Top Tips
- Book Kent Narrows hotels for waterfront access at rates 20-30% lower than downtown Annapolis. These properties offer similar Chesapeake Bay views with lighter tourist crowds, and most are within 0.5 miles of seafood restaurants and marinas. Confirm if you need step-free access to docks or boardwalks before booking.
- Verify Wi-Fi speeds before booking if you plan to work remotely. Properties near Route 50 sometimes report under 10 Mbps, while chain hotels like Holiday Inn Express typically provide 25 Mbps or more. Confirm with the front desk in rural areas, as coverage may vary.
- Check for resort fee details before you book; fees are uncommon in Grasonville and usually not charged at major chains. Still, review policies for marina-side hotels, which may include amenities such as dock access or boat slip rentals, to identify any extra costs up front.
- Request a room facing away from Route 50 to minimize highway noise. Traffic increases from 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM, and east-side rooms at Comfort Inn and similar hotels are generally quieter.
- Use loyalty points for free nights when possible; only IHG and Choice Privileges offer redemption at local chain hotels. Independent inns in the area rarely accept points, so confirm with the property before reserving.
- Visit midweek in September or October and pay up to 40% less compared to peak summer rates. Avoid weekends during June-August sailboat races, as prices often spike three days before these events.
- Confirm if pool or amenity access is included, since some budget motels in Grasonville share facilities with nearby RV parks. Ask whether wristbands or daily fees apply, especially when booking for families or guests who need accessible features.
- Prepay for non-refundable rates to save 15-20% at most local hotels. Cancellations are infrequent in this area, but check the policy and date restrictions for holiday weekends before you commit.
