Chalcedony Grand Hotel

Not a pleasant experience and would not recommend to anyone else

The room was cramped and had an unpleasant odor. The hotel did not provide basic toiletries, and when I requested them, they informed me that it was a rule of the tourism ministry that they were not permitted to provide them. However, I received toiletries in all other hotel stays during my trip to Vietnam. They charge exorbitant fees for late checkouts, whereas almost every other hotel offers free late checkouts.

Staff is really good even with limited english

Old, even the carpet smells.

Central, clean, nice breakfast

The staff and the bedroom with AC.24h open supermarket, downstairs.

There was construction on the last night, next to the hotel. I would never expect noise at 1h in the morning…Is not the hotel’s fault, but should be more rules to avoid these things.

Lovely staff, large room, very clean

A very affordable, modest property with excellent value. Perfect location. They offer luggage storage if you are doing side trips. Helpful staff. My small room was was priced accordingly and perfect for one. Had a view of the city. Highly recommend.

Quality of some breakfast products like breads and coffee. These could improve. There was a wide selection of items that would cover most people, however.

Nice staff. Clean.

My room had no window. I didn’t mind but some might. This feature needs to be posted.

Very good

Nice clean room. Good selection at breakfast for the money. Only a 1 night business stay but you could you it as your base to explore Hanoi.

The breakfast was very good

I used 2 filters; bath and balcony and found this place, however on arrival I soon discovered that there are no rooms with a bath and a balcony. You can have either a bath OR a balcony! Weird I know, and the room photos would make you believe a room exists with both a bath and a balcony.

didn’t care for room on first night- window to a hallway. the hotel was full so Jo change was possible. the second day, however, they upgraded me to a lovely room on the 10th floor with a balcony overlooking Hanoi. plus, for a very small fee they allowed a late checkout. the staff was very kind and helpful throughout my stay.

Location

Staff members were excellent, friendly, and very caring. Highly recommended this place. Thank you for your hospitality and service. Much appreciated. 10/10

Was not disappointed, they were great. 10/10 I rate. Thank you for your service. Very much appreciated.

Comfortable hotel

It would have been great to have some sort of pool/outside bar terrace, which would have instantly elevated the property 100%

The Breakfast selection and staff were superb!

Good, basic hotel, but a bit aged. Very friendly staff.
