    Cons -

    • The hotel should redesign the reception desk. It is too high so staffs can’t see guests in and out. It presents an unfriendly environment when staffs sometimes don’t greet guests because they don’t see them but guests can still see the staffs.
    • Not what it used to be. Food and personal service decline. Very impersonal
    • The restaurant was very expensive. Fine dining meant a small expensive menu that was well cooked and presented, but small portions not extraordinarily different from others. A tasting menu was very expensive. Breakfast was continental style with limited dishes. Abundant fruit (ready prepared) was however provided free in the room every day. The building itself is only accessible to those capable of walking steep stone steps

Breakfast was very nice and the location is peaceful, all you could hear when the window was open was the sea. The decor is classic and very pleasant. When the weather is really good this would be a good location as you're right next to the beach.

The restaurant was closed on our first night and we found out by getting an email on our way there. The young lady on Reception was on her own and because the restaurant was closed there was no bar service either so we couldn't get a drink that afternoon. This is not the service we expected from a hotel of this classification.

We loved this architectural showpiece on the sea front. The restaurant was excellent - dinner and breakfast

    10MayoPosted on: 4-6-2025

Wonderful service, exceptional food and all set in a beautiful property. The attention to detail such as welcome note and chocs were so appreciated.A very special place to stay in a perfect location

Beautiful villa on the outside, modern, stylish decor on the inside - we loved it. Right at the beachfront within walking distance to the town. Not that you need to go there with a Michelin-starred Restaurant on site.

No kettle or coffeemaker in the room. But prompt roomservice with fresh coffee on the house!

The food was terrible, very expensive prices for very low quality. The room service distes where COLD and not eatable. The fish of the desgustation menú was poor and not tasty.

The hotel itself, design & style was amazing....reminiscent of The Adams Family.....even with oversized doors! Fantastic location on the promenade/back of beach with easy if longish walk into town. Bedroom was a little bijou but warm & comfy with a great bathroom/shower & lovely fluffy towels. A lovely welcoming gift of artisan chocolate florentines were in the room on arrival. (unfortunateley there was no coffee available to go with them). Breakfast was lovely served in the restaurant overlooking the sea (unfortunately the different options were not clearly explained by staff....& our Spanish wasn't good enough either!).

Being advised by the hotel 1 day before we arrived that the restaurant was going to be closed on the evening we were staying there (one of the reasons for booking so we didn't have to go find another place to eat at night). It was also after our free cancellation period. This also meant that when we arrived mid afternoon you could not get a hot or cold drink nor was the bar open.....no refreshment facilities which for a 4 star hotel is poor!

Fabulous location, great bedroom and shower, delicious breakfast

    Shame the restaurant wasn’t open.

This is a stunning old mansion in a wonderful position. We opted for a room with no view but some would have great views. The included breakfast was wonderful. unfortunately the restaurant was not open when we were there.

I was a bit unhappy about the short notice given by the hotel about the restaurant being closed. Also, the coffee at breakfast was very poor. I'm sure having properly made coffee wouldn't be too much to ask.

The property is beautifully decorated, offering a large room with a peaceful beach view. It’s very quiet, making it an ideal place to relax. Upon arrival, we found a note and a bag of Moskovitas (a delicious cookie) on our bed, which was a thoughtful gesture. There is a coffee maker in the room. A complimentary large bottle of water would have been a nice touch to complement it.On a positive note, the breakfast is good, and the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive. Also, the amenities provided are of high quality.Parking is conveniently located at their sister hotel just across the street, which is crucial if you're traveling by car, as parking is very difficult to find anywhere in the village.

Unfortunately, there was in an important downside: the room floor was not properly cleaned. I noticed this because the soles of my white slippers turned black after just one night.

Unusual gothic building, very well restored.Great location, private underground (free) car parking, fab breakfast

Nothing, we have stayed before. We love the town and love the hotel.

What a wonderful hotel in a wonderful location. It was a rare treat to stay in this old mansion with its gourmet breakfasts and balcony with ocean view. The room itself was just “nice,” nothing special except its location and view, with a bigger than usual bathroom. The location and ambiance and breakfast and staff were what made it extra special.

It would have been nice to have access to a cup of tea or coffee in the room or lobby in the afternoon or evening.

Fabulous historic building in Belle Epoch tradition. Lovely comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast. Location couldn’t be improved.

    Honestly nothing

    10MarlaPosted on: 9-30-2024

The breakfast options and quality of the food was excellent. The staff were so professional.

The Villa has only stairs onto the front veranda. This can be challenging for older adults travelling with a larger suitcase.
