Hanoi Gallant Hotel

Good local location.

Was charged for red bull and 2 bottles of water that I did not used. Went ahead and paid for it anyways.

Room itself was clean and had enough space. Check in was simple and straightforward.

Location was a bit off track and some common areas could’ve been cleaner

Like the bedding, very comfy and big room. Toilet was spacious. Although, we were told water was free but were then charged on check out.

We had a problem with rats in the ceiling of our bathroomBut they moved us to a different room.One of the night staff who checked us in was very rude to us.

We came back here 3 times during our stay in Northern Vietnam. The hotel itself is a bit out of the city so it's quiet but an easy Grab ride into Old Town. The beds are the comfiest I've slept on at a hotel, the bathroom was spotless and plenty of hot water. We found the staff to be lovely and welcoming.

The windows were open in the rooms with the stairwell backing, because guests didn't know they were open you could hear things going on in their rooms echoing in the stairwell, if you catch my drift..... maybe leave the curtain open so guests can close the window

40min walk (or 40k grab taxi) to old quarter and the view was towards an interior staircase of sorts

The facilities are acceptable.

The staff can be more honest as they failed to inform the guest about the extra charges in advance and with clear indications.They tried to surcharge me for two items that I was not informed in advance: the bottled water and late check-out. For the bottled water, there are two types of bottled water available in the room, and there is no clear indication which type is for free. I asked the receptionist the night I checked in and he failed to give a clear answer. As such I randomly chose a bottle, and when I checked out, the new receptionist asked me to pay for the bottle even when I am not certain about the charges. The bottled water on the desk is for free, and the hotel won't tell you that. It's absurd for a guest to make a guide like this.For the late check-out, they didn't inform me in advance or ask me whether I need to extend, so I was late for a few minutes. When I handed my key card, they asked me for the surcharge with a price they randomly quote. Make sure you won't be late for any second if you intend to stay in the facility.Also, they don't show a welcoming attitude to address the misunderstanding. Although there is at least one receptionist who can speak or at least understand a bit of English, they decided to let the one who can barely speak English to show messages in Google Translation.Not to mention they won't take any bank cards. You can only pay in cash.

It was clean and with a nice bathroom.

The staff was not super helpful, the location of the hotel is a bit further from for example the old quarter. We wanted to have breakfast in the hotel but that wasn’t possible, which is a shame.

not close to centre but worked out well for my plan cause it was nearer to my friensds. Cleanliness was good.

The mini bar kept making weird noise. Reception requested me for my ID apart from my passport since it was local rules for proof of my stay which was ridiculous and this is the first time I've ever heard of this. Noisy when people walking through the hallway.

Cheap rooms with late check in option not far from Hanoi Old Quarter. Spatious and clean rooms.

Cigarettes smell, especially in the bathroom. Window connected to an internal aeration channel.

The room and bathroom were both a really good size, very spacious. It was also very clean

For an English visitor, it was a little hard communicating as the staff didn’t speak great English. We had to rely on Google translate. The hotel was also quite far from the main centre. It’s easy to get a taxi (using Grab), which is also very cheap (approx £1.50) but it’s about a 40 minute walk, and there’s not much around the hotel.

Nice room, really comfy bed, good air con, 2 working lifts, water refills every day (but only the ones on the side, the fridge ones weren't free)

Shower wasn't great, some receptionists didn't speak English, no locked luggage room you just had to leave your luggage in the lobby, no breakfast option, you could hear other people in the bathroom from your bathroom

The rooms are comfortable and big. The bathroom has a bathtub.

The location is pretty bad, about a 40min walk to the actual center of Hanoi. The rooms are fine. The staff didn’t speak a word of English, but were polite and helpful.

Nice big rooms comfortable beds and lovely customer service even though no one speaks English here. Was clean and well maintained. Good showers and AC

We came back one night to our window and door to our room open apparently you have to also lock your room with your key card which is unusual in Europe but we checked cctv and no one entered and all our stuff was still there. A little creepy . The lift also goes off at random times in the night

surround hotel is somehow quiet, and there is not enough services if someone wants to enjoy local things.

Nice place! I spent one night there, just on the day of Lunar New year. Everything was great. The hotel is nice and clean. The shower is really good. The guy at the reception desk was very friendly and hospitable. I needed to check out at 12.00 but he kindly allowed me to leave my luggage at the reception until 14.00.

Lack of hot water

The Room overall was neat and had all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. One issue i faced was my door lock card was not working and had to use keys which was pretty difficult to lock the room. Other than that it was a pretty decent hotel to stay in.

The property was one of the cleaner stays in SEA in terms of overall cleanliness and the toilet. Worth staying for a night only.

Mold hidden behind the bed.The staff also asked us to cancel our booking.com booking when we arrived at noon if we wanted to check in early and pay them cash. When I said I won’t cancel, they made me sit down in the lobby for 2 hours. This is such a bad business practice to avoid paying commission to booking.com.Bedsheets were not changed from the old tenants when we checked in and just made to look nice.They don’t accept card at all even though they say they do, and only let you pay with cash.
