Bathroom, staff scammed us when booking our car to airport

I was only there for a night. The property manager responded quickly when I needed her to. It was squarely located in the Old Quarter, and was close to everything.

There were ants all over the bathroom sink. I called the property manager though and she sent someone right away to seal the opening through which they were getting through. He did a good job (I didn't see any afterwards) but having that experience wasn't pleasant. There were also stairs to get to the lobby which were difficult to climb up with a heavy luggage. Bed sheets weren't the cleanest, but I did sleep well.

Very old room , street noise, and cleanliness

Location is great, our room overlooked St. Joseph's Cathedral (501). It's on a nice little street with lots going on.Nice big room, good bathroom.Not too noisy at night.Easy walk to Ho Hoan Kiem lake and Train Street.

An overall fabulous experience: Nice boutique hotel, wonderful staff (especially Alicia -- Phuong), excellent location near restaurants and the cathedral. I was in a spacious room with a balcony and an intriguing city view. Housekeeping fantastic. Everyone was helpful and kind. AND they had an elevator! I highly recommend and will certainly return. It was such a wonderful stay!

I loved pretty much everything. The only things lacking were an on-site restaurant -- but that wasn't at all necessary, because there are scads of places to eat -- and a handrail for the front stairs. But Alicia, seeing my apprehension, rushed up and helped me up and down them. (I could maneuver it easily -- I just like handrails!)

It was very noisy also at night. The lobby was full with cigarette smell. There is no breakfast.We asked for a trip to Mai chau and the organization was very bad.

Great value for money! The location was superb, the hotel itself is clean (+ it has a lift!) But most importantly they have the best staff, very informative, helpful and friendly. Highly recommended..

Good location, next to the Church, close to Hoan Kiem Lake. There are lot of good foods around: bun oc, bun cha, bun met, banh cuon, banh goi, com, banh com, banh xu xue, ...The hotel is nice, clean. Room is comfortable. Good value

The hotel room is clean, spacious, bright ambiance. The staff is approachable, especially Phuong and Huyen, whenever we need something they always tried their best especially when I looked for cake for my friend and when I looked for white rice!! Haha. We also forgot our souvenirs gifts when we went out but they secured it for us. We are very thankful! Really!

the installation of drainage of Washroom was a bit off the intire floor flooded every time you shower. The rest excellent.

perfect hotel wonderful staff so friendly and helpful.the location for me is the best in Hanoi.so many restaurants nearby from local to western choices.The beds are so comfortable with good TV and full mini bar perfect place to relax after long flight or short.The manger is French and speaks perfect English really fantastic place this hotel was the highlight of my stay in Vietnam ??

My family and i had a wonderful stay at the philgrim hotel. A big thank you to Long,who help us find a ride; Fung is very sweet and accomodating; Ms Lee who is so sweet and help us in getting the phone back that my cousin left in the car. And Silas, who help us alot with me and my family's airport transfers. The room is clean big and spacious. Bed is comfortable to sleep. Water pressure is strong. Location is perfectly located and just walking distance to alot of places. Wifi signal is strong. The cathedral bell didn't bother us as it serve as our alarm clock in the moring. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Hanoi and will recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

The location of the hotel is great, just near the Cathedral, ask for a room in 6 or 7 floor, where you can look directly at the catedhral from a small balcony. The staff was very sweet, helpfuĺ, booked us trips to Ha long Bay and Ninh Binh for a good price, also gave us tips for food and things to do and where to go. Really a great place to stay.

It stinks the moment you step in the room. Literally. The smell comes from the sewage. The AC rattles if you turn it on. Good thing we stayed in April, so it wasn’t stiffling hot, we could get by with the windows open, but since it’s located in the city center, you should put up with endless noises coming from outside. The bed linens and towels are dirty and covered in spots. Cockroaches run around the room

Very near to the Big Church. Clean and spacious room with kettle. One review said there was church bell early in morning but we didn’t hear any church bell. Location was great. Many food stalls and restaurants and fashion shops and a supermarket nearby. We bought the durain pia from this supermarket and it was delicious. Location was great we did our own walking tour to Train street and then to Dong Xuan market. Shopping at Dong Xuan market was great. Snacks and coffees as souvenirs were a few cents cheaper than the supermarket.

The aircon was a bit noisy but we could sleep through the night though. Our room faced the street but the murmurs of people from the streets were very soft and not disturbing. About 10 pm on, it was totally quiet. Some water seeped out from shower screen which made the supposed to be dry area wet.

Several pros and consPro:- close to everything- only 2 rooms per floor so no noisy guests in the neighbour- let’s say it is not too expensive compared to Hanoi old quarter.. ( and I needed SOS accommodation )- english speaking staff

Cons:- rundown, rooms need renovations- cleanliness is not the best- location: close to a cathedral which chimes its bells from 5 AM- bad soundproofing- at the time I was there there was construction in neighbourhood too which was loud too from 6 AM until 5 PM- air conditioning is too weak- no bottled water for arriving guests - no coffee or tea in the room

Comfortable stay with friendly staff good location

Great single night, awesome area of Hanoi easy to get everywhere in the city. Simple, clean and good value for money Hotel. Super helpful staff who can help arrange and book things with trust and again good value.
