We had a spacious room. The hotel provides complimentary fruit and water. We staff were very helpful.
Breakfast staff very friendly and on hand to assist and accommodated all and any special requests. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and our request to be be close to each other was met to perfection. The location of the hotel is exceptional, easy to get around and close to all amenities. Staff from reception to concierge all amazing.
Nothing, the staff made our stay wonderful.
The location, the bed, the staff
The food at the mandatory dinner
Exceptional location near Hoan Kiem Lake. The bustling hubs of Hanoi ie the Old Quarter and French Quarter are all a stone's throw away. Good breakfast with a noteworthy Beef Pho. Service with a smile from all the hotel staff.
Can update the decor a little bit to give a fresher look.
We stayed at La Nueva Boutique Hotel & Spa for 7 nights, though two of those nights were spent on a private Ha Long Bay cruise. We appreciated that our room was left intact during those nights, as we didn’t have to pack and unpack after a long drive. The room was a bit smaller than what we’re used to, but it was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped with all the usual amenities: air conditioning, mini bar, tea/coffee pot, safe, etc.The staff at La Nueva is exceptional. On our way from El Nido, Philippines, our flight was delayed by over six hours. Our hotel pickup was scheduled for the early hours of the morning (1:30am), and the only option to update the timing was via WhatsApp. Dave not only responded promptly to my late-night message but also followed up with a call to ensure everything was arranged properly. Kudos to Dave for going above and beyond! When we arrived, Jenny gave us a thorough orientation of the hotel and the surrounding Old Quarter, answering all our questions and getting us settled quickly. We were able to arrange and pay for our departure airport transfer with a Visa card, which made our end-of-stay logistics effortless. On one occasion, I had a linen jacket tailored but couldn’t pick it up before the tailor shop closed due to traffic delays returning from Ninh Binh. The reception staff immediately arranged for the tailor to deliver the jacket directly to the hotel—such thoughtful service! The included breakfast was delightful. While my personal favorite was the beef pho, the buffet was varied and delicious. The staff were highly communicative and genuinely seemed to care about our experience, which made every morning a pleasure. At the end of our stay, Lily ensured our airport transfer was perfectly on time and made sure we were well looked after. It was the small attentions—the fastidiousness and care of the staff—that made us feel valued and respected. Thanks to Dave, Jenny, Lily, and the entire team.
Fantastic location in old Hanoi and very comfortable room
Breakfast was not that great
This was our second stay at the hotel as we left our luggage at the hotel in between stays for a few days while we did a tour in the north. Again the staff at this hotel were absolutely spectacular! So kind and generous. The breakfast was good. The room was clean and well laid out. They offered to upgrade us but we decided to stay in the room we were originally assigned. What really makes this hotel stand out above many places we’ve stayed before is the kindness and efficiency of the staff. Truly remarkable! I would highly recommend this hotel. As well the location was excellent, close to many areas.
We did have a bit of water leaking into our bathroom from the unit above, likely because the showers were not very water tight. Not a big deal and dealt with immediately.
We very much liked the location, the level of cleanliness of the whole hotel and the view.
We loved the warm welcome drink and fruit. We loved the staff! We appreciated that they extended Happy Hour for us as we arrived 15 minutes after it ended and the Sky Bar had a great vive, great music, the drinks actually had some alcohol and we ordered food as well that was beautifully presented and tasted great. The beds were comfortable and they honored my request for a room not facing the street high level so it was quiet.
The room was very small and nothing special. Compared to prices in Vietnam, it was actually quite expensive. But I guess the central location explains that — it’s only about a 5-minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. They have a sky bar that looks much smaller in real life than in the photos. Don’t expect it to be a lively club where outsiders come to hang out, but it’s quite chill if you just want to relax at the hotel. In short, if you want a central location, this is a good choice. But if you’re looking for a spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully designed room, don’t expect too much. After all, hotels in Hanoi’s Old Quarter don’t usually have large spaces unless you go for big 5-star ones that cost around €200 per night. As for the staff — they were wonderful, though to be fair, hotel service in Vietnam is generally excellent, 90% of the time or more.
The room was quite small and felt a bit stuffy.
Awesome hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The rooftop bar was a great starting point for a night with happy hour deals overlooking the lake and surrounding areas. The guys up there also speak great English. Room was cozy and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was a good spread with decent quality. You can ask to have the kitchen prepare pho or eggs.
Nothing not to like really. The upper floors of the bar didn't open while we were there, but it would have been cool if they did.
The staff were absolutely amazing. Kevin was especially helpful — he gave me great recommendations about what to see and do in Hanoi, helped me get tickets for the Water Puppet Show, and made everything easy. All the other staff were equally kind, attentive, and welcoming, which made my stay feel very personal and comfortable.
Nothing really, everything was great — maybe just that I wish I could’ve stayed longer!
Clean room, good water pressure, decent breakfast. Location is decent. WiFi strong and relatively reliable.
Rooms are far too expensive for what they offer and the size. The views from the rooms are of the adjacent buildings.Hot water is either one of those that's either full scalding hot or completely cold, with the comfort range only within a few millimeters of movement on the mixing valve. The staff is *very* pushy about reviews and they are dishonest. They tried to push to get a paper review on the spot, then wanted an online review immediately. I told them I'd do so later. They then had a different person approach me to do the same while we were waiting for our car, then moved over and did the same with my girlfriend. They kept asking her if we we would stay there next time we were in Hanoi (we live in Vietnam and she is Vietnamese), and they lied to her saying that I'd told them we would come back to stay.Staff treats their contract workers very badly. My girlfriend wasn't feeling well and went to get a face and head massage. The hotel charged over 1 million dong, but the person doing the massage only got 120 thousand dong, the hotel pocketed the rest. In addition, the hotel did not have the things necessary for the massage, tried to blame the contracted masseuse for not bringing those even though the hotel facilities are supposed to have them, and threatened not to pay her.Very bad behavior on the part of the hotel staff.
We really enjoyed an upgraded room facing the street. The staff was wonderful and they met all our needs during our stay.
Noisy street.
Very good location in the middle of the old quarter closed to a lot of restaurants.
A little bit expensive.
Great location in Old Quarter, nice breakfast and great rooftop bar views!
