    Pros +

    • The decor, the lovely staff, the location right in the middle of the Old Quarter and walking distance to the lake. The breakfasts were fabulous - we couldn't fault a thing!
    • The location is great and staff were very kind.
    • Lovely boutique hotel with a great staff and convenient location. Highly recommended

    Cons -

    • The room was very small and dark. No windows to get sunlight. The breakfast was below average. The beds were not comfortable. We had hot water in the shower for about 2 minutes and then cold the rest of the time.
    • One minor thing was that our room didn’t have a window looking outside. It was nice because the room was nice and dark but some might prefer a window. Otherwise, it was great.
    • Not so clean

The location of the property is unbeatable and allows the ability to walk anywhere within Old Quarter. The staff were so friendly, helpful and attentive and made our stay very comfortable. Beds were nice and comfortable and AC and WiFi worked well. Good value for what we paid!

    - Breakfast: Started 6:30am-10:30am. Most of my tours started at 7am, so this was perfect for me to eat something before leaving for the tours. - Location: I have absolutely no complaints about the location. It was close to all the hotspots. Everything was walking distance. There were cafes and restaurants close by as well if you didn't want to venture out too far. - Room: As a solo traveller, this room was spacious. Even for 2 people, it would have been a good size. There was enough counter space, closet space, floor space to put your luggage, toiletries, and clothes. - Staff: The staff were super helpful every step of the way. When I first booked the hotel, they reached out to me via whatsapp to introduce themselves and provide me with helpful information. I believe they said that they also run a tour company, so I booked all my tours through them. It was easy and seamless. They even helped book my roundtrip bus ticket to Sapa, Vietnam. I appreciated their quick response to all my inquiries.

    - For my Vietnam trip, I first spent 1 night in Hanoi upon arrival, went to Sapa, then came back to Hanoi. Both times I was in Hanoi, I stayed at this hotel for convenience. The day I arrived in Vietnam, they checked me in and explained all the necessary information. When I went to settle in my room, the cleaners were in the middle of cleaning my room still. This took me by surprise a bit. I awkwardly stood in the hall for them to finish setting up my room. I was fine to wait, but I think there was a communication error among the staff.

The hotel itself is really pretty… the lobby area, hallways, even the stairs up to the restaurant are all neat to look at. It’s a very Vietnamese layout, with long narrow hallways. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and there was a mini fridge that we took advantage of to store water and snacks. The breakfast menu was plentiful and offered both Vietnamese and Western options. And the location is perfect: right in Old Town near the lake, so easy access to shops, restaurants, spas, and so much more. What makes this hotel special though is the staff. All of the staff speak English, which made interactions a breeze. We dealt with Hannah the most during our trip and we adored her, but we honestly didn’t have a bad word to say about any of the desk staff. They were attentive, knowledgeable, kind, friendly, etc. Hannah helped us book our overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay, and her suggestions were on point - that cruise was the highlight of our trip.

It wasn’t an issue for us, but something that others may struggle with: The elevator doesn’t go all the way up to the restaurant on the 8th floor… you take the elevator to the 7th floor, and then walk up a flight of (really pretty) stairs to get to the restaurant. So if mobility is an issue for you, that may be a problem. The other potential issue is a lack of natural light… because of the traditional Vietnamese building layout (narrow but long and tall), rooms get very little natural light depending on the floor… the lower the floor, the less natural light you’ll get. If you are someone who needs to rise with the sun, you should bring a sunlight-simulating alarm clock.

Great location for exploring, breakfast is really good, with western and asian options, and really great for kids. Great value. The rooms are a little odd but the building is older so it is to be expected. Our room had two sleeping areas, more than enough room to accommodate my family. The air-conditioning was excellent, we needed it, Hanoi was hot, hot, hot.

The water pressure in the room was poor. That definitely could have been better. There was a wild bees nest on the balcony, that I am sure should have been moved, so we could not utilize the balcony at all. Also, the doors to the balcony would not lock, so as far as security goes, this was alarming. That said, with a bees nest on your balcony, I would imagine that any would be thief would get a huge shock if encountering the bees.

The location is great—right in the center of restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions. However, be mindful that this street often experiences heavy traffic. If you have a morning flight, be sure to leave for the airport well in advance. The made-to-order breakfast was delicious, and they allow you to order more than one item from the menu.

Our room, which was supposed to be a family room with two bedrooms, felt more like two separate rooms joined together, with no common area where we could gather.

    9DaniloPosted on: 5-13-2025

The hotel location. The hotel staff are friendly and are always ready to accommodate your queries. They are ready to inform you of all the good place to eat and all the tourist place to visit. They even waive my fee for the transportation from the hotel to the airport. When you avail of the breakfast in the hotel, it is not a buffet but a set meal. However, you can order all the breakfast offered in the menu until you are full.

Drinking water is not readily available / accessible in the restaurant at the 9th floor. Another thing we do not like is the absence of a possible cover to the big window in the bathroom of a family suite 701. Somebody in another room can accidentally watch you naked. Maybe installing a curtain inside the bathroom is a good idea

The staff were all helpful and accommodating. We arrived earlier than the check in time but they let us stay and accepted our luggages while we shop around the area. They managed to find us last minute day tour.

Though the hotel is small, we still enjoyed our stay coz it is close to restaurants and shops.

Great location in Old Quarter, the staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem for them. Jackie the manager communicated well with us thru WhatsApp before we arrived and made everything easy.

There are 3 La Selva Hotels in Hà Nội, just be careful which one you book and where you go. We met friends from Australia there and we accidentally booked different La Selva hotels, but Hackie the manager sorted it all the following day so we were all in the same hotel

    4DavidPosted on: 5-1-2025

The staff went out of their way to be helpful, including relocating us to a ‘sister’ property a short walk away

The adjoining neighbor is doing major construction work and the drilling and hammering reverberate through the concrete walls of the entire hotel. We were awoken at 1:50 AM as they loaded material to site and again at 5AM when the very loud works began

Lovely hotel in a great location; staff were great, particularly at breakfast (which was super) and Mia who was keen to make our visit as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

    Nothing not to like

    10YujiPosted on: 4-24-2025

Staff were friendly indeed and their hospitality was really high. The introduction to the Ha Long Bay tour was perfect!

If they offer more "Asian" morning menu, then the satisfaction will be much higher.

    Not happy at all

I book 1 bedroom with 2 bed But when I’m there no 2bed Only single bed

    2souriyoPosted on: 4-22-2025

The breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety, and the location is unbeatable - right in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The staff were accommodating and always ready to help. Wifi good range, but could be more stable.

The first night, the room felt very humid and damp - including the bed, which was uncomfortable. Overall, the space didn’t feel clean or well-prepared; it gave the impression that we were given a leftover room due to our late 10 PM check-in while supposed to have a "free upgrade with genius status".For the following four nights, we were upgraded to a much better room, which we truly appreciated. However, there were still a few minor issues with that room as well.

    10JaynePosted on: 4-22-2025

Staff were incredibly friendly - always ready to suggest great places to find delicious food and book tours/transfers, breakfast was so delicious and room had everything we needed!
