- The house and the room are very clean. The heater is running very well. I got sweaty when I woke up in the morning.
- The building was lovely! I really liked the fact you had to take your shoes off in the lobby which made the whole building feel a lot cleaner. The room was a good size and the bathrooms were large and updated. The kitchen provided instant coffee and hot chocolate with hot water which was lovely. The location was great for seeing Vestrahorn!
- The room was very clean, easily accommodated our family of 5 (including 4 teenage boys). Bathroom was clean and easy to access. One of the best values we've booked.
Cons -
- The location of this hotel is way too far and just like middle of nowhere. Kind of scary.
- The only small problem I had was that there was nowhere to put your stuff while you showered so I ended up having to put my clean clothes on the toilet lid which wasn’t great.
- A bit of a tourist hotspot.

A great base for exploring glacier country. FYI the cat doesn't live there. It tricked me into letting it inside.
A bit of a tourist hotspot.
We saw Aurora at the little hill. Must try the seafood restaurant Pakkhus.
Laundry a little pricy Kr 2500/ea
It was great to finally have a bedroom with a private bath after a long trip. The hostel was incredibly clean with a huge kitchen cooking area and plenty of seating. Also an outdoor BBQ area with 2 grills, but we did not have a chance to use them as it was too cold and windy.
Everything was great. Would stay again for sure. Hofn is a nice little city too compared to a lot of the incredibly small towns we stayed out before that.
The room is equipped with a private bathroom. The room is clean, cozy and comfortable. Availability of extra showers at the hostel is a bonus. The shared kitchen is shared by too many people. However, the eating area is cozy and spacious.
A bit too pricey for 5 people with shared kitchen, room is a bit tight for 5 people with luggage.
The kitchen has many utensil & cooking facilities, which is convenient for those self cook travelers. The hot chocolate & coffee machine was a plus?
The room was quite small, after putting our luggage, no much place to move
super clean. big kitchen. big lobby. meet lots of friends. sleep well. wonderful hostel.
Very clean, helpful staff, great kitchen as a hostel
No complaints
Very nice amenities. This hostel had a washer and dryer that we utilized since this was our half way point. A tad pricey but for the convenience it was worth it.
Incredible hostel. The staff was amazing. The entire place was spotless. Very well run and the commercial kitchen was top notch. Multiple guests could be cooking all at once. Ultra fast dishwasher! We need those in the USA. Plenty of fridge space and plenty of space for dining. Rooms were perfect in size, cleanliness and comfort. The girl that showed us around and checked the guests in, was super sweet and helpful. Best ever hostel!
My room was great (I paid extra to have my own bathroom). The bathroom was better and the bed considerably more comfortable than the Airbnb I had stayed at the prior two nights. The kitchen had everything you need, plus a couple barbecue's outside (also better than the Airbnb). All the guests seemed so friendly. There was a walking trail around the city that was right on the water (and very close to the hostel). I appreciated that they had everyone take off their shoes when entering (helped keep things really clean). I'm so glad I stayed here. Definitely one of the top hostel's I've stayed at.
All was great.
I think the receptionist was amazing. She helped us with a lot of things like laundry, drying our shoes etc.
I would expect the laundry to be free at a place that charges more than $250 a night but was disappointing to see they charge again for it.
Our private room was comfortable. The shared bathroom was cleanCommun areas were big, and the kitchen had everything to cook a proper meal.
Even though the common spaces were big, it got really busy cause we were staying at the same time as a big group. This place seems to be hosting lots of tourist buses.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The place has a clean, modern design that feels warm and welcoming at the same time. Everything was spotless, from the bathrooms to the common areas, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The kitchen is large and well equipped, and the dining room opens to a spacious terrace with tables and a smoking corner- a great spot to hang out.But what made everything really special was LENA, the manager. Even though the hostel was fully booked, she ran everything smoothly on her own (didn't see any staff member besides her). She greeted me with a genuine smile and even helped me personally with a health issue- completely out of kindness. Lena is a beautiful person on the inside as much as on the outside :)Highly recommended ❤️
The only downside for me was the lack of privacy in the dorms. In many hostels you usually find a curtain or some kind of divider around the beds, but here there wasn’t anything. In a 10-bed dorm this can feel a bit uncomfortable.
Very nice hostel. Kitchen has two sinks and plenty shared bathrooms. Nice show.Very well organized and equipped.
Comfortable room , clean, excellent kitchen and lounge area with coffee/tea and everything to make a meal
Nice shared showers and kitchen area. The private rooms are good size. Comfortable for two. Shoes are taken off upon entry, put into a basket and carried to your room. There is a limited space shoe rack by the front door. Convenient location. Parking is limited and it is located in a residential neighborhood. The bathrooms were kept very clean.
Parking was a little tight. At one point when I went to fill up on gas I lost my parking spot and had to wait a few hours before someone moved a car and o could legally park again.
Great staff, very clean and good amenities.
No choice of picking bunk beds, especially when travelling with someone. The top bunks felt a bit claustrophobic, personally speaking.
