About
Set just a short walk from the central plaza of Almagro, this restored 16th-century convent offers charming arched courtyards, beamed ceilings and an outdoor seasonal swimming pool. The Parador de Almagro has been beautifully transformed into a hotel with fantastic facilities. Enjoy the architecture of the building as you walk up the wide, wooden staircase. Admire the wooden ceilings, huge tapestries and original artwork hanging on the walls. Spacious and airy, the beautifully decorated bedrooms were once inhabited by the monks of the original building. Enjoy wooden beams, tiled floors and pretty tiled details on the walls. The decor is in complete harmony with the history of the building and its historic setting. Soak up the sunshine on the poolside lounges in the hotel’s peaceful gardens before enjoying a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool. The restaurant serves modern cuisine based on characteristic Manchegan dishes and made with fresh local produce.A bar is also featured. Ciudad Real train station is 26 minutes drive from the property.

- bad parador
Cons -
- The staff at the front desk seemed sort of disinterested, but maybe it was because they didn't speak very much English.
- There were not enough staff members to handle the place, Wouldn't recommend that for young people or people with kids under 20
- Room with walls of cheramic tiles, also a bench and small bedside, not confortableVery poor breackfast, not tasty buffet, a very few hot dishes soaked in oil and not tasty. some kind of chesses and salami not tasty on my opinion and the wet croisant as well. Not enough staff in the breakfast room and do not speak english

very nice atmosphere, good quality matresses, kind welcome.
restaurant was empty
Great location and building
Bed was moving and lights were a bit difficult to manage
Spacious, confortable stylish and clean
Great location, meals were excellent , and the employees always very diligent, educated and satisfied our requirements.
Parador in a beautifully restored Franciscan convent. The numerous courtyards are a delight!
Large rooms with comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and quality towels. We only stayed one night, did not have breakfast and ate at a restaurant in town so cannot comment on facilities etc. Also it was raining, not conducive to wandering around the grounds. Plenty of off-street parking and close to the main square.
Staff were very disinterested, had to explain at least twice we had booked and paid for 2 rooms.
Beautiful building. Lovely atmosphere. Pleasant bar and restaurant. Parking was free and very easy.
Very good Parador in the centre of the town with free private paking.
Nothing much.
Great location and very interesting building . Amazing breakfast
Nothing to dislike
The location & atmosphere of this Parador was excellent, very interesting building. Tastefully transformed to an hotel. The room was large & beds very comfortable. We very much enjoyed a drink in the court yard before dinner.Dinner was excellent.
Found the surrounded town very quiet but interesting buildings, to take photos.
The location of the breakfast room was fine. As was the choice of continental breakfast. Location of hotel and facilities were excellent.
More choice in regards to a cooked breakfast would have been nice. Also more choice on menu in restaurant
Wonderful experience staying in this historic building. The parador is set in a charming town and it was one of the nicest places I have stayed. Loved everything from the serenity you felt there, the really friendly staff and the super breakfast.
The hotel is located in an old building which has been beautifully maintained. The gardens and outside spaces are fabulous, very tranquil. The town centre was only 5 mins walk away
The breakfast wasn’t as good as other hotels we’ve stayed in and it was a bit disorganised. I tried to make a cafe con leche from the machine but ended up with a cup of brown water.
Hot food served well looking delicious with trimming Bar man was excellent drinks were perfect, he knew what we wanted
Pool, location, the gardens
In an old clerical building perfect, great food local
All the staff were very helpful. They resolved an issue in the restaurant professionally. The building was beautifully and sympathetically maintained. Poor weather meant we couldn’t use the pool or any of the many charming courtyards. I would definitely return to this hotel.
