Pros +
- Staff were very attentive and polite, breakfast was a nice plus and pretty good. Location is fantastic at walking distance from everything. Baggage storage was very helpful. Thank you.
- Breakfast was a very nice spread and offered different items. The location was great, just around the corner from the beach. The room is a bit on the older side and could use some work. Overall, the staff was fantastic and quite pleasant.
- It feels luxurious. The receptionist was very friendly and kind. The breakfast were nice on a beautiful indoor/outdoor patio. The room was spacious and nice.
Cons -
- Construction in the building was loud since very early in the morning and ruined the charm of the building. Rooms could use some update. Parking in the area is challenging.
- The room did need some minor work, walls were beat up pretty good. Just needs some attention, but it didn't make that much of a difference, just aesthetically unpleasing.
- The barking toilet! It was the loudest thing we had ever heard coming from a toilet for minutes after every flush. It was comical but also annoying. Like I say about every place in Italy, there are not enough spaces to put things in the shower. The location was fine, but somewhat of a walk to everything.

Great antique building. The rooms are big and comfortable. Staff is very helpful.
Location and exceptional staff.
Cool old place, but there was a strong smell that made it hard to enjoy. Definitely not worth the price. I’ve attached a picture of the antique key from the room.
Great location Fine for one nightBreakfast was good
Room was not clean- dirty pillow cases and bedding, and the bathroom was uncleanThis was rectified when we brought it up however was not a good first impression of the hotelThe mattress was uncomfortable and definitely needs updating, as does the bathroom.
The hotel is centrally located, convenient for visiting nearby cities. I stayed one night and The staff gave me great advice for my stay
Building, location, staff, no problem im beautifull Rapallo

Great location for touring Rapallo and/or Santa Margherita/Portofino. Breakfast was excellent. Great fresh croissants. Staff was super attentive and very helpful.
Outdated tiny rooms. Bathroom was difficult to manage especially the tiny (think smaller than RV) shower. Bed was super uncomfortable.
Location friendly and helpful staff
Property was great but parking was more difficult than expected
The staff at Hotel Portofino were so nice, really friendly And welcoming, which was lovely especially when travelling alone!
walls were a little thin so I'd advise earplugs if you're a very light sleeper, nothing too loud just murmuring from next door.
The staff were incredibly kind and helpful we felt like we were staying with family
Being on the first floor it’s not easy to find until you know where it is
Good help from Ayman in office
Noise from guests outside room on balcony till 1.00 in the morning.
Location is fantastic. Breakfast very good. A simple 2 star that is great value.
Excellent staff - incredibly helpful in all matters. Comprehensive breakfast.
Bathroom shower screen and windows.
This hotel is a gem: super close to restaurants, comfy and beautiful rooms, friendly staff and delicious breakfasts. Wow!
The view from our bedroom window was amazing. Clean comfortable lodging. The host was great.
Lots of steps up to the room but we were well able to access the room and a lift from 1st floor for luggage.
Breakfast on second day was very good. Clean linen. Close walk from train station, centrally located,
The room we were given was atrocious. Ants crawling up the walls. Furniture very old and tired. Beds looked like camp beds. Outlook from window on to a dirty terrace. Bathroom was in such a poor state, shower very small and badly in need of repairs. Work being carried out in building which we hadn’t been made aware of. All in all very disappointing.
