    Pros +

    • The staff were very helpful and certainly went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Our Room 802 I think the pick as had balcony with nice city views. Room design much better than room on 6 floor.Good price with nice brekky

    • I had a fantastic experience at this hotel. My room was impressively spacious, much larger than average, and felt incredibly bright and airy. It was a very comfortable and relaxing space. What truly stood out, however, was the staff. Every employee was genuinely friendly, warm, and professional. They were exceptionally helpful, handling all my requests for directions and recommendations with efficiency. The combination of a great room and outstanding service made my stay exceed all expectations. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

    Cons -

    • Bed was too hard for my old bones but still ok
    • nothing in particular.
    • Our only issue with this room was that the bathroom was not renovated compared to the rest of the hotel so we had a pretty scary experience with a shaky bathtub which was elevated very high. We told the staff about this and they immediately offered us a room change ơn another floor which had a renovated bathroom with a standing shower.

Got upgraded, spacious quiet room and a great location that's walking distance to main attractions. many places to eat as well. booked a day trip to Ha Long Bay through the hotel and it was great as well. would recommend and def come back in the future. the staff is also very helpful.

    nothing in particular.

Tucked away in a small alley street, this hotel is shielded from the loud noises and chaotic streets of the main roads. Their staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Our first room was a double queen bed room on the second floor which was very spacious. There is a mini fridge and water refilled by the staff every day. There is a large closet and table. The location is so nice, even though it’s a bit further from the center of the Old Quarters. We enjoyed returning to the quiet hotel area after a long day of busy streets.

Our only issue with this room was that the bathroom was not renovated compared to the rest of the hotel so we had a pretty scary experience with a shaky bathtub which was elevated very high. Next to Trainstreet and the old quarter ...

You should not watch unter the bed. They told me if I wanna have a window, I should cancel on booking and pay cash

The staff so friendly and helpful and location close to everything and the room clean

I had a very spacious room on 7th floor with two windows, lots of daylight and a comfortable bed. The location is very central, the neighborhood & street are calm and the reception staff very friendly. To be recommended! I had stayed previously in another hotel, more expensive and very noisy, and by far prefer Urban Alley.

No breakfast available at the hotel, but there are plenty of cafes (and even some bakeries) close by. The bathroom was functional but would benefit from some refreshing.

The staff were very friendly and gave us all our money back because we couldn't even stay one night.

Everything else was bad. The pictures are nothing at all like the hotel. Its filthy, doesn't have any of the listed facilities, the AC doesn't work. Its awful, they did give us all of our money back because we couldn't even stay one night. The pictures is the AC filter which obviously hadn't been cleaned in months.

    Nice location

We came to stay here for a night hoping for a simple but clean hotel. We were very disappointed... As others have mentioned, the rooms are big, but size doesn't matter as much as what you do with it. First experience was already poor: we saw something we thought was a mouse skitter past from the corner of our eye, so I went downstairs to report this. The first thing the receptionist asked was how big the mouse was, without expressing any concern or apology. He claimed that there were no other rooms available. He joins us upstairs and we find a large cockroach (video attached), which he smashes on the floor and puts in the toilet. After a while the owner (presumably, an older lady) comes up and we show her, suddenly there is a room available. Unfortunately we're still quite uncomfortable: the lock on the door doesn't work, airco wasn't controllable, and the general state of the room wasn't great either. The lady then had us call with the manager, who claimed that if the room was not to our satisfaction, he would give us a full refund. In the morning, they would only give us 50% on the condition that we would mark ourselves as 'no-show' on booking.com, meaning we wouldn't be able to write a review... This just seems like trickery to me.Overall, our biggest issue was not so much the cockroach, which can happen in any tropical place, but more the way the staff handled our concerns. On top of that they were constantly arguing about it together in front of us, which didn't make us comfortable. We are confused about all the positive reviews and feedback, because we didn't feel very welcome at all. Hopefully this honest review will help people make the right call in the future, because there's plenty of nice 3 star hotels in Hanoi that do live up to it.

A great location, and even greater people from the owner to the staff. A perfect location for visiting the city. Very helpful staff. Amazing laundry service. And I love the owner

Rooms had lots of peeling paint, dust and showed its age Really needs a deep clean and refresh. But I would absolutely stay here again.

Owner and her staff are amazing. The location is perfect. The Hotel needs some attention and updating as there’s paint peeling and some cleanliness and dust issues. But I would absolutely stay here again. It’s a great value and I can’t say enough about the people operating the hotel.

It needs some attention to dust and cleanliness in the room. The lightbulbs and shades on the lamps next to the bed we’re really in need of attention. Paint was peeling in many places. Sort of like a fine old lady that aged and could use a little makeover work

Everything was exceed my expectations, staff, tours offered and big room considering the price! Best deal ever

They allowed me to stay longer for an hour than 12:00nn in room for free

Good location, near the main street but far enough away to not be disturbed by the traffic etc. really good air con, comfy bed. Lovely and accommodating staff that helped with anything they could

The toilet flush only worked half the time and the fridge had a funny smell. Each day I had to request my free water rather than it being left outside my room for me.

Upon arrival, my TV was not working and one of the staff immediately resolved the issue by fully replacing the TV. Air conditioning got very cold and the room never felt muggy even without a window. Bed was reasonably comfortable and the shower got scalding hot on demand.

Some of the channels on TV had poor reception. It could use some cosmetic touch ups and a cleaning of the fans. Overall the price was a bit steep for what was offered but that is average for Hanoi Old Quarter.

    Bad

    - All rooms are really really dirty and everything is old and broken - After 00:00h the main door is closed like in a dormitory stay. - The old lady at the front desk(the owner) is very unfriendly, Never greeting guest. - They lost my stuff at laundry service, but never apologized or takes responsiblity for it.

My room was spacious and had nice art on the walls. My bed was comfortable and I enjoyed my stay here.

I can’t really think of anything.

Great location, in the very centre of the city. Very big room with seating area. Very comfortable beds. Quite big bathroom. Free mineral water refilled daily.

There was no separate shower in the bathroom. Windowsills in the bathroom were extremely dirty. Bathroom fan looks like it has never been cleaned.
