We stayed in a three bed villa for a month. The property had two balconies and a garden. The villa was modern, well equipped, and very comfortable but it also retained it's Spanish authenticity with hand carved wooden furniture and doors. The whole site was beautifully maintained by a team of dedicated staff/Workers. The office staff were all very helpful with special thanks to Noelia. The location was perfect for us, although 1.2 miles from Burrina Beach it was a lovely walk down the Green Avenue. There was a bus service from the village for anyone who does not like walking. There is Mercadona supermarket 0.2 miles from El Sur which provides a wide range of fresh products and was exceptionally cheap compared to the UK. In the town there were plenty of restaurants and bars opened. None were too busy and there was a lovely atmosphere despite it being winter. Overall Capistrano Sur is like a home from home.
Spacious apartments, great sea view from hill's top.
Fee for sun beds by the pool
View and space.
Location and problem caused when we wanted to check in.
The complex is on a hill and lots of steps to climb. The plus side was that there were great views. Apartment could do with an update.
The hills and number of steps
The apartment had well equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher, comfortable beds, it was just lacking storage for 5 people. Balcony are was lovely with table and chairs and a nice corner couch.Pool area was nice and clean. Pool bar was lovely and the staff was very friendly.Rockys is a must visit, lovely staff also the best Sunday roast I ever had.
I had such high hopes from looking at photos and reviews. However, I booked El Capistrano Sur/ village. We were put in an apartment in Capucino block, San Juan El Capistrano. This was a 25 min walk (up hill) back away from where I had booked. Our apartment was a 45 min walk from the town. It was an absolute nightmare. We do not mind walking at all when on holiday but a 45min walk to town (that was advertised as 20mins when booking) with two young kids is just too much. My husband questioned reception and was basically told it is what it is. If I was made aware of this on booking I would not have booked. It ruined our holiday having to get a taxi to town and back most days. Most times we needed 2 taxis as they could not provide one big enough to carry 5 of us. We ended up renting a car for our last 3 days. I would definitely recommend if you have booked here to rent a car and bring your walking shoes. Also 3.50e a day to rent 1 pool bed and 2e a day for an umbrella. No great food options in San Juan mid week.
The facility was superb
The furniture was a bit tired and smells musty. We did have a few visitors of the cockroach kind.
Lovely well equipped villa, all new appliances and comfy beds. Nice clean pools and not too busy. The surroundings are beautiful, well maintained and quiet. Great location just a few minutes from Burriana beach and lots of good restaurants serving fantastic Spanish and Mediterranean food.
A lot of damp patches in the walls, only one set of keys for a group of 4. Restaurants very basic serving very “English“ cuisine which was a little disappointing. Staff were not very informative of reception/ pool/restaurant opening times etc. or what to do with keys/rubbish when departing, so lost my pool card deposit!
Friendly staff. Nice apartment with great view. Plenty of parking.
Neighbors can be loud . It is 30 minutes walk from the center. It is hard to find parking in Nerja center so walking is only option.
The huge, comfortable terrace and its view - a pleasant surprise. Beautiful surroundings, well-stocked kitchenware, air conditioning units in each room (once we got the hang of it!), cable tv (for watching the Olympics!!), and plenty of space for our family of four. All local amenities (supermarkets, the caves, central Nerja/Balcón, Burriana beach, and Tuesday markets) easily accessible and nearby by car.
We were not expecting the 90+ steep steps up to the property with all our bags when we arrived at 10pm (a bit more lighting and/or signage at the top of the steps would be hugely helpful to know which direction to take when locating the apartment!), but the aforementioned view was worth it! Also, the remote location of our apartment and the heat meant that we had to use our car to go anywhere.Lastly, as another review mentioned, our swimwear was stained green every day after using the pools. But all in all, we were not disappointed with anything and would consider returning.
Spacious
Pool areas Fi not have enough shade, need more umbrellas etc. also too expensive to pay Euros3.50 per sun bed should be free for residents
The setting was nice and the grounds were well maintained. It was quite spacious. Close to two supermarkets.
It was pretty tired and basic. It had most things that you need but all of it was quite dated. Bathroom floor flooded every time anyone had a shower. Beds were not very comfortable. No air conditioning in the second bedroom.
Relaxing no teenagers/ noise at night
Location was poor on the side of a mountain
Cozy apartment with a stunning view over Nerja and the midetereinian sea. Nice pool-area with two nice restaurants.
The apartment was a bit far from the town and the beach. A car is recommended because of the long walk uphills.
The garden, the spaciousness and the facilities
El Capistrano village is a truly lovely area with. Lots of flowers and white villas. The house was great and close to the pool area. The staff at El Capistrano Sur was very helpful and also booked our transfer.
Capistrano
Beds were very creaky, we ended up on just mattresses on the floor
Beautiful scenery close to shops, bit of a hike to the beach which is good with many places to eat
The steps near and around the complex, steep and slippery, we did ask for accommodation that was suitable for OAPs, we struggled with the steps and will not be returning, which is sad as the place is so pretty
