    Pros +

    • The location of hotel is very good, a bit away from the noisy center but easily reached on foot. The staff was very helpful and professional during our stay. The rooms are spacious and offer a lot of place for comfortable storage of personal things.
    • Hi really liked the girl on reception called Tinder ( spoke really good English). She was really helpful. The pool was lovely too.We came by bikes. Tinder gave our group a storage area.
    • We had a very good stay, the staff is very kind and helpful , the room was very clean and spacious.

    Cons -

    • The bathroom seemed very small and access to the toilet for a mid-sized person was already not very comfortable. The food at the breakfast was at best average and the selection and quality could be better.
    • The hotel was a bit out of the way for us to walk to restaurants or the promenade.Wifi wasn't good in our room, had to sit down stairs.I did not like the entry lounge , too hectic and not nicely furnished. Could be more welcoming.
    • Carpet on the floor. A little pricy

Good food with a lot of Hungarian alternative. Nice staff

Friendly staff, cozy rooms and perfect location.

The spa was a bit small but they have saunas and swimming pool. Due to the winter season the pool was not in use. All together it was good.

Good location, good breakfast, excellent parking. Decent wellness area. Rooms functional, not very spacious, but doing the job.

    10MathnrajPosted on: 10-18-2024

The room was big & the wellness centre was well maintained. Friendly hotel staff & very stable wifi connection throughout the day.

We had a very good time there. The bar and the restaurant in the hotel are very nice. The food was very delicious. The neighborhood is beautiful, everything is close by.The personnel was always very friendly and ready to help.Good price for what they offer.

The enteriour of the room looked a bit old, let's say: quite used and the bathroom (especially the sink) was not cleaned properly.

    10JohnPosted on: 9-16-2024

The room was very spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was superb. Very helpful staff on reception.

The location wasn't bad at all, but it felt just a little bit out from the main promenade (but in reality it was only a few minutes' walk so not too bad really). The pool was a lot smaller than it looked in the photos and near to a main road. There were long queues for the coffee machine at breakfast. All of these criticisms are very minor though - I would definitely stay there again.

Reception staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Room very comfortable with good balcony

    10MirijamPosted on: 8-20-2024

Good food (half board), could get vegan options (limited though), friendly staff, nice and clean rooms, comfortable bed, balcony with a view, privacy, nice clean, rather small but just the right size swimming pool to cool down, parking in front of the hotel entrance.

I wish for more vegan options for lunch (main dishes) and more vegan suitable salada in salad bar.

Clean nice staff and very quiet nice hotel!

Beds need updating and sheets need to be updated as came off in the night as not elasticised! Breakfast OK.

    9AkosPosted on: 8-7-2024

Very baby-friendly facilities, even food and cutlery for babies are included. The wellness has a little children's pool. Tasty hungarian-style breakfast and evening-bufet. There's daily cleaning in the rooms and the hotel was clean in general. The staff was very considerate and friendly.

We didn't want to sleep with the A/C on, so we had to open the door to the balcony, facing the main road. The traffic was really loud and audible until 1 am and again from 6 am and there was one drunk and loud couple on their balcony across, which I was too tired to do anything about. So we slept with A/C on anyway until the baby woke up at night, then we opened the door instead. So if you are sensitive for noise, then ask for a room not facing the lake / main road.

Staff brilliant, location excellent, rooms superb, I have stayed in several hotels in Balatonfured and this is definitely in the top 2. Cannot thank the staff enough, they were just great and friendly.

    10FabrizioPosted on: 7-31-2024

Our accommodation was very spacious like an apartment with 2 rooms separated by a door , 2 bathrooms and small kitchenette. It was a very quiet place and had also air conditioning. The cleaning was spotless. The hotel is close to restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly.

The furniture it’s a bit outdated but that’s only a matter of taste.

    9FernandoPosted on: 7-29-2024

Breakfast and dinner were very good. The salads were just FANTASTIC.I got the last room in the hall, far from the center of the building and that made WiFi very weak. The "SPA" is just two jacuzzis and a sauna, nothing spectacular. The pool is small but the pool area is nice.

They have plenty of space but still charge for parking.

    7SergiuPosted on: 7-16-2024

The room is clean and newly renovated, so overall the aspect of the room is good. The bathroom looks good, but there is only one bottle of liquid soap in the bathroom.

We had half-board included in the price of the accommodation, but the options for food were very limited, for both breakfast and dinner. We had only one option of very bad juice for breakfast! I have stayed in many properties with half-board in many countries around the globe, but the food options offered by Hotel Margareta were simply disappointing compared to other 4-stars hotels around the globe. The hotel provides a spa, but it is very small, with very limited options, and, as a bonus, when you use the spa there is absolutely no one from the staff to assist you in the spa if you need something. Once you enter the spa, they don't even provide towels inside the spa and if you want to ask for towels, you have no one to ask, because there's absolutely no one from staff in the spa. Also, when you enter the spa, even if you are in the business hours, you can be unlucky and find all saunas turned off and there's no one to assist you!! This is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel where you pay more than 120 euros per room per night!

Good check in experiencePillow menuModern and cleanPlenty of storage in the bedroomSofa and lounge area in the roomBalcony overlooking the poolPlenty of car park spaces

Dinner was a buffet style, and the choices did not look appetising at all. Most options looked like they had been sat under the heat lamps / bain maries etc for a considerable length of time. Some of the dinner choices appeared to then be presented for breakfast in the morning.... who wants ratatouille for breakfast ?
