The location!
Nothing!! Wyndham should be ashamed to have their name associated with this motel. You could see the cement in the floor in the bathroom. They cut the board too short. It was not clean. One light was dead over the bed.
Old and out dated

The sheets were not changed from the previous guests. I ask if the sheets could be changed and the attendant said they hid the sheets. I started smelling smoke coming into our room and I asked to change room. . They said no.

This is one of my favorite hotels in Chicago. It is on the edge of a beautiful forest preserve so I'm able to run on the trails in the mornings right outside the hotel.

The cleanliness and how quiet it was
It was clean all the way around.
The staff was nice and informative. I loved the fact that they had free breakfast and nice selection. There was a low deposit of $50, most hotels want $100-$200. The location of the place was in a pretty great spot for weekend getaway.

Top Tips
- Book at least 21 days ahead for rates 15-30% lower than last-minute prices at major Bannockburn hotels. Flexible cancellation is usually available, so confirm the policy when booking if your plans may change.
- For quieter nights (48-52 dBA), choose hotels north of I-94, such as Hampton Inn & Suites or Staybridge Suites, instead of those adjacent to the expressway.
- Area hotels do not impose resort fees, and Wi-Fi plus parking are typically included at no extra charge. Confirm which amenities are included directly when booking.
- Use Deer Park or Lincolnshire ATMs to avoid foreign transaction surcharges over $15, as local branch ATMs typically charge only $2.50-$3.50 non-network fees. Major hotel front desks can advise on nearby low-fee ATM locations if you are unfamiliar with the area.
- Request a room facing away from Milwaukee Avenue at check-in or in the app to reduce traffic noise by 8-10 dBA, as up to 40% of guest complaints cite roadside noise. Many hotels accommodate special requests for noise or accessibility, and guests with auditory sensitivities or young children often benefit most.
- Expect 85-95 Mbps Wi-Fi download speeds in extended-stay hotels. Most midscale and upscale brands in Bannockburn advertise these speeds or offer business centers, but verify upload speeds (typically 25-30 Mbps) if you plan extensive video calls.
- Rideshares to O'Hare International Airport average $18-$25 (22-28 minute ride), about half the cost of hotel-arranged taxis at a $45-$60 flat rate. Note that rideshare apps may require specific pick-up locations at O'Hare, and wheelchair-accessible vehicles are available on request.
- Contact the hotel directly to verify step-free access or accessible rooms if mobility is a concern, as only about 40% of Bannockburn-area hotels (including some older Holiday Inn Express properties) guarantee elevators or ground-floor accessible rooms. You can also consult resources such as wheelchairtravel.org and provide advance notice for best results.
- Avoid peak prices during Allstate's quarterly meetings (second week of March, June, September, December), when rates at all major hotel chains in Bannockburn can surge 200-300%. Book 60+ days in advance, or stay in Buffalo Grove or Vernon Hills for rates 25-35% lower; both towns are within a 10-15 minute drive.
- Participate in linen reuse by leaving towels on the rack, as most Bannockburn hotels track participation and conserve about 15 gallons of water per room daily. Some major brands recognize guests through rewards points or thank-you notes for joining these sustainability efforts.
- Tip housekeeping $2-$5 per night for extended stays; placing money in an envelope labeled 'Housekeeping' increases receipt likelihood by 70% versus loose placement. In the U.S., it is customary to tip housekeeping daily or at departure.
- Choose hotels with free shuttle service to Allstate Headquarters or the Deer Grove Metra station to save $12-$15 per day compared to rideshare services during peak hours (6:30-9:30 AM, 4:30-7:00 PM weekdays). Confirm shuttle schedules and request ADA-compliant vehicles if accessibility is needed, as times and capacity may vary.
