Pros +
- I like the view of the city from our room. I also liked the close proximity to town so we could walk to it, rather than move our car off the private parking lot.
- Gorgeous property with great attention to detail and service. The view and ambiance were outstanding. The food and drinks were excellent. We had a wonderful time exploring the town and making use of the on-site sauna. It was a very romantic weekend getaway. I would 100% recommend and would come again in the future.
- Super stylish , great view and location ! Amazing food , helpful stuff !
Cons -
- Personal preference: I did not care for the heavy black furniture in the salon section of our room. I much more enjoyed the light and airy feel of the bedroom.
- Some rooms are upstairs but the stuff helps with all the luggage so that’s not a problem
- The bathroom could have been a tiny bit cleaner.

My husband and I spent one night there. It was his birthday and staff went the extra mile to make it special for him. Pictures definitely don't do the hotel justice: it's much better in real life. The view from the patio is incredible. The foyer is cozy and quite large. Staff was helpful and friendly.
The bathroom could have been a tiny bit cleaner.
The pool and the room were lovely. The room was very clean and house keeping were good. Although having the bathroom downstairs was a pain as I have mobility issues.A very nice young man served us in the hotel with drinks and packed my gifts from the shop he was lovely. Wish I had his name
The meal in the restaurant was not of good quality , very limited and overpriced. It would help if there was a translation in English. €18 for a glass of champagne in its home country ?. After a swim sat around the pool for a couple of hours would have been nice to have been offered a drink no one it sight . I also picked up broken glass where I was sat off the ground. An over filled ashtray full of rain from the previous night not good. When I paid our bill and bought some trinkets from the shop nobody said goodbye bye thank you for staying.
Character old property
Tired we were in an annexe electrics dangerous pathway to. Room not lit up at nightNo dressing table ,food OK but extremely expensive breakfast not included.
Nice and interesting hotel with a lot of facilities and great view to the sea. Helpful staff! Thank you!
We loved everything. The charm of the grounds and room is unbeatable. So many details and beautiful settings. Close to town. Wonderful staff.
The hairdryer wouldn't stay plugged in but that was not a big deal at all.
Location is superb, on the hill with the sea view and only 15 min from the Etretat beach. The hotel and the territory are very charming. I guess the sunsets are great here.
Pool is useless, on picture it looks nice, but in reality you dont want to have a swim there. Staff lacks professionalism, they supposed to offer a room change (which was a necessity due to a huge party near the pool, that we were overlooking from our room), but it did not happen. Our room was not comfortable.
Everything was really nice. You can’t change the weather can you, but was more than happy to spend rainy days in Le Donjon.
There were no refrigerators in the room and when I asked about it one during check-in, they said they have a shared one. When asking about it later, the person didnt know where it was.
Nice location and facilities, friendly staff, nice lobby with games and a very good bar
Rooms are dusty
The staff were friendly and very professional. Our room was excellent, food and drink was great and there are many was to keep busy at the hotel.
That we didn't get to stay longer
The most gorgeous little hotel. Perfectly located for exploring the local area and amazing views. Friendly staff and delicious food (quite expensive).
Nobody told us before we booked that the main restaurant was closed on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
French elegance overlooking the sea. With a starred restaurant as well.!
Charming! Great location! Lovely town! Great hikes along Normandy CoastMost importantly, owner and staff went above and beyond to help us out of jam in charging our electric rental car - very kind! We only wish we could have stayed longer and plan to come back as soon as we can
It is perfect
Surrounding views are excellent. Breakfast is excellent.
Menu in the restaurant is a little restricted for dinner..
Very unique castle with completely different rooms in it… giving you the inner sense of connection with the site around not form the perspective of hotel… but mostly as of you are an expected guest of some nice family… very cozy.. and especially me and my son we like the Michelin dinners there ….
It’s all was really nice
Good location , very clean, the free break tea
Already perfect
great breakfast and location. The bisto is top class and highly recommended
slightly uncomfortable bed and very loud pipes passing through room, still pretty minor
We stayed in the Maya room which is in the attic of the cottage, it was like a fairy story! Gorgeous stairs led up to out bedroom, lounge area and little steps down into the cutest bathroom. The area was private, cosy and comfy with plentiful parking and views to the beach and over the sea that were amazing ….I recommend afternoon tea at 4pm, but indulge in cake and champagne while looking out to sea, once the sun begins to go down, drinks around the fire are a must. We took a picnic dinner in our room (it was a last minute booking so the restaurant was booked out) but I have heard it’s amazing. Overall with a noon checkout…. Fabulous
So while our room was indeed gorgeous, it possibly is only really enjoyable for one night, as it’s in an attic, space is premium, the shower over the bath is completely unusable as you cannot stand up, so you must have a sit down bath. Unless you are under 5’10 and of slim build, this might not be a comfortable room as sitting up in bed is also a challenge lol…. As is making coffee, there is a lot of bending involved …. However, if you know all of this and are staying only one or two nights, it’s truly a fairytale! The staff are hit and miss, we did have a few service issues with the bar staff who forgot to come out and take our order….however the reception and breakfast staff were more than on point…. Overall it was magnificent and I would stay again….
