Pros +
- We really liked the gracious help getting to and from our room and the charm of the room's decoration with table in the bay window. Front desk was very helpful at checkout. Taking coffee to our room early in the morning from dining room was very easy.
- Hotel was superbly located above an exceptionally beautiful village. Guests could easily walk to the cliff-top hiking trails and the village and rocky beach. Very friendly staff and nice breakfast buffet. The value was outstanding for the price paid.
- Our view from the room was wonderful. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was the best meal we had in France.
Cons -
- I appreciated a young front desk woman's help when I couldn't open the room door and laughed at my failure to just push. Then I was insulted by her attitude of resentful superiority toward me for not doing what was obvious to her.
- There were no bathrobes but slippers and extra hangers could be requested.
- Nothing. Everything was great.

The location and view, beautiful
The view, the layout of the room giving one privacy to change behind a wall/closet and shielding one from the lights in the hallway and bathroom if one were trying to get some sleep and the other occupant was in the bathroom; the beds were very comfortable, there was a coffeemaker and a hot water kettle and a bottle of water, there were plentiful charging ports in good locations, the bathroom layout was nice, the water pressure in the shower was strong, and there was a little gift bag. The balcony and the view from the balcony was amazing. Breakfast was also very nice and the other dining facilities looked good.
There were no bathrobes but slippers and extra hangers could be requested.
Location was perfect for walk into town and to the Etretat cliffs. Hotel is special, both upscale and charming. Bed was very comfortable, and views spectacular. We enjoyed our stay.
Nothing. Everything was great.
The views, the open-widow air, the cleanliness of bathroom, the welcoming champagne and sweets, the readiness of staff to help out, the tranquility, and the easy access to beach and town.
The regulated toilet paper. Was not enough for two persons. When asked for more, only received one role (for two people!)
Location is excellent and accommodations are comfortable
Very little heat in the rooms, at times cold in evenings
Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The location and the views are beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful.
If you are driving, the parking is a little tight.
The location and cleanliness
The coffee machine in the room
Great location, one of the kind. However, it’s so rundown. There’s no lifts/elevators. The staff were not helpful and hardly care for their customers. It’s a crummy hotel. It’s such a shame that they poorly manage this stunning property.
It’s so rundown. No elevators. Staff are not up to the industry standards. I bought a painting from the hotel. The receptionist gave it to me unwrapped. I asked for a tissue paper to wrap the original painting and they didn’t have one.
Location is wonderful. The terrace has a beautiful view and the breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly and most could speak English.
Dinner was on the expensive side for what you got, but this is a touristy area.
Dormy House is a special place. All of the staff were pleasant, helpful and professional. The room was in a perfect location, clean, beds were comfortable. I could watch the sunset from my room. The food in the restaurant was excellent.
My stay was perfect!
Property is so close to the cliffs! Loved to have coffee in the room! The shower was spacious . The room was so clean and beautiful.
The automatic closet lights that do not shut off even when we remove the room key.
Location is indeed exceptional. Sea view and hotel rooms are very nice and comfortable.
Disappointed by the fact that we specifically asked for vegan options for dinner and breakfast and didn't try to make a special effort into it. (Only oat milk for breakfast and fruit salad for desert during dinner.
Location and access to the cliffs and beach were amazing. Hotel breakfast at the bistro was delicious with an amazing outdoor seating area and view. We loved going for early morning walks along the cliffs.
There was an unpleasant odor in the elevator in our building. We also had rooms above those with terraces that allowed smoking and were awoken by cigarette smoke several times. Our son has asthma and is very sensitive to smoke.
Beautiful views. Very nice property, good location , service and food were amazing.
Good location. Nice room. Lovely views. Parking was good
Someone was smoking on a balcony near our room and the smell of smoke came into our room on a number of occasions. There was a strange smell in the lift and corridor. The bed was small and not very comfortable.
The buildings and grounds were beautiful and the view of the cliffs were absolutely amazing. The location was perfect and it was an easy walk to get into town. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and looking at the view after exploring the town all day.
Sadly, we didn't love this place as much as we were hoping to.There were issues with the room - the shower drain was extremely slow to drain, which meant you were standing in the shower water and you had to keep turning off the shower to let it drain. The coffee machine in the room was broken and leaked water everywhere. The breakfast buffet was almost empty each time we went down (once early, once later, but still an hour before it ended). The tables were all dirty and it was hard to find a clean table to sit.We ordered food at the bar one afternoon and whatever we ordered they said they were out of.We enjoyed the hot tub but it was not private, as it was in the grass outside of the room and there was no gate or anything. People walking up the hill were coming over to the hot tub, because it wasn't obvious it was part of our room.I really wanted to love this place because of how beautiful it was, but unfortunately there were a lot of problems, especially for the amount we paid for the room.
This property is one of the prettiest places we've ever stayed. The views are stunning. The attention to detail is incredible. We loved having a drink while overlooking the beach below. I cannot say enough good things about this place.
We wish there'd been a fan or AC in our room as it got a little warm at night. We were hesitant to keep the windows open as it was pretty buggy outside during our stay (which I realize the hotel cannot control!)
