Different levels of lush gardens and cobblestone walkways. Beautiful vistas overlooking the countryside out to the ocean. Absolutely breathtaking, while also charming and romantic. Gorgeous pool, spa and outdoor fire with cozy seating. Food was delicious and the breakfast included was top noch!

Absolutely beautiful setting and property. Our room was lovely and had everything we wanted. Loved the evening treats and bedtime stories left on the bed. Breakfast was fabulous and we were able to sit outside overlooking the valley. Stunning. The pool area was fabulous with a spa area below. The staff were fabulous too. Loved everything!

Location and design

Breakfast(not tasty, flies), food choice for dinner and room interior (dark, no windows, tv didn’t worked). There are no places in front of swimming pool for every guest (if you wasn’t quick enough you will be in garden)

Beautiful property, lovely staff. Rural location with delicious restaurants nearby (to include the hotel one!).

Beautiful view and location. The staff are all in all very friendly, especially the bar staff who is also very responsive. The swimming pool are is well placed within the property and provides for a relaxing atmosphere.

Attention to detail - there are far too many things to list where the detail was lacking, thus not warranting a five star experience for the price of the room. Just a few are: 30 minute check-in wait, no one to help with luggage upon arrival in heavy rain, furniture and carpet in room are tired, the refrigerator did not work and was not fixed even when asked, even though the outside temperature was below 20c that day we could not heat the room because the heating system was off, there was no Wi-Fi for a 24h period, etc. The potential is great, but it needs a lot of polishing.

The Hotel is beautiful and in a really nice place. There is a nice view from most of the rooms, and the restaurant. The breakfast is really good with huge variety whether you order from the menu or just go to the buffet. There is a lot of staff and they were all really nice and helpful. The rentable bikes were good, well kept.

Unfortunately, many small things to be improved. The biggest one is the comfort in the room. We were there in the start of may, which they claimed is still heating season in Croatia (I don't know why or how.. in May?! in Croatie? but it's not my country, not my culture) and we couldn't turn it off in the room. When we arrived, the thermometer said it's 30 degrees C in the room which is insane (while it was 25C and sunny outside). The AC was not working due to the heating season and the heating could not be turned off?! In a 5 star hotel we were sweating during the night. If you wanted to open the windows for a laugh, there were no bug/mosquito nets.. in a 5 star hotel?! You woke up covered in bug bites. I don't understand how other guests didn't mention this.Another small thing, while the restaurant was good, a bit high in price, but generalyl quite good, we were charged for bread and that was not highlighted on the menu. After we ate it and mentioned to the waiter that it was really tasty, (which it was, it was superb) he just brought a new basket without even asking if we wanted one more. Now, I don't care about the 10 euros (2x5), but the fact that we weren't even asked if we wanted another basket, and it was not highlighted on the menu, it left a bit of a sour taste in our mouth.

San Canzian is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful part of Croatia. We stayed in the three bedroom villa which was modern and luxurious without being characterless or out of place with its surroundings. The staff were friendly and endlessly accommodating. Our children were 1, 5 and 9 when we visited and the staff always made sure we were looked after. The restaurant was also very good and the concierge extremely helpful with suggestions for places to eat and activities we all enjoyed. We would love to go back.

Not really a negative but I would say that San Canzian is not specifically set up as a family/child friendly resort (and doesn't advertise itself as such). The fact that everyone was so friendly and accommodating meant that this really didn't matter to us and there were definitely other young children at the hotel. Some families might prefer accommodation that is specifically meant for families with young children though.

Nothing to complain

Staff was extremely nice and helpful. We had a situation where we needed to exit our room for 2 hours due to some repair work, which was quite unpleasant. Ladies at the reception really went out of their way to make it as comfortable as possible, organising massages, etc. Thanks ladies for that!Good breakfast.

The fact we needed to exit our room due to repair work. First the hotel communicated it would begin at 09:30, so we went to breakfast and for coffee. Returned at 11. Repair men showed up then and we needed to exit the room for 2 hours. I understand it is not easy to arrange external workers. However, then the room should have not been set for reservation...

Wonderful food both for breakfast and dinner. A truly great atmosphere throughout the hotel. A great place to stay for a couple of days and enjoy the peace and nature of Istria.

Excellent breakfast, with high quality ingredients. Excellent restaurant, albeit expensive.Tastefully furnished, beautiful swimming pool, surrounded by a well-kept park.

Outrageously expensive hotel compared to what is offered: for these figures, much more attention to detail is expected. Lounge and common spaces are too small. The SPA is not adequate to the level of the structure, it has no dressing rooms, there is only a sauna and the whirlpool is very noisy. Massages are very expensive.

This hotel is absolutely perfect! I adored every aspect of it! The location is wonderfully secluded, providing a serene and quiet atmosphere. The beaches are not too far away by car, If you prefer not to stay by the pool. The restaurant and the food they serve are truly outstanding! I mean it, genuinely! The entire staff was exceptionally pleasant, helpful, and really professional. I absolutely loved my time here and I cant wait to come back!

A truly exceptional experience. Felt pampered from arrival to departure. Warm welcome and help with luggage with small golf electric car was amazing. Room decorated in nice modern- village style, with many small details. Luxury cosmetics, welcome note and cookies, and many other nice details. Great breakfast with local and fresh food, all was 1st class and super kind staff both in restaurant and reception. Great location for enjoying Kozlovic, Kabola and other wineries, enjoying Istria, but also visiting Venice with only 2 hours distance.

The views, food, landscaping and service was amazing!

The pools were not heated during our visit although stated differently, however, upon asking, it was due to a malfuncion of the system and they usually are heated at all times.
