    Cons -

    • Building was a somewhat dated and rusting.
    • This is a very basic hotel. the rooms are quite small. 1 bath towel each and no hand towel or wash cloths. it's about a 15 minute walk to town which is fine for many people however we are in our 70's and walk slowly so it was a bit much for us.
    • Toilets were filthy, had some mold or something terrible at the back of them. Most uncomfortable beds and pillows I've ever used too. AC was also broken and only blew hot air, so it was warm in the room. Room also had no thick blinds to go over the thin see through blinds. Property is designed odd as well, in that you have to walk all the way around it to get to the road

Staff was friendly, place was relatively cheap. Not too far from train station or town

The location was perfect for what we required. The breakfast offering had good choice and was substantial.

The premises is somewhat 'tired' looking and would be greatly improved by being re-painted.

Location was great, staff was helpful and friendly.

A couple of issues with connecting to the Wi-Fi, hard to avoid a lot of water on floor when showering, lock on one room's door was hard to close securely

    Great Location.

Had to ask for our room to be cleaned and given fresh towels.

Well located, comfortable clean rooms, great breakfast

The main desk needs a device to translate to different lenguajes, most of the staff only speak French and their business is people who don’t speak French

Location, quite, nice restaurant with good food and not expensive

While clean , Poor room maintenance , door hard to close, ware and tear in the bathroom

Conveniently located in a quiet area just off a roundabout on the edge of the old town, about 15 minutes walk from the Museum. Lots of parking, nice views of the green space beyond and next to the property. Enjoyed seeing the cows and horses next door! Room was small but comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. Buffet breakfast one morning which was convenient. Friendly staff!

Extremely small bedside table between two twin beds was inconvenient as my husband uses a CPAP machine and we could barely fit it on the table. The buffet breakfast was just okay.

Staff was helpful even though we had a language issue as I don't speak French. They were great at overcoming this. The room was clean, comfortable and exactly what we needed. Everything was within an easy walk.

I booked on the basis of a very good experience several months ago at the Campanile Montparnasse in Paris. The rooms are always clean, small, but adequate for a short stay and good value. The staff in Bayeux were friendly and helpful. Breakfast provided a reasonably good choice of options, though not as broad a choice as when I stayed in Paris. The location is good and within easy walking distance of the town and other amenities. All in all I'd use Campanile again and I would stay there for future visits to Bayeux should they occur. The gardens and flower beds were also lovely. The surroundings are important.

I suppose I missed somewhere to sit and relax for a bit, perhaps even get a drink. After returning from town it would have been nice to have a small nightcap before going to bed. I appreciate there was a small covered space outside behind the breakfast room, but a small space indoors would have been nice. Otherwise, everything was good. It's a small point and I appreciate the space available is limited.

Comfortable bed, great shower, and excellent bathroom lighting. Beautiful view of the cathedral.

The location was mixed. It was a lovely country setting, but it was a 15-minute walk into town. Most people had cars, but parking in the town of Bayeux is very limited.

From reception right through to the evening meals the staff and service was very good and the rooms comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and set you up for the day. The location is excellent for exploring the town and cathedral on foot. Also for the sites of the D Day landing beaches etc. by car or bike/motor cycle.

I have no adverse comments about this accommodation.

The rooms are basic but comfortable. Great parking, close to town and a great breakfast

    3IanPosted on: 4-4-2025

Card would not let me enter room , no one at reception or to answer helpline phone . Had to stay at different hotel .

    5JohnPosted on: 3-31-2025

The room was fine. Typical for a Campanile, but a little tired.

Breakfast was disappointing. The single coffee machine was broken and the juice dispenser was empty. There were no staff around to deal with the problems. On returning to my room, the key-card failed to work. This was the most expensive Campanile I have stayed at and the poorest.

Great location if coming off the ferry at Ouistreham. It’s a bit like a travel lodge. 10 minute stroll to Bayeux. Didn’t eat there as so many options in Bayeux. Bed was comfortable and shower was very good.

Good evening meal, especially the dessert buffet

Inadequate signage to hotel. Slow check in - staff too few and booking initially not recognised. Room really needed thicker curtains to cut out the lighting from the ouside passage. and the constant flickering from a defective security light.

Great location Comfy room but a little dated Decent breakfast Great for parkingIdeal for a dog given all the grass around

Rooms could do with a refresh
