Mai Charming Hotel and Spa

Checkin was smooth even when I arrived late because I was coming from a sleeper bus from Sapa.

More of a personal issue since the bed was a little too hard so my lower back was uncomfortable.

Very accommodating and the room was spacious! Also accessible to Old Quarter’s food spots :)

Good location. Nice staff, especially Thao and Hoa were very supportive with our requests.

Responsive staff. Ms. Mei assisted us to book our airport transfer and accommodated our request to change the schedule. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Please add a handle ot storage for the hairdryer. The top towel rack is not ideal for it.

Great location, loved the 'family suite' configuration with a bit of privacy between the beds and the large balcony. Was quiet on the high floor.

Great location! It is a 8-minute to the lake and is in the middle of all the shopping and dining options. The room was sizeable. We booked the two queen beds and was pleased to see the beds separated by a short hallway in our room, providing for more privacy. It’s an old3r building so there’s some obivous wear and tear. However, it was overall clean and the location is convenient. The staff is nice and helpful. There is a short staircase up to the reception and they helped carry up our luggage.

There were some wear and tear, such as a broken lamp and chips and markings on the wall. The bathroom and shower is open concept, with a shower drain in the room, and so the shower head faces the bathroom door, which may cause leaking.

My experience here was the worst possible. I only didn't leave because I arrived almost at midnight, but I was outraged by the unsanitary conditions of the room. Old and dirty. Tiny room, the TV doesn't work, and the bed is as hard as a piece of wood. The whole issue is that I felt cheated. Because the photos showed a clean and new place, if I had imagined it was of this standard I would never have stayed here.

The hotel is located in the Old Quarter which is easily reach out to the other attractions on foot. The staff is friendly. The room is ok for the value. However some facilities need improvement. Thanks Linh and Thao for your welcome.

Very good location for everything you want to see and do in Hanoi. The staff are very kind and helpful (Hoa and Nguyen). Great value for the price and highly recommended.

The accommodation was cozy, conveniently located, and the staff were warm and helpful. Although the room had no window, it had an exhaust fan and was very clean, so I had no issues. Considering the price I paid (around USD 22), it was great value for money.

If you’re fine staying right in the middle of the chaos of Hanoi and looking for a budget option, this hotel is okay. For the price you pay, the room is within a reasonable range.

However, the photos don’t really reflect the actual condition of the hotel — it definitely needs some maintenance. Also, the bathroom wasn’t completely clean; there was mold between the tile joints.

The windowless room I stayed in had poor ventilation and felt humid. I took this tipe of room for the less noise advantage and it was quiet.

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly—special thanks to receptionist Nguyen for her helpfulness during my stay. However, the room felt a bit stuffy due to the lack of windows. Hopefully, this can be improved in the future.

I arrived quite late for check-in, but the receptionist - Minh was extremely kind and helpful, which made me feel very comfortable. The room isn’t very large, but it’s perfectly fine for a solo traveler. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and was satisfied with the experience.

We had a very pleasant stay here. Special thanks to Nguyen and Mei at the reception, who were always friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The facilities are a bit old, but everything was clean, comfortable, and in good working order. For the price, it’s definitely worth it and fits the budget well. Overall, this is a place I would recommend for a comfortable and affordable stay.

Such a warm and welcoming place! The design is modern, rooms are very cozy and quiet at night. What really stood out was how kind the staff were – especially Minh, who recommended some fantastic local restaurants we wouldn’t have found on our own. Absolutely deserves 10/10

Perfect stay from start to finish. The room was spotless, the bed super comfortable and the location couldn’t be better. A big thanks to Nguyen at the reception for helping us with directions and always greeting us with a smile. Definitely a 10/10 experience
