Price was good for the location. The Room was spacious. That area seemed safe and crime free. The staff was courteous. The hotel room served it's purpose for my stay to ski Mammoth Mountain.
Big rooms, windows that open, great helpful staff, lots of covered parking. Walking distance to shops.
The staff was nice and the room was clean, except the floor was a little dirty and seemed like it had not been mopped.

Lobby was pretty nice. Bed was comfortable.
Nice staff and good room
They ask for your credit card for incidentals then charge you a $10 resort fee without telling you. I called the hotel and they were rude and explained it was my fault for not asking. This is very underhanded and not right. This is not a good place.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 2 to 4 months ahead for travel between July and September, as rates in Lone Pine typically rise 25-40% due to Mt. Whitney hiking permits and local events. Major chains and boutique hotels along Main Street experience high occupancy during these months.
- Expect 10-14% in combined taxes and fees on nightly rates. This includes California's occupancy tax and a local tourism fee of up to $15 per night. Review the total at booking to avoid surprises.
- Hotels located on or near Main Street offer improved safety, with local crime rates 30% below the U.S. average for similar towns. Walkable access to dining and shops reduces the need for late-night travel.
- If remote work is required, verify hotel Wi-Fi speeds before arrival. Most Lone Pine hotels provide 10-25 Mbps, but rural coverage may be 40-50% less reliable than in larger California cities.
- Request step-free or accessible rooms in advance, as only 30-50% of Lone Pine hotels offer these features due to older building designs. Confirm accessibility needs ahead of arrival for the best availability.
- Pack layered clothing for daily temperature swings of 40-80°F (4-27°C) in summer. Lone Pine is at an elevation of 3,700 feet (1,128 meters), so hydrate frequently, especially if you have altitude sensitivities.
- Help conserve water during California's dry season (May-October). Around 60% of Lone Pine hotels use low-flow fixtures and encourage towel reuse; look for signage in bathrooms as a reminder.
- Use in-network bank ATMs for local currency to avoid 2-3% foreign transaction fees, which are common at other machines. Most banks in town are located along Main Street for easy access.
