
- Location near the main sights, and beautiful view of the cathedral and the old city walls from our room window. The remains of an old church is used as part of the hotel yard sitting area.
- Location, efficient check-in, clean room, helpful staff
- Great location a short walk from everything in Salamanca. Very affordable with a parking garage a short distance.
Cons -
- Lack of facilities for making coffee and tea in the room.
- No amenities such as complimentary bottles of water, cups in the bathroom, drinking glasses, or cork screw (guests should not have to go downstairs to the reception desk to ask for these basic items); very plain, dull decor; the bed was just ok comfort-wise

The pillows!!
Good location
Found two hairs in two different plates during the breakfast.Room is a bit noise and the pillow is to high ( for me at least)
The hotel is "modern", built on the ruins of the former Church of San Polo, which gives it a unique historical charm. The bathroom was clean, modern, and fully equipped with everything needed. The room was spacious and comfortable, providing a pleasant and restful environment. The location was excellent, right at the entrance of the historic center, making it ideal for exploring the city. The room offered a beautiful view of the Cathedral, adding an extra touch to the overall experience.
While the hotel offered many of the positives I expected, my final rating reflects a few key issues that significantly affected the quality of my stay:The air conditioning only emitted hot air, even when set to cooling mode. Salamanca can get quite warm on sunny days, and unfortunately the room became uncomfortably hot. We tried leaving the windows open for a while, but eventually had to close them to sleep. The pillows were extremely uncomfortable and too firm, making it difficult to get proper rest. The noise level was the most disruptive aspect. On multiple occasions, noise from other guests was clearly audible, and twice I was abruptly woken up by what sounded like someone entering our room. I believe it was another guest in a neighboring room opening windows — possibly due to the heat as well — but the noise carried directly into our space and was quite disturbing. On a trip where rest is essential for exploring and enjoying the destination, we had a very restless night with multiple disruptions, which sadly impacted the overall experience. To be fair, I still recommend Hotel San Polo for its many qualities and good value for money. However, these setbacks — particularly related to comfort and rest — were disappointing and, in my view, essential factors in a hotel stay.
The Hotel was clean, warm, spacious room. It was in a very good location, only 5 minutes to the Cathedral, Convent and University.
No refreshment facilities in the room, no water, no coffee making. Very poor as no opportunity to have any drink at all. Breakfast was not looked after, with many items missing, left to go stale/hard
It is extremelly well located, you can go anywhere by foot within 10/20 minutes. The room was really spacy and had a good bathroom, a TV, a safe and a closet. Pretty standard hotel room.
We went there directly from Sortelha, Portugal by motorcycle and right when I got there I dropped my bike standing really close to a car that was apparently from a employee, that employee got out and seem ready to blame me for any scratches that they had in their car and was a bit rude until they realized we where staying there. Also, the WI-FI didn't work. For motorcycle travellers:They don't have a place for you to leave your motorcycle, apparently the police will quickly get ahead of you if you leave it in front of the hotel (at least, that's what the hotel staff told me) so I left my motorcycle in the first block after the main avenue, right behing the hotel, I parked it side by side with to local's scooters, it seems like a secure city but I would be careful, also there was a lot of police so be careful where you park your motorcycle.
Great location, friendly staff, nice rooms
Small room for the family but decent enough space.
My stay at Hotel San Polo was nothing short of extraordinary! Nestled right next to the breathtaking ruins of the Iglesia de San Polo, the hotel effortlessly blends modern comfort with historic charm. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well looked after. The location is unbeatable — just a short stroll from Salamanca’s iconic Plaza Mayor and other key landmarks. It was the perfect base for exploring the city’s rich culture, vibrant streets, and incredible architecture. The room was spotless, stylish, and extremely comfortable, with large windows offering a unique view of the ancient church ruins — waking up to that was something truly special. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the quiet atmosphere made for restful nights. The staff went above and beyond, always friendly and happy to help with anything I needed — from local recommendations to making sure my stay was perfect. Their warmth and professionalism added a personal touch that made me feel right at home.If you're heading to Salamanca and want a hotel that combines history, comfort, and outstanding service — Hotel San Polo is the place to be. I can’t recommend it highly enough and would return in a heartbeat!
Everything
Great location, big clean rooms.
This hotel is quite outdated and could use an upgrade, but to be fair, the price reflects that, so overall it was okay. The absolute highlight of the stay was the staff – incredibly kind and helpful, which made a big difference. The location is great.
The location
Unhelpful staff and a general run-down tatty impression.
Everything ! Walking distance from all tourist attractions. Clean, comfortable, beautiful building and the views.
Stylish hotel next to church ruins, handy for central Salamanca. Comfortable room and scenic location.
Everything was fine. Loved it especially my view of the Salamanca Cathedral from my huge window.

The hotel is in a excellent location, the rooms are average, AC do not work and the pillows are a disgrace …. the bed is ok .The staff is very rude with the exception of the waiters at the restaurant. Our case we a good deal but full price is 160 euros a night and for that money is not worsted.Parking close by and cost 25 euros a day .
