Hotel De Schout

Huge room, well furnished with a view of the church. The balcony was small but nice.The free coffee and tea on the first level was super. And the lounge there is very comfortable.We made good use of both.

Can't close the door to the balcony if you are in the balcony. Meaning all the cold air comes back into the room. Just a little handle so you can pull it closed would keep the cold out of the room.The beds were very hard and the pillows were very small But the room and view made up for all that.We were in room 7. In late November 2025

Wonderful hotel,great staff, nice breakfast, great location, free parking, center of Denekamp

We stayed 1 night. The room was very comfortable, the people very friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful.

The lights in the assigned room were not working. The lady assisted us quickly, and we had to switch rooms. Unfortunately, we lost the nice view, but the new room was also good and spacious.

Super large, spacious room with bath. Parking outside is free. Pleasant staff. In the city center, I recommend it.

A modest breakfast. there could be hot dishes, the scrambled eggs were stale, it looked unappetizing

Everything was good!

The room is big and we have a room with a sauna which is amazing. Shower room is spacious. There’s balcony too over looking the square. The restaurant and bar is beautiful and nice to be at.

A bit far off but the village is beautiful to wonder around

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely large comfortable room. Lounge area on the 1st floor with books, board games and free tea and coffee (and paid for mini-bar). Good value for money. Choice of different restaurants on-site. Good quality breakfast. Nice location just over the German border so ideal as a stop off.

excellent breakfast service by Elaine - closeness of great swimming pool (Dorper Esch)

there were just a few vegatarian, and no vegan options; the new showcase with a big meat chunk was positively off-putting; when buying ourselves our preferred organic fruit for breakfast they were safekept in the fridge and a vegan yoghurt was bought

excellent staff. I arrived after the kitchen had closed (at 9pm) and the girl serving said they would rustle up a ‘snack’. they went over and above and served a fantastic plate meat and breads. really we’re exceptional helpful.

considering this hotel has been given a four star rating, I was not happy with the quality of the room or service provided. During the night it was really noisy so I didn’t get a good nights sleep. Having made my concerns known there was nothing offered from the staff in terms of a change of room. The front of house staff lacked attention to detail, even the basic task of booking a taxi which resulted in us being picked up by a special-needs bus and not a dedicated Taxi as requested. This bus did a specific route which almost made us late for our event. I was very disappointed with the stay and the quality of what was offered, when next in the area I will not be staying at this hotel.
