Location for sports event

Budget room but not budget price.Room smelled badly of cigarette smoke.No breakfast facilities.Zero room or wall soundproofing...noisy almost all night with shouting and arguing people in the building.

You have to be totally honest - this is a 2 star hotel and for that reason I have given an excellent rating. The place was cleaned every day. Bed was comfortable, a good shower and excellent air conditioning, also a good TV in the room. There is a large fridge on the 1st floor available to store things if needed (none in room) The receptionists were friendly and polite. For our needs, this hotel was in the perfect location, in the heart of the city.

The room smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke on arrival - a good air freshener sorted it. - see next comment Obviously the hotel is very dated and could do with even just a small amount of modernisation. The curtains in the bedroom no doubt retained the cigarette smell! The door locks are antiquated and not sure how safe they are. Even just a coat of paint would freshen up the yellowing ceiling and walls.

It was excellent, for the low price. Located in the middle of a very pleasant city with lots of attractions And dog friendly. The place is friendly. Sleeping is good, bathroom is good. So CHAPEAU

1 The city is so nice that one unfortunately has a parking problem. It is a lot of searching for a parking space.2 If you don't know Spanish then communicating is a big problem. Even one speaks little or no English at all, even among young people. And that for a European country is not good.

The staff were awesome, I have been travelling with my cat and they were very kind and accommodating. We really appreciated it! Even with any language barriers, everyone was kind and tried their best. I really appreciate that! Thank you! PS, great location and very clean (it's an older spainsh building and they keep it very clean)

For the price and location, it was perfect. I will definitely be back for more city breaks!

We had to wait till 16.45 to get our key.But, the man apologised for this.

It's close to the centre, but it is not recommended if you're driving, as there's almost impossible to park in the area. The only option is public parking for aproximativ 18€/day.

One of the worst experience as a guest in many years.While the reception area looks acceptable (you can spot the renovation signs) and the receptionist is quite open to your requests,my experience with the rooms in this hotel was awful. The 1st room allocated wasn't livable. From a very strong smell in the room(like wet paper,old house) to mould in the bathroom ceiling and an unacceptable dirty bed. Missing door knobs,a radiator tired to hang on the wall just decided to rest one side on the floor. You can't offer that room even for free,that is a healthy risk no one will be willing to take.I requested another room,and with no apologies the receptionist handle me.the key for another room. The 2nd room double room this time-on a different floor,was in similar condition regarding the cleanliness. Missing tv remote,an air conditioning unusable because of the noise was doing and this time I took no risk to touch and check bedsheets as I did in the 1st room. Just covered the bed with towels, and I sleep on top as my mind couldn't handle more stress.From mi personal experience,not recomended.

The size of the room it was really small, it was really noise at night time and the smell of cigarette was really strong

A nice man met me at the reception, we communicated through Google Translate, because I don't know Spanish, and he didn't know English. Helped me call a taxi to the airport in the morning.

The room is small, quite cozy, but it smelled very strongly of cigarettes (as I understand it, the smoke was drawn from the hood), the toilet tank was constantly making noise, but it stopped in the morning.

Ac didn’t work, bed was uncomfortable, towels were dirty, and there was a hole in the bathroom ceiling

Breakfast

The hotel is still being renovated, we were settled not at 14:00, but at 16:30, our room was after the builders, there was dust, plaster on the walls in the bathroom, the smell of paint, it was not pleasant, then the electronic lock broke, we could not get in to the room, then the lights were turned off 5 times, it was uncomfortable, the hotel could compensate for this with a udin or a refund of part of the money, but we were not offered anything

no parking as was mentioned on booking, awful smell in rooms, smells like smoking rooms with mold in wardrobe. DIRTY TOWELS and linen.. poor internet connection via wifi. After I requested to change the room due to the horrible smell they proposed me another one with even worse smell of mold and smoke ..after one night there all my clothe started to smell like that place

The best thing about Hotel Real Castellon is the friendly person greeting you at the front desk. He did everything he could to make our stay comfortable, and we really appreciated that. We were glad to have a fridge to put our things in, and we appreciated the private bathroom. We came by bicycle so we were happy to have a patio right outside our room where we could store our bikes.

We really needed a cup of tea but there was no kettle. We were surprised by this because there's a shared kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and toasted sandwich maker. It would be so very easy to add a kettle and it would have completely transformed our stay. As it was, we were told to use the microwave, but there was nothing to heat water in apart from the glass in our room, and it broke!

The only two good things about the property were a decent location and a nice staff at front desk.

The room was dirty and had windows with permanent shutters, it smelled of cigarettes, the toilet didn’t have a working flush but a bucket to fill with water and pour it down the toilet (!!!!!!!!), the shower was mouldy and the bathroom sink was clogged. The bed sheets were dirty and stained, had to sleep on my clothes and towels not to touch the bedding. Tragic…

It's a modest hotel, sure, but my room (a small room for a single person) had all I needed, including TV, air conditioning, safe... The bathroom was fine, bigger than I expected. Room was clean and the bed was made every day. The best thing about it is the location, right in the center of Castellón.

Hot water for showering

Next door to a night club called Mambo. Party goers shouting in the street then coming back to this hotel knocking on doors and slamming them all night. The bottom of the wardrobe was dusty.

Dirty, noisy, poor airconditioning, unable to lock the door, very small bathroom. Not worth the price.

The room was incredibly hot and humid. It was so noisy all night that we couldn't sleep at all. The price is way too high compare to what this accommodation can supply.

I booked a twin but received a double! Cleaner friendlier staff no plugs hanging out of the wall! No blood covered sheets left to fester in the wardrobe! Not a pleasant experience!

Rooms that smell a lot tabaco. Then I got a new one very quickly (and with kindness), but I got many many bites from bed bugs through the night (and yes, no mosquitoes, bed bugs…)
