Hotel Sonnwendhof Engelberg

Breakfast was good, location good. Room was small but with lots of windows.

I really enjoyed my stay! The staff were exceptionally friendly, the facilities were clean and convenient for travelers, and the room was cozy with a charming view from the balcony. I also appreciated the option of underground parking. The hotel truly makes an effort to ensure guests have a wonderful experience!

The Location and Mountain view

The pillow was not comfortable, the breakfast was limited and their were no reception after 18:00pm

Wonderful hotel staff, very helpful and super friendly. I took my two dogs along, and the hotel provided blankets and water bowls. Great location and very quiet. Definitely will go back.

We came back to Sonnwendhof third time and it is always perfect! It is perfect welcoming, great rooms and astonishing views, very close to everything you might need, amazing breakfast with multiple choices and some very local products. I like how everything is decorated in the hotel and how ladies working at the hotel care about their guests. It is definitely one of the best family hotels in Switzerland. Engelberg guest card would be timely arranged. Free parking in front of the hotel. I guess we forgot to pay for the city taxi before leaving but my card was charged without any unnecessary stress.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect! Quiet, beautiful views, and a quick walk to both the gondola and town center.

We had stayed here before and were pleased that things were pretty much the same. The location is near the rail station, making it easy to locate.

We wish they offered evening meals on site, rather than across town.

No air conditioning, but we already knew that. It is usually cooler in the evening, but a hot spell came through. We stayed end of June.

Clean and superb breakfast choices. Just beside the train station and a 5 mins walk to gondola ride up to Titlis.Very helpful and friendly staff?We came late at 2300 and has easy access to the hotel.

Nothing but just a suggestion to have a kettle and cup and saucer in the room so guests can make their own tea especially for late check in like us.

The location was great, just next to the train station. The staff were wonderful. The views from the rooms were amazing. The breakfast was delicious. We really liked this hotel and it was good value for money.

It would have been nice to have free coffee/tea making facilities.

Breakfast was great the first morning. Room was basic but okay. 15% discount on ski gear rental at the ski shop around the corner.

Breakfast the second day was scarce with food, probably because there were less people staying in the hotel, but still. We loved the breads the first day. But none was left the second.

Great breakfast and nice / spacious bedrooms. But the best was the friendly staff. They were all very attentive and upon arrival (we arrived a bit late at night) everything was ready for us, including a welcome note both at the reception and the room. Thank you!

It would be amazing if they also offered dinner at the same hotel. The partner hotel / restaurant is very nice but walking there with the small kids takes a while, especially if they are tired from the day.

There was nothing we did not like

Everything was just amazing. Very nice views from the room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast options were versatile and they also made you custom plates if requested. Ski equipment dried overnight in the heated ski-room. All in all very happy and would 100% come again.

All the basics of hotel accommodation were done to a very high standard and the staff could not be any more helpful or friendly. Location was super easy for access to train station, resort centre and main ski lift, all a short walk.

The decor isn’t cosy but all in good condition and spotlessly clean.

No personal at reception to fulfil ur needs if u need after 6 pm like u need pillow or kettle or blanket. it will be served next day . the breakfast was very calculated for each person and u meed to tell them in advance so they can arrange. at Buffett table food was limited . it was being provided but on ur request.
