Top Tips
- Book 6-12 months ahead for Masters Week (early April), as hotel rates in North Augusta and Augusta can surge over 100% due to extreme demand. Confirm your reservation directly with the property to secure event week amenities commonly offered by top chains, such as flexible cancellation policies or event shuttles.
- Compare hotel options in both North Augusta, SC and Augusta, GA, as hotel location determines state and local lodging taxes, which can vary by up to 8%. Check if your rate already includes relevant taxes, a common practice at major hotel chains to aid budgeting.
- Rent a car unless your hotel offers a confirmed event shuttle, since public transportation between North Augusta and destinations like Augusta National or downtown restaurants is limited. Check with your hotel for on-site car rental partners or accessible shuttle scheduling.
- Select Riverfront (West River) hotels for walkable access (under 350 m/less than 5 minutes) to the North Augusta Greeneway and riverfront parks. Guests can enjoy step-free paths and scenic routes ideal for jogging or wheelchair users; confirm accessible routes when you book.
- Most suburban hotels in North Augusta offer free on-site self-parking, while downtown Augusta hotel parking typically costs $15-25 per day outside of event weeks. Verify overnight parking accessibility if traveling with mobility equipment, as many chains provide dedicated accessible spaces.
- Summers in North Augusta are hot and humid, with July highs reaching 90-92°F (32-33°C). From June to November, inland storms can lead to heavy rain or occasional travel delays. Check if your hotel offers in-room climate controls, pool access, and updated emergency information.
- For remote work, confirm Wi-Fi speeds (minimum Mbps and wired options) and meeting room availability before booking, as many listings omit these details. Many major hotel brands provide business centers or complimentary high-speed internet; ask for accessibility features such as visual alarms if needed.
