Pros +
- The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel and restaurant staff were spectacular. The location was perfect for a relaxing beach trip. There was an option to take a shuttle to/from the beach or it was a quick and easy walk. The pool was pretty and well kept.
- The hotel was very nice and decorated so classy yet fun. I loved they had beach access and provided umbrellas and chairs and shuttle. A very nice breakfast as well. Lots of fresh choices. Even fresh made to order omelette and also gourmet cheeses even with honeycomb. Overall a very nice place to stay! The staff was very kind and helpful.
- The cleanliness, comfort and the staff were professional and knowledgeable. It was also nice to see an owner operator making your welcome and stay also exceptional. For commuting to the beach and many other historic sites and towns made this a good Hotel to base yourself in .
Cons -
- The TV system lacked cable choices like Netflix and YouTube.
- The room was really hot because of the heater. When i called the front desk staff, they said they cannot control the air conditioning and that’s just how it is. So i had to sleep with the windows open and pulled the sheer window curtain over the door to not get bit by mosquitoes.
- They gave us a view overlooking their back alley which was a bit of a crappy view overall, especially considering the hotel was for sure not at capacity, I presume they could have easily upgraded our room for free but they didnt offer, and we decided not to ask. The air conditioner did not really work in our room, we couldn't figure it out and it wasn't very powerful, but thankfully it wasn't super necessary. The bathroom was also not as modern as the photographs, but it was fine. Also I personally would not recommend eating at their restaurant for dinner. We both enjoyed the soup that we had as our first course but neither of our second courses were good - my husband's was bizarre and unappetizing (seabass rolled in zucchini with mashed up shrimp) and my pasta carbonara was jusy bad, it had curdled, the pasta was far too underdone (nearly crunchy, not aldente) and the panchetta wasn't cooked fully. We should have complained but it was our last night and we didnt feel like making a scene, we chose to eat at the hotel to relax and so that's what we focused on.

Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. From the friendly early check-in, to the extensive breakfast and expertly prepared dinners, to the comfortable rooms and beds, this hotel should be high on your list if you are planning on visiting Paestum.

The property was clean and quiet

Nice clean room, though a bit small, and modern hotel with some kooky design choices that we got a kick out of. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast each morning was plentiful, fresh, and delicious. We stayed during off season (second week of October), so it was really quiet and it was too cold to swim but I can imagine that the hotel is quite something when the pool and beach club are busy. There is also a neighborhood cat who comes around daily and we became smitten with her (we are cat people and missed our own kitties) - the staff seem to treat her well.

Awesome poolside, breakfast, and staff. Rooms were nice and accommodating.
A/C is only operational for part of the year. We happened to arrive after the air was off for the season- even though it was 80 degrees. Made the room uncomfortable without air flow at night.
Coffee ok. Location very good
dusty floor
Breakfast surprise -not just pastries and coffee. Amazing cheese sampler with buffala, walnut cheese, rucola cheese, local white cheese, and local jams (fig, lemon, berry); superb ham and cheese omelets, pastries with a Nutella dispenser... They had pomegranate water, lemon-ginger water, fresh blood-orange juice... This was one of the few €15 breakfast buffets that I thought was truly worth every cent. Great variety, lovely staff.
Everything was good. :)
Apart from mold in shower it was exceptionally clean.
A lot of Mold in shower, a bit of an ant problem
Nice rooms, beds large enough, kept clean, balcony. All of this was quite good. Easy walking distance to great restaurants as well as the beach!
Balcony lights, super bright, are not under your control, so flood room if you need doors open to cool down. AC at this time of year is off, and the sun can still warm the room considerably. Bathroom water can vary wildly in temperature over the course of a shower.
Very nice ! Great food , staff and owner .Best value for money in long time . Beach very close by , with a bus from Hotel or walking too .
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cerere! The staff was extremely kind, professional, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They organized a small tour for us and gave very detailed information about the local sights, nearby towns, and places to visit. Everything was handled with great attention and care. The atmosphere of the hotel is warm and welcoming, the rooms are comfortable, and the service is truly exceptional. We highly recommend Hotel Cerere to anyone visiting Paestum or the Salerno area — you will definitely feel well taken care of!
The only small downside was the check-out, when we were informed about the local city tax of €40. It came as a bit of a surprise, as it wasn’t included in the original booking price. After checking, we understood that it’s a legal municipal tax in Italy, so we paid it and continued our journey.
We were welcomed by all the staff at reception, the bar, in the dining room and also received a cheery greeting from the housekeeping staff. Excellent choice of food and drink for breakfast with very attentive staff. There was a good choice on the dinner menu and the quality of food and presentation were superb.
There were no problems.
Very lovely hotel aesthetic! A very comprehensive breakfast menu, the room had everything needed, was super clean and well kept. TV had YouTube app! Staff was super friendly all around and there was Plenty of parking in the lot! Highly recommend!
We stayed in the apartment block which is separate from the hotel building and ended up not needing to use any of the hotel facilities. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed. We ended up using the pool next to the apartments rather than the hotel's and most of the time we were the only people there. There are several restaurants within 10 minutes walk and 2 well stocked supermarkets
It would have been nice to have an outside terrace but we knew it did not have one when we booked so it can't be changed. Also be aware that the location is not really Paestum but Laura Mare so it is 5-6km to the Greek temples and train station, a long walk or a taxi or cycle ride (hotel has bikes for hire/use)
Like the very clean and colourful decor. Hotel was spotlessly cleaned throughout and smelt beautiful.Staff were wonderful from the chicken staff to the restaurant staff and the housekeeping team. Everyone’s friendly and so hard-working. Delicious food.
Shower wasn’t great and as we visited, as we were coming out of season, so there wasn’t much to do in the evenings or on a rainy days. And it might be a bit boring for some people, but I enjoyed reading.
Close to the beach - walking distance
Firstly, on arrival, we found out we would be accommodated in an annex, not the actual hotel. I believe that you are accommodated in the hotel only if you are a wealthy Italian, a pilot, doctor or just wealthy. Secondly, The room looked clean at first. Then you could notice a lot of hairs on the sheets and pillows. Next morning there were a lot of ants, who joined us for the whole stay, for free
The breakfast was wonderful, lots of options. The dinner menu was limited. Rooms were clean and nice but bed was rock hard. Staff was helpful and friendly but most had limited English and my Italian is horrible. We were in the cabin section. Pools were nice and the beach area was very nice
The hotel staff was perfect, also they cleaned every day. The beach was perfect for us with view to Amalfy coast in the distance. We used the free shuttle service to reach the beach every day. Very comfortable sunbeds on very clean dark sand. The shade of the umbrellas was large enough for two of us. The ristorante on the beach was exceptional and we had every day perfect lunch there. The hotel ristorante offers perfect service including interesting, rich and very tasty local menu, extremely white table cloths, and waiters with uniforms, it was pleasure to eat there.
Hotel ristorante was accessible only with reservations. Size of the room was 1 idea little and there was only one wardrobe, which was not enough if you travel with luggage for more than 2 days, and I was there 10 days, there just was no space for my trip to get it out of suitcase.
