We really enjoyed our stay at Mohua.Location was perfect. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and warm.The staff were very friendly. Kat is a great asset to Mohua.

Lovely clean, warm rooms. Comfy beds. Clean bathroom with everything you need, loved the great heat/fan system.Everything you need for a couple of comfy nights on holiday. Close to town and restaurants, nice country outlook.

Managers were very helpful in leaving room open for me when I arrived much later than originally intended. Nice motel to stay in before starting the Heaphy Track but a little bit out of Takaka town

My wife and I thought Mohua excelled in terms of the layout and facilities. The unit has been recently renovated: the bathroom is very nice, as is the kitchenette. It’s “just” a basic motel room, yes, but it was clean, and someone had taken the time and thought to make sure that it has everything one might need. We’ve been in dozens of kiwi motel rooms where we discover, damn, they don’t have this, or that… Mohua has somehow discovered all those things that we’ve found lacking in other places, and they have made sure THEY have them covered. Kudos to Mohua for superb interior design and equipment. Well done.

The owners were really interested in their guests, friendly and approachable for any discussion or questions. The location and facilities met our expectations, such that everything was provided to allow us to self cater. Centrally located with the shops and supermarket all within an easy walk. I would recommend people visiting the Takaka area to stay at this motel.

Nothing to dislike.

Loved the country view from our upstairs room, and the balcony to enjoy it from. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. Highly recommend.

A little noisy first night from road traffic, however after the first night we closed the windows and left air conditioning on low so it was quiet.

Our hosts were most welcoming and helpful. Motel was perfect spotlessly clean and an awesome view over the paddocks.

Super clean, great location near main street, supermarket, cafes, restaurants, spacious unit, great kitchen facilities, excellent shower, comfortable beds, lovely hosts, very accommodating. Rural outlook with great views of the mountains. Quiet unit.

Very friendly owner. Comfortable rooms and very clean. In the motel range, I would call this one exceptional. We only stayed for one night, but you could easily stay for longer.

Absolutely everything. This was one of the nicest and best appointed motels we have ever stayed in anywhere. Congratulations to the owners for adding little extras to make the unit perfect. Very comfy bed, great shower & loved the little balcony.
