- Everything! Great location, wonderful rooms, exceptional staff, excellent food, and in a beautiful scenic setting!!! My experience there couldn't have been better!
- The food was outstanding, truly memorable meal. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and hot showers. The staff were kind and helpful. Excellent place to stay to access the Dolomites.
- This historic structure, built by legendary alpinist Tita Piaz and being progressively and sensitively updated by members of his family and their friendly staff, is beautifully located on Pordoi Pass. The Hotel faces the cable car leading to the 2950 meter peak of Sas di Pordoi with its all-around views. A more accessible hike behind leads to excellent views of the snow covered Marmolada massif. Under the lower cable station is an absorbing museum recounting the horrors of alpine trench warfare in WW1.It is a natural place to recover from a stiff cycle or motorbike ride up the switchback roads. The dining room was a delightful surprise with healthy servings of some very original regional dishes - and desserts made on site. We particularly enjoyed the trout mousse with smoked trout carpaccio, the burrata salad, and the best-ever apple strudel.
Cons -
- No, loved it there!
- Getting there challenges the bus network. A taxi took us up from Canazei.
- The hotel could haved been refurbished. On the other hand, it has some story to tell, relatred to its founder, Tita Piaz...!

Great location, access to slopes, nice dinner and free parking
The hotel could haved been refurbished. On the other hand, it has some story to tell, relatred to its founder, Tita Piaz...!
Great position if doing hikes to Piz Boe areas, was quite at night time,
Lady was rude on arrival, only acknowledged when went to walk out, bed was hard, room was small, breakfast was ok but basic. Road to hotel was closed until 4pm on arrival day due to cycling event, Hotel could have let us know. We had to wait in neighbouring town 5 hours
Location out of canazei up steep mountain pass. Views spectacular. Nothing to eat except hotel restaurant. Breakfast good. Beds horrible. Very hard like a rock and sheets were scratchy.
Bed!
Perfect location, very nice an clean new renovated rooms (at least ours) with perfect view. Parking in front of entrance. We liked the property very much even the rooms we asked were not together. If we would travel in this part of Dolomites we will select the property again.
The kitchen is a bit disappointing and could be improved. Also the staff in dinning room could be at higher level and more friendly.
The hotel is located on a beautiful mountain pass. It's clean and has excellent access to hikes and beautiful views. The staff are friendly and helpful. As a bonus I was able to charge my EV.
Very professional and friendly staff. Breakfast was great and room was super cosy.
Close to ski lifts. Friendly staff. Calm area, perfect to rest.
Great staff, value, food and location.

Breakfast
Fantastic location - right by the Sass Pordoi cable car station. Beautiful walking trails with views of the Marmolada start near the hotel. The hotel itself is also worth recommending - clean rooms, half board option, helpful owner.
Restaurant service was a bit chaotic. And it was noisy at night from the adjacent Camper car park.
Breathtaking views of the Dolomites. The greatest highlight is the superb restaurant, where we enjoyed a 5-course (and 5-star :) ) dinner. The staff is very friendly and active compared to Italian standard, which is a great plus. The rooms are rather compact, but other, positive factors prevail.
Room was small :)
Good location on the pass. Breakfast and dinners were very good and varied. Staff were friendly.
Noisy to flush toilet due to water being pumped into cistern
The breakfast was wonderful and the dinners were amazing. Delicious multiple course dinner each night.
It was all quite lovely, but it might have been nice to have a balcony.
Wonderful location with great views. Very good breakfast and dinner. Clean rooms. Easy access to Piz Boe cable car. It was a perfect stay.
We are frequent guests of this familyowned hotel and keep returning, previously only in the winter but now for hiking. It is in an excellent position for those who prefer nature over shopping in nearby stores ( there are none) The food seved on the four course included menu is worth the trip alone. Hiking, lifts and pistes are right outside the window. Both Arabba and Canazei are just a short trip away. It is a very peaceful mountainpass. The bar is nice. The ownerfamily are very friendly and hospitable. The rooms are small but comfotable and clean with nice views. The winelist is good with a great local selection. Nadja the owner will take care of everything you ask for. We try not to tell too many people about this gem, we will keep it for ourselves. There is a small WW I museum across the street and remnants from fortifications from that period.
The restaurant staff was friendly but very inexperienced this year, the chefs are masters though!
Friendly and helpful staff team. Excellent food. Good atmosphere.
We had the family room. Spacious, clean room. Comfortable beds. Nice staff. View exceptional. Exactly across the road from the cable car to Pass Pordoi. Loved our stay and wish we could have stayed more. The breakfast ok but nothing special
All good.
