Hanoi Backpackers Hostels Rooftop Bar

This hostel is honestly one of the best I’ve ever stayed in, no exaggeration. The staff are incredible! Huge shoutout to the reception team: Linda, Thuong, Son, Gabriel, and of course the owner, Sam. They’re always ready to help with literally anything, and they go above and beyond every time. I highly, highly recommend this place.

The staff often seemed distracted, and the atmosphere was dominated by loud British and Australian guests. Only the first eight floors are served by an elevator, so reaching the breakfast area and rooftop bar requires climbing a narrow, two-story staircase that feels claustrophobic. Late at night, my friend tried to step out onto the bar area for a breath of fresh air, but the staff blocked him and spoke curtly, even though there was still a table full of people outside. I’ve come to believe it was probably after closing, but they could have been more hospitable. For my own peace of mind, I’m assuming those remaining guests were volunteers and that the staff’s behavior wasn’t racially motivated.

Great location, comfy beds, clean, amazing breakfast and good bar on the roof to chillout.

Premium location, it is close to everything you need! We actually stayed here in a private room, which was great after travelling from Canada (40hrs of travel), we then stayed here again in a dorm room style. We obviously like the private room better, dorm was to be expected. The rooftop bar was great - lots of drink specials and could pre drink before going to beer street. Staff was absolutely phenomenal for helping us plan our trip making everything very convenient. I would come back here

Cleanliness in the dorms - however this is kind of to be expected.

The breakfast buffet is insane. It's so much value for money! I came back to this hostel just for the breakfast because it's that good. The location is perfect. In the heart of old quarter. The place to be. Rooftop is view is great. It's easy to befriend people here, altho 90% of guests are British which is annoying. It's a party place, and many small groups staying, so expect some noise and lack of consideration...

The second time I stayed here I was assigned a room that faces beer street. It was really noisy and impossible for me to fall asleep. The internet didn't work on the third floor.

The big plus factor of this hostel is the buffet breakfast that outclassed other hostels of this category at this price. The bathroom/shower area is inside the dormitory, which is easy to access, and you don’t need to go outside.

I didn’t like what I saw one night when one of the staff of the hostel just folded the comforter/blanket for a new guest coming in, but he didn’t replace it. I assumed this must be the SOP for all hostels to provide fresh and clean bedsheets, pillow covers, and blankets before a guest arrives.

Breakfast was nice.

The room collected a lot of moisture and the bed and things were damp. Nothing could get the towel dry. the room was cramped. Wifi connection did not work in the room.

Please avoid at all costs! This hostel is a scam and is designed for 18 year olds who want to get blackout drunk and don

The accommodation was filthy and rampant with bed bugs. Rubbish and filth like used cotton buds were left under the beds and the staff couldn’t care less. Extremely Noisy as windows don’t close

Stains on my bed sheets and duvet cover which had been hidden by the cleaning staff by rolling up the Duvet and putting it over the stain on the bed sheets.

Beds were very comfortable, breakfast was nice

No common area besides the chaotic lobby area downstairs which didn’t feel welcoming. The dorm beds have curtains which is great, but they are unfortunately very see-through. Bathroom smelt funny and was dirty. No towels included.

The breakfast and the rooftop bar were fantastic. The location was also fabulous. Additionally, the social atmosphere of the hostel was really enjoyed.

The bathroom was small and unclean, even after the daily clean. Minimal complaints though, however, the 4 bedroom room has no airconditioner.

I can't fault the location of the hostel right in the heart of the old town, the breakfast was nice.

Room wasn't what was described on the website, it had no windows and I had to go through a shop to get to the room. I left early and booked alternative accommodation which was much better.
