Hotel Matilde by gaiarooms

Location is great, but hard to get to by car.

Listing implied that parking was included, but it costs €17-€19 per day and is not on site of the hotel. There is no front desk, so no person to get help from. Listing said A/C was included, but the unit only had heat, and the room was stuffy. We couldn't open the windows, because the room opened to the street, and it was noisy and not private. Also, the booking suggested that there would be a double bed, but the room only had two twin beds.

We arrived early, we were able to check bags at a nearby hotel. Staff was very friendly.Rooms were clean, ideal location.

Elevator noise could be heard even though it was down the hall. Also plumbing was a bit noisy.

1. Check-in is quite tricky: it is nowhere indicated that if you pay in cash, you have to pay at different hotel. Also, you still have to present IDs even though you have already checked-in online. So don’t bother yourself2. Rooms are missing some cutlery: you have nothing to stir the provided sugar with 3. No fridge4. Some construction works began at around 9 AM.

Beautiful, very tidy room, comfortable bed, good shower, but best of all an AMAZING roof terrace with wonderful views, ideal location at the very heart of the city. Exceeded all my expectations at a very good price point.

Staff didnt respond to whatsapp, didnt see any staff during the stay. Walls and doors are paper thin, so if you have noisy neighbours, I recommend earplugs. Breakfast was medocre and a second cup of coffee was charged separately. No fridge in the room.

Great value. Great location in old centre. Need some degree of smartphone knowledge to work out the virtual keys and check in set-up . Only issue was the noise from the street outside until 4 am with revellers heading home. Too warm to keep the window closed. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything works without any contact with a receptionist. Not for the less techy travelers

The sound isolation is really poor. The bathroom needs a renovation. The check in was not comfortable - I had to go to the other hotel. The lift is not recommended to use.

Avoid this place, it is just a headache.

Central location, price for pet to stay, dog treats and bed provided, keyless access, response time from staff via mobile communications.

Room was noisy, mostly street noise due to balcony door not sealing properly/low insulation.Use of the lift was misleading, we could not decide if it was safe or not.

Hated the self service check in. No reception area/staff to help provide information. Everything done by telephone Car park is a good 10 minutes walk awayOne and only staff member was in attendance for breakfast which was good

Location, cleanliness, air con, buzzy location but quiet.

No tea and coffee making facility in the room. Bright facade lights - okay for us as we had eye masks but some will find it very bright at night.Breakfast - For: the pastries - Against : everything else. Check-in not easy. We’d been told 3pm but online set for 4pm. Fortunately a guy was there who helped out.Room key card didn’t work for either room or front door.

What I liked most was the view from the balcony. Also the hotel has a great location. You can take a 1 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor

The neighbors were too noisy (throwing doors, etc)

The location was great, so do the room in general.

The bathroom has a funny smell, maybe cause the extractor didn't work and the window stays always closed
