Staff were so helpful and accommodating. The property is a bit remote but Hotel employee always made sure we had transportation to Varenna and the ferry.

Thank you so much to Rita & the staff - they truly made this place feel like home for my family and 15 month-old baby. Every morning we were greeted with fresh cappuccinos, homemade croissants & other breakfast goodies. They had a spot set up for my son every morning to eat, and graciously cleaned up our bibs, plates, etc. that we brought every time. Rita also helped with logistics and giving us recommendations on what to do.The actual apartment was very nice & had everything we wanted! The view is outstanding & it's on the route of the Wayfarers path. Note: This hotel is above the Varenna city in a town called Perledo. To get up here, it's a 15 minute walk (at a brisk pace) and 500 feet of elevation gain. It's essentially at the top of the hike to the castle. We are in good shape so we thought it would be no big deal, but found we really only had the energy to do this once or maybe twice per day. The night bus was easy to catch but only leaves once it's full, so it wasn't as good of a solution as I thought it would be. I thought the restaurant on property was just ok. My husband liked it & others staying on property did as well. The restaurant staff was sweet as can be. There is literally nothing else around in Perledo except for this amazing restaurant that's new called La Serra Bistrot ($$$) in walking distance.

A little bit tricky getting to know best way up/down from ferries and Varenna itself. But staff were super helpful. Thanks Rita & Kirsty?

We absolutely LOVED staying here. Breakfast every morning was quite lovely and with a stunning view. The staff, Rita and company, were amazing kind and helpful. We would love to stay here again!

Very clean, spacious rooms. Nice pool. Laundry machine available. Decent breakfast. Walk to varenna.

The walk back up to hotel is not easy. Probably takes 20 minutes and is fairly steep. Would not recommend to older folks or people who don’t want to hike. It was harder than I thought it would be and very hard to get an uber or taxi so beware.

Little gem in Perledo, with stunning views over the lake and the surrounding area, and a short walk to Varenna. Rita, and staff, were very accommodating and warm. We were picked up by a taxi in the train station, and we could check-in earlier and leave our suitcases in the room. We felt that we could have stayed way more than 2 nights if time allowed!

Great spot to get away for a quiet weekend. This spot is up above Como with incredible views from the little village. Very nice to get away from the touristic places while still having great access to pop down into different towns along the lake.

Rita, the host, was lovely. Communication was fast and any questions answered swiftly. The accommodation was lovely, clean and all facilities very good.Quiet and peaceful. Breakfast in the morning was good. Castle Vezio deserves a visit, the views from there are stunning.Thank you.

Excellent hotel up in the hills of Varenna, very peaceful and I can imagine it's an Ideal location in the busy months away from the main town. Rita was the perfect hostess, very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was fantastic and the room was perfect and a great size, would highly recommend.My friend and I only stayed one night so feel that we couldn't appreciate it as much as we would have liked! It's a steep climb up cobbles to the top but we enjoy a challenge! Just be careful as very slippery in the wet! Rita kindly offered for us to be picked up from the station or you can get a taxi ?Also a short walk up to the castle which is well worth a visit for the history and stunning views

A wonderful place to stay when visiting Varenna. The room was excellent—spacious, clean, and equipped with a washing machine, which is especially convenient for long trips like us when you need to do some laundry. The breakfast was good, and the lady at reception was very kind and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the trail walk down the hill to Varenna town, where I discovered an amazing restaurant. Walking back up trail to the hotel after dinner was an unforgettable experience

I found it convenient since we traveled by car. However, if you have a lot of big luggage, it might be a bit inconvenient. To reach the hotel, you need to walk a little, which we actually enjoyed as it was great exercise for us. ?

Staff and owner exceptional. Nothing too much trouble. Beautiful room. Hot shower. Welcome bottle of wine.

Great little hotel. Rita and the staff went the extra mile for us, picking us up from the station and organising transport back to the hotel in the evening. Everything you need is in the room. The location is up near the castle which has great views.

- Nice big & clean rooms.- Good breakfast.- Enjoyed Jaccuzzi & swimming pool with great views.- Host Rita was very helpful.

- Nothing as such.- Good to check: There is a walking path to Varenna city, but if you are with baby strollers or with walking issues, then its almost not possible to take that route. It has stairs & cobble stones.- Logistically, try to book Taxi's in advance as there are only 3-4 taxi's running around between the towns.

Hidden gem, great location, very close to the castle and hiking trails and beautiful surroundings. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Good breakfast and clean rooms.

Rita & staff were super friendly!! Honestly it was so peaceful and relaxing to be there. After travelling around Paris and arriving in lake como. This was a great stop. Rita stayed late to check us in because our plane was later than expected check in time. Overall a great place to stay!

Pool. Close to castle. Informed us of shuttle that ran from 9pm- midnight to take people back up the mountain. It was a van service for multiple hotels

Hot tub didn’t work well, or would shut off and not turn back on

The staff at this property were lovely, from picking us up at the train station to booking our return taxi. The rooms were spacious, opposite the pool, with good aircon and great extras like a fridge, washing machine and clothes airer. The pool was heaven to come back to after a hard day’s sightseeing in the baking heat and the jacuzzi was very relaxing. Breakfast was fresh pastries, meats, cheeses, cereals etc and was great to set you up for the day. It’s a bit of a steep hill into town which takes around 15/20 mins and you’ll need good footwear for that. There is a free night bus available from the train station from 9.30pm to 11.30pm to get you back up the hill. All in all we loved our stay here and would like to thank Rita, Kirsty and the team for looking after us.

If had to fault it is far and hard to get to so be prepared for a walk and climb but the staff are accommodation is great
