Beautiful historical property, the tour is fun and the food is great. Drinks at bamboo bar are delicious too.

the front desk treated me and my daughter disrespectfully - we had a bank blockage issue arriving into the country and had been very sick on the plane. We were not received with graciousness that a hotel of this stature should offer. Very disappointing. The general manager of the hotel apologized which was appreciated, but I hope this offers a learning for that particular part of their staff towards future guests - please do not act robotically in a hospitality role.

The property was very clean, spacious, filled with tons of character/charm, and in a perfect location. The staff was so incredibly helpful and genuine. Everyone was gracious and kind throughout our stay. My wife even left her wedding ring behind and they quickly found it and overnighted it to us in Phu Quoc on the next part of our honeymoon. We will be a Sofitel family for the rest of our lives after this trip!

In a quiet part of the city but walkable to all the places we wanted to go and eat. The spa treatment was amazing. Service was great, they were very attentive and answered all our questions and needs promptly. Bed is super comfy and the food is delicious.

A proper five star hotel from check in to check out. Beautiful room, very comfortable bed, no noise whatsoever, excellent facilities such as gym, sauna, steam room, spa. Would 100% recommend for a proper five star hotel experience.

Exceptional experience! It was our wedding anniversary and the staff did their best for us during our stay to celebrate this day - like giving us flowers, box of heart shaped chocolate and a very cute hand written card. Also our room was upgraded to a better one, which was also very nice. The breakfast was amazing - lots of food to choose from and also the place where it is served is very beautiful. The room was always super clean, the staff attentive and friendly. So definitely can recommend for anyone coming to Hanoi to enjoy some peace and quiet in the bustling town. Also it was interesting to participate in the tour of the hotel and to see the history behind this building. Would love to come back here again! Definitely a great value and a real five star experience.

The room was a little bit too small, basically just bed and a small table and chair. But since it’s a historic building in the city center it’s understandable. Also our windows were overlooking the street and it could get a little noisy sometimes. For example there were some celebrations on the street and the music could be heard until 11pm or so, and early in the morning (6-7am) we could hear the music from the small park nearby where they do tai chi. So maybe if you want a quiet night it’s better to ask for the inner garden view. However these small things didn’t influence our overall experience and all in all it was an amazing and memorable stay.

This is a very good hotel and was once considered the best hotel in Hanoi.The hotel is elegantly decorated and has several excellent restaurants and bars. Prices are on the higher side, but the food is delicious. The entire staff is professional and welcoming.

Our key card coulodn't work in the elevator.As someone who is almost 60, it was embarrassing to be ridiculed by a twentysomething passenger in the elevator as if we don't know how to use the elevator.For a hotel of this caliber, such a mistake is outrageous.

Upon arrival, the hotel kindly upgraded our rooms and offered us a very generous voucher to use in the hotel facilities. We used this voucher for airport transfer for me and my four friends, We rarely see in most hotels.

The hotel is excellent and beautiful, with a great location. Everything was very good overall.However, I have a few general comments that I hope can be improved:• The check-in and check-out were slow. Unfortunately, there was only one staff member handling this process during both our arrival and departure, which took around 15 to 25 minutes just to check in.• The next morning, the Guitar music was extremely loud and woke me up, but once I contacted the reception, they immediately turned it off.Overall, the hotel is truly beautiful, and I highly recommend staying here.

We were upgraded to a magnificent room on the 7th floor, and I could not find fault with the service we received. Very professional staff. The best breakfast in Vietnam.

It was a little confusing where to be picked up for our transfer as there are two entries and exits. The pool was crowded and difficult to find a seat near it.

Breakfast was very good. All of the staff were excellent.

I had three different dishes. They were not as good as one would expect in a five star hotel and they were very expensive even by European standards.

Property is stunning and the staff & service was incredible. The perfect hotel in terms of culture, architecture and overall heritage and design. A sanctuary in the middle of Hanoi. We loved the pool and the level of service from the moment you lay down to relax - with water, towels, fruit & snacks given complimentary each time. We used several of the restaurants including the cocktail bar, and we also used the spa (x2 massages) and the gym - all were 10/10.We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a birthday trip, and the team went above and beyond - providing a complimentary upgrade, birthday cake in the room, birthday card etc….. thank you so much ?Staying here made our whole travel experience in Hanoi unforgettable. We will certainly return next time we visit Hanoi and will recommend this hotel to our family and friends. Thank you to the Sofitel team & management for an incredible stay & experience.

For our first trip to Vietnam, we chose this hotel for its reputation, history and location.We enjoyed our stay, the staff were amazing and helpful.The only downsize was that the welcome treat was missed twice in a row for both our stays.A must visit hotel and a must live experience.

Great experience staying in this historic property filled with memories and history.Everything was great from the facility to the staff, the only downside was that we haven’t had any complimentary fruit basket or welcome treat, considering the cost of food in Vietnam which is very cheap, and considering the hotel standard, which was unusual for us, having stayed in many other Fairmont and Sofitel properties.
