    Pros +

    • The setting is amazing. An oasis after the crowded beach areas and noisy roads of Corfu. The staff were very friendly. The meals were excellent. The building is like an old British hill station in Darjeeling.
    • The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they made you feel right at home and cared for. The views are spectacular! Breakfast was delightful each morning (the service, the food, the view!) Other meals on the patio were also fabulous! The chef really knows her stuff! The rooms were comfortable, quaint, and fun, especially when you open the doors and the shutters! The pool was beautiful and refreshing. The hotel had a wonderful family feel like you were staying in someone's home.
    • Fantastic views, charm , character, like a throw back to the 1930s. Staff were amazing. We loved Kiki in the restaurant! The property is quiet and we enjoyed the other guests and low key atmosphere.

    Cons -

    • I'm an early morning coffee drinker and it was a long wait until 8:15 when breakfast starts. This could easily be resolved with an electric kettle and tea and coffee fixings in one of the common areas. The breakfast and coffee were worth the wait though!
    • There were a few little glitches. For example, the refrigerator in my room stopped working. But the staff were very generous and made sure I had cold bottles of water at all times.
    • The property is a little data but that adds to the charm.

This is an old building which was purpose built as a hotel. It is a beautiful environment both outside and in, the design still working well for its visitors. The views are incredible. Simply breath taking. The staff are extremely friendly and happy to help in every way. It may not have all ‘mod cons’ but it has everything needed for a comfortable stylish holiday.

The road to the hotel, up through the village of Pelekas, is extremely narrow. Patience is needed to decide who has right of way! But to it is well worth the effort once here!

The location was the best you can find in Corfu… hands down! The staff was really friendly and it was quite relaxing and quiet.

It was a bit ran down and dirty, but yet authentic so if you’re into older buldings then go for it but I can see how it can bother most people but for us the historic building was something we were looking for anyways. The worst part about the hotel was the breakfast as it did not have any milk alternatives (should’ve let them know about my intolerances but i’m used to having all kinds of alternatives in every European hotel) and the breakfast was just lacking. The other big minus was how thin the walls and doors were, I could hear everything, even tho the hotel’s guests and the atmosphere was really quiet.

After I read other people's reviews, I had much lower expectations but in the end it was decent for the price and I would come back and stay longer if the mattresses were better quality (more sponge, less of the big metal springs).Bad reviews from a couple years ago: either some of those people who complain about the hotel are a bit pretentious or the hotel invested a bit to touch up some things in the meantime or I have lower standards.Yes, from the drain from the bathroom there was a smell but I poured bit of water in it and added disinfectant spray - after I poured that mix down the drain, the smell stopped. Yes, it came back the next day but was not as intense and I did not mind. What do people expect? It is a small island taking lots and lots of tourists each year. The staff:perfectly friendly and helpful, answering each of our questions. It was really nice that they had filled our fridge with water bottles. Thank you ?Food:nothing special but delicious and a bit cheaper than in a restaurant in the village.Breakfast:I liked the selection and there was enough of everything. Simple but all you need.Cleaning:Everyday the bathroom litter bin was emptied because you throw the toilet paper in the bin, not the toilet. Bathroom was old but perfectly fine and spacious. Water was lukewarm most of the times but I never shower in hot water anyway.Excellent:view both East and West, the authentic historic style of the hotel. We were here in mid-September so it was nice and quiet. I would not want to come in peak season when it's loud and hot. I think the room would become too hot and the air conditioning is old so I don't trust it.Terrace is nice but there is just a low fence next to the neighboring rooms, so in hot weather I would not feel relaxed sleeping with terrace door open. The shades do not let light or air through so if you want some air, you sleep with open terrace doors as there is no extra window.

Beds are not comfortable. There is a mattress topping to make it softer but I still wake up with a sore back from the mattress.Shower curtain should be replaced as it is not clean anymore.

The Hotel is charming and in a fantastic location with spectacular island views. This is our 2nd visit and we would return. The gardens and pool are well maintained and the staff are great.

Don’t expect high end - this is an older Hotel that needs a bit of TlC but the price reflects this.

A charming, characterful old hotel that made us feel like we were going back in time.

The floors weren’t cleaned regularly and the bed was a little uncomfortable.

Perfect localization. very friendly and kind staff especially men from reception and breakfast waitress. Charmy place.

A hotel with an aura of past glory located in a majestic place. The location of Pelekas gave easy access to both sides of the island. As for the hotel, being on the top of the mountain, it provided amazing views, especially during sunrise and sunset. The rooms were big and comfortable. The staff was friendly and nice. I recommend it.

Because the ladies cleaning the rooms only have so much time to go around on each floor, it happened that we went back from breakfast and the lady, already there was asking from us to move around the bedroom and the wc so that she could clean, when we would have rather much appreciated having the room on our own. The door to our room stayed open for at least an hour. This is mainly due to the constipation that took over both me and my partner during the last days of the trip, and we would have really much enjoyed some quiet time to relax after breakfast. It wouldn't have been an issue if we were healthy though.

Amazing location with superb views, the whole hotel has a nice vintage atmosphere.

The terrace with the view is not only for hote guests but serves also as a cafe / restaurant and it’s better to book the tables. The prices in the restaurant are quite high.

Historical property, small, clean, quiet, beautiful grounds, good restaurant food and exceptional staff

Breakfast could have been a bit more varied. The hot items were often cold but we managed with other continental foods.

    Wonderful place, views, swimming pool.

The pictures are not true to the reality. The reality is better. They need better marketing.
