    • Great staff, quiet and comfortable room in a good location.

    Cons -

    • The breakfast was overpriced.
    • Insufficient care / management of the breakfast area. Chair was dirty with food and had cigarette burns. Various items on the table, napkins holder etc, dirty and not correctly placed. Table mat cheap plastic and frayed. At this price point, I think these points should be fixed. Perhaps management are not aware that there is a problem. At first glance, it all looks "fine"?There is an overall liking / trend for large and mixed breakfast buffets served at all big hotels of this class. This is enjoyed by 90% or more of all travellers and guests, but not by this guest. I wanted ONE high-quality coffee and ONE high-quality croissant or pastry. I could have had 100 coffees and 100 different foods, but NOT of a high quality. After day one, I no longer went to breakfast. Since there are more coffee shops in Hanoi per head of population than anywhere else on earth, finding good coffee is not a problem. :-)
    • Very disappointing ! There were four water bottles in the room . The bottles were of 2 different designs . But since all had water and nobody told us anything we thought all to be complimentary and drank . Later while check out they billed for two bottles saying two of the bottles were chargeable . This was very dissatisfied behaviour. They should have informed us before which is complimentary and which is chargeable and when they hadn’t said anything they shouldn’t charge for such a basic thing as water .

Very professional staff and a really excellent room. Huge bed. Good hygiene. A large window that could be opened. Very easy and comfortable aircon and no troublesome light sources in the rooms from fire or other equipment. A very peaceful and happy 3 nights.I escaped to the Mercure La Gare after very bad experiences at cheaper hotels. The standards in Hanoi are low for lower-class hotels, the photographs are extremely deceptive, the managers can be aggressive and awful. To avoid risk, stress and financial loss, stay at higher class hotels such as this one.

Very close to Hanoi railway station, barely a five minute walk. A busy hotel; lots of tour groups in and out all day long, so obviously a long standing decent reputation. Comfy, clean room with enormous bed, reasonable storage for clothes and a good bathroom. In a city as vast as Hanoi, the first time visitor has no idea about how good the location is but we were assured by family who live there that we’d picked a good spot. More a hotel for a short transit stop than a long stay, but none the worse for that. I’d use it again.

I booked a car to the airport from the reception desk and was shocked to discover that the price charged was about three times the going rate. Should have known better and used Booking.com app or local Grab app.

Standard Vietnamese breakfast buffet. Quiet and close to walking locations.

Many tour groups were staying there. Was crowded at meal time.

The room was clean and spacious. It is very quiet. Staff are friendly and efficient.

    8PrashantPosted on: 2-14-2025

Walking distance from the lake and conveniently located to few attractions.

Small rooms. No space for nags or to unpack bags or store clothes. Design as if you won't spend more than one night. Staff with limited English communication skills.

I liked that the property was on the outskirts of the Old Quarter away from the noise. It was close but not too close. The location was better imo. Also, the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The room was fine, the size was fine, it had a window but there was no view contrary to expectation. Overall, the property was small compared to others at the same 4 star level.

Great location and comfortable room with a rich breakfast!

Perfect location for exploring Hanoi on foot. Staff very friendly. Starbucks up the road too for European style coffee

I liked the friendly front desk personnel and the wonderful restaurant, very reasonably priced.

    Politeness of staff

Bathroom was very tiny and there was no where to hang clothes or put out toiletries. Blurred glass is used for part of bathroom wall … ok for couples but uncomfortable when friends are sharing.

Excelent staff, great English speakers, the hotel is everything we expect in a Mercure property. The location is excelent, in the old town but with very little noise. I stayed in local properties in the Old Town and there was no comparison.

Actually all my necessities were met, I believe they could give more information on tours and attractions opening hours.

    5ChristinePosted on: 6-15-2024

The room & bed were ok,staffs are good. I like the ATM machine there,it was handy

Bathroom was so tiny, no lock, just wooden door, made a big fuss about online check-in before coming, it's like going to take somuch time. Too much money wanted for security bond.Expensive to stay,I made a big mistake, bcse I got one room with Accor free, so I decided to pay for other to stay with my daughters, but I could have definitely got 2 rooms cheaper in any other hotels in Hanoi including breakfast for the money I paid for one room in Mercure Hanoi with no break fast.Breakfast was like $20 Australian, then they will add tax to it. My room was $350,then I went there they said $380 including the tax. will never stay there again.

This place felt like an oasis in the desert after the first hotel we booked (an left immediately) in Hanoi. It is nearby all attractions, very clean and tidy. Staff is helpful, engaging and friendly. Breakfast is simple and tasteful, although the cheese selection could be improved. Overall we had a really nice experience. 100% Recommended!

    Location is 4/5

    8CheePosted on: 5-19-2024

Front staff was friendly and could converse well in English. Location very near to railway attractions, local market, railway station, 45min drive to airport (depends on traffic)

I have to leave early, so had to have breakfast right after 6am, the egg and noodle station is mostly unmanned, you have to wait for the cook to come around (probably busy in kitchen)

Very central, great breakfast and most of all wonderful staff
